Ordered breakfast by phone for pick up on Friday morning. Service was very accommodating with changes while ordering and took payment info over the phone. It was good that I ordered pick-up since all of their outdoor tables were already occupied. To be pandemic-safe, I picked up from the front of the building- and since the order only took about 15min, they knew who I was before I even had to introduce myself at the door. I signed for payment outside and they handed off the fully packaged meals, and off I went. Flavors for the eggs and French toast were excellent. Very filling, very hearty, very well seasoned and tasty. The whip cream didn't hold up well in the to go box with the hot French toast- they might be able to put whip cream and/or strawberries in a foam cup to help preserve coolness- but that may need to be tested. I wish the syrup had been real maple syrup, but it definitely had the high fructose flavor. The candies were a cute bonus to find at the bottom of the to go bag! read more

I went to this place around 9:45am on a Sunday. When I came in, I couldnt really tell if we had to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. It took a while for someone to come seat me... but not before they tell me all the places I couldn't sit because it was just me and they didnt want me sitting anywhere that had more than 2 seats..."to save space for the crowds if they came in".. Anyway...you order at the front and they bring you your food. The food was just OK. It kind of reminded me of going to a family member's house out of town and them cooking me breakfast. There was not anything about it spectacular or completely overwhelming, however I wasn't underwhelmed either. It has your basic breakfast foods, omelets, French toast, breakfast sandwiches... I just didn't see anything on the menu that appeared to be a standout item. I decided on the French toast and coffee for my meal. They were out of coffee except for decaf at 9:45 a.m.!!! The French toast was good I ordered some extra toppings and tried to jazz it up a little bit. It was just OK as I stated it was nothing that was superbly overwhelming. I would go again for the simple fact that I'm pretty certain I will get a basic breakfast that will fill my stomach. However if you are looking for a good jazzy breakfast spot on a Sunday morning I would not recommend this place. So here's the story. We decided to try this place on a Sunday for brunch. We noticed a sign on the door that said no indoor dining. They had six tables outside. Two of them were for two people. After our meal, I asked the waitress if they always had no indoor dining. She said no, it was because they were down to one chef and they felt they could not handle the volume. A few minutes later, the owner came by and said it was because St. Louis had the highest COVID rating(?) and they would have a tough time having everyone six feet apart. We thought the waitress' story was the best. Anyway he got the French toast and a side of bacon. I had the salmon everything bagel which came open face. We both agreed our food was delicious. #23 on The 25 Places to Eat in STL in 2017. That is according to the Yelp Blog and now that I have been, I couldn't agree more. This is a relatively small cafe, with a big personality. It definitely is a neighborhood spot, that welcomes outsiders with open arms. I left the neighborhood before 2Schae opened, but if I still lived directly across the street, I'd be here every morning. I was impressed that much. I knew about 2Schae, but thought it was just a "coffee shop". I had no idea that they had such an extensive menu for breakfast and lunch. The large variety of omelettes available, just blew my mind. In addition to all the ones that they create, you can also select your own ingredients and they'll make one specially for you. One of my favorite vegetables is Asparagus and I'm a fan of Goat Cheese. So when I saw them with bacon and sun dried tomatoes in the French Quarter Omelette, I knew that one was for me. It was a three egg omelette filled with small pencil stem asparagus, the most flavorful kind in my opinion and rich creamy Goat Cheese. The bacon was crisp and sun-dried tomatoes were cut into little strips. Great presentation and the four flavors blended together wonderfully. It was so huge, I brought half of it home is a true, "Doggie Bag" that is eco-friendly. The coffee they serve is Wildhorse, which is from a local vendor. I like it when a local business supports another. At their condiment counter, they offered both skim and half & half for those who need a little cream in their coffee. 2Schae is divided in to two sections, with an open working kitchen in the middle. On one side you have small tables and chairs and on the other is plush chairs and sofas and a counter in front of the window. Either side is relaxing and work friendly. What a great find! It's a cute hole in the wall cafe! I was leaving from dropping my kids off and really wanted something good! I found this place and it did not disappoint! The man who was there I figure was the owner is so friendly and patient! I got a matcha latte with almond milk and a lox everything breakfast sandwich. Lovely cafè on the west end of the West End. If you find that confusing 2Schae is just north of Forest Park. The cafè is splendidly charming; filled with coffee mugs from around the globe. This is a personal touch the Schaefer's (owner's) add displaying their wondrous worldly travels. There's window seating, bistro tables and a patio option perfect on a beautiful sunshiny day. While visiting St. Louis I wanted to try nearby restaurants with great reviews. This cafe was a great choice. The parking was a challenge. But once past this small obstacle it was all good. I went with a taste for an omelette. I usually can't go wrong with a Mediterranean Omelette, so I played it safe with my choice of ingredients. The omelettes are made with 3 eggs. I opted for two instead. The ingredients were very, very fresh. The olives certainly came with bursting flavors, while the feta cheese was rather mild. I prefer mild feta as opposed to salty, strongly flavored kinds. So in an egg shell (not a nut! Get it? LOL!) I was very pleased and my tummy was happy. A mini croissant was my choice over white or wheat bread. The coffee was at the right strength and fresh tasting. This cafe is especially nice because it feels very welcoming and homey for first-timers and repeat, regular customers. I'm assuming the two person team are the owners. They did all the cooking, smiling, greeting, and conversing with ALL their customers. The cooking area is out in the open and not behind a wall. It literally felt like your breakfast was being cooked for you in your own new home. It felt very personable and I thoroughly enjoy it. The owners are extremely nice and personable. While I was eating it was obvious that they've established regulars. They greeted these customers as such and the customers were very receptive and pleasant in return. They entered and interacted as if they were looking forward to the breakfast meeting. The cafe is located in a residential neighborhood, which likely lends to the challenge in parking. But the upside is the neighborhood, warm atmosphere the restaurant radiates that was probably created because of its location. So I shall not complain, and will simply appreciate. Everyone is always so pleasant and it really feels homey. They have various omelets that I've tried over the past two years - the eggs with pesto are always yummy. I'm a sucker for the 2Schae toast, though, which is a pretty simple concept but deliciously executed. It's thick toast, peanut butter, a banana, granola, and honey. Super yummy! I think they recently changed their granola and it used to be crunchier which I miss. My boyfriend gets the smoked salmon bagel and it's totally decent, but pretty basic smoked salmon. They do unlimited coffee and have a cute selection of mugs, but the coffee could be slightly better quality.
