Honest-1 (the District Manager) tells me that there is a "hole IN my flex pipe" and that the y-pipe is in really bad condition. He tells me that instead of paying $637, I should replace the y-pipe as well because it's not going to last me and I should just pay the $700. He told me I should make an appointment to get it done asap. He kept asking me "how about tomorrow", "how about Thursday"... I asked him to show me the hold in my flex pipe, but he wouldn't. I wasn't feeling to good about this. When I walked in to Honest-1 Auto Care (Ogden and Eola in Aurora), I immediately got a bad vibe. Can't really place it, but my gut felt something wasn't right about this place. Now, I'm female and over 50....don't know too much about cars but my gut had a feeling that because, 1) they would NOT take me to look under my car when I asked them (when they had it up in the air) and 2) the jargon they started mumbling about, trying to confuse me, felt off. I attached a picture of the real problem with my car. DO. NOT. GO to Honest-1. Had I not had that gut feeling and went with them, I'd be out a whole lot of money. They should change the name of their damn business!!! Epilogue: I took my vehicle to a place in Lombard for an estimate on referral from a friend. This auto care that I went to in Lombard took me under my car and showed me exactly what was wrong. He told me that the flex pipe did NOT have a hole in it and it just needed welding. He also showed me the y-pipe, which was in great condition as well. It ended up costing me $180! Please, save yourself some money - do not go to them - and I know the name is attractive and all, but they were all about the money.

He has had nothing but issues with the truck since day 1 of bringing it home and continues to have problems. When he did need parts, he tried calling and was told they never sold him this vehicle. Fast forward 9 months later on March 28, 2026. We went back (hesitantly) to purchase a vehicle for our son. The truck we purchased for him seemed to be in great condition for a 2016 and figured since it was 6 years newer than the car we bought for our nephew, we may have better luck this time around. Jokes on me... You know what they say, "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me". I should have listened to my instincts. Within HOURS of bringing the truck home, the check engine light came on and had multiple codes relating to battery issues, transmission issues, etc. I spoke with Nick's wife on 4/13/26 relaying the information we found out and was told she would get back to me. She never did. Instead, she spoke with my husband and told him she would send him the information we could send the photos of the codes to so she can look into it. He never got that information either. Now, as of 4/23/26, I had to call them for an update on the codes I verbally told Nick's wife about on the phone on 4/13/26. Nick said he was waiting for my husband to get back to him and never heard from him. I explained the conversation my husband told me and he said he never said that to my husband and provided me with an email to send the photos of the codes to. This call was initiated due to the alternator going out on this truck already. I understand there will always be a risk with purchasing a used vehicle, but not this many issues within a month of purchase, more or less hours. I will be emailing Nick the photos but am not hopeful for a resolution based off other reviews regarding this company. I have a feeling this place is clearing codes in order to scam people into buying a vehicle from them and then acting like they didn't know anything about it when mentioned to them. Shop here at your own risk. I for sure will NEVER buy another vehicle from here and will warn whoever I can not to buy from here. I will also be filing a report with the BBB if I have to go that far. Update as of 5/14/26; when we purchased my son's vehicle, we mentioned 2 repairs that needed to be done. The first one was the motor for the seat didn't work and the second was a backup sensor that needed to be repaired. To this day, the sensor has yet to be replaced or even looked at due to the fact that they apparently don't have a service technician available on Saturdays, which happens to be the only time my husband and I are off work to take this in. I picked up the motor for the seat yesterday and upon pickup, I was told by their mechanic the motor that was given to me was pulled off another Ford. They couldn't even be bothered to order a new part for the vehicle they sold us even though we were told a new motor would be ordered and we had to wait for the part to come in and then to top it off, when I expressed concerns to Nick's wife about the vehicle since the day purchased, she claimed she had no idea and wasn't aware of the issues even though she is the person I originally mentioned them to. Furthermore, with the concerns relating to the bad alternator; we had this rebuilt by a local company and upon their inspection we were told "whoever rebuilt the alternator last time did a sloppy job. A screw from the internal voltage regulator was lodged into the stator which is what caused all the problems". How a faulty alternator was not caught by their mechanic when inspecting the vehicle prior to selling is beyond me. These people are lazy scam artists! I said it before and I will say it again, buyers beware!!! Avoid this place at all costs!!!

It was dropped off at the end of May on a Tuesday and I was told it would be ready by Thursday or Friday morning. They had it for 9 days and I had to bring it back 2 weeks later to have a part replaced on the transmission!! This is AFTER I was told they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it and to just come and pick it up and drive it and see if the problem gets worse and then bring it back. They replaced the part and then I had to bring it back in a 3rd time only 1 week later because it overheated and it would not come out of gear. They told me they would order some parts, and I could bring it back next week. When I tried to leave, I could not get it out of reverse. I have driven it a few weeks now and it seemed okay until it began to shift hard and gave me multiple transmission codes. I had full intention on bringing it in this Monday for a 4th time and upon attempting to park it in my driveway the shifter cable broke. My husband fixed it, and it will still not engage into gear so it will now have to be towed. I do not know if the parts are refurbished, if there is a communication barrier or if they are putting band aids on bigger problems, but the service here has been something I have never experienced in my life. There is no amount of discounts or credits or warranties that will make up for the amount of time and money lost by not having this vehicle working properly after working on it 3 different times over the course of 3 months. I would NOT recommend bringing your vehicle here. It has been nothing but a headache.

Usually, there's a clear view from the shop area to the waiting area/service desk--where I anxiously crane my neck to see where my car sits in the line of work. Usually, the waiting area is cramped and unclean, a place for stale coffee and man-picked TV. Usually, I find myself on the receiving end of vague terms with hens-and-haws, until I prove my cursory understanding of a fuel combustion engine and the ABS system. Here's what it's like at Bill White's: complementary beverages if you need to wait; free local pick-up and drop-off when requested; always friendly and polite service counter assistance by Rachel, Joy, and Bill; absolutely clear communication about diagnosis of problem and solution to problem, clear communication about the reasonable price of service or repair, and clear communication about exactly when work will be completed; lastly, there's a thank you card or coupon in the mail--real savings, not just some stupid systems-check, on something a car really needs.
