David, one of the worst salespeople I've ever encountered, was incredibly sarcastic and condescending. Despite buying over $6,000 worth of appliances, I was dismissed and never received a call back for a warranty issue. When I called the store to seek assistance with the warranty, they informed me that I had to speak to the person who had sold me the fridge. This made no sense to me, as it seemed like a commission-based system. Even when I was their customer, the experience was terrible. To make matters worse, David was on vacation during the time I needed help. Meanwhile, my factory warranty expired, and the window for adding an extended warranty had passed. Additionally, the items they were selling could be as old as 2019, claiming to be new or recent returns. I had a very negative experience at this P.C. Richard & Son location. While I was in the store looking at laptops, an assistant manager named Anthony approached me and immediately spoke to me in a confrontational and disrespectful manner. During the interaction, he loudly called me a "lowlife," "scumbag," and "douchebag" in front of other customers. At one point, he was standing about 30 feet away from me, in the middle of the store, still yelling these insults across the floor. As a manager, that kind of behavior is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Regardless of any situation, management should be setting the standard for how customers are treated, not escalating things with insults. What makes this more disappointing is that this company promotes a "family" and customer-first atmosphere. Based on this experience, that standard clearly wasn't being upheld. read more

THEY SOLD US A DISH BREAKER!!!! Last fall, we went to this store to buy a Bosch dishwasher, but the salesman talked us into buying a Kitchenaid dishwasher instead. After a few washes, we found the dishwasher kept chipping pieces off from our plates and bowls. We have bought insurance for it. We called their customer service, they sent the servicemen over two times, they can't figured out what was wrong. Then the store rejected our claim. Their reason for the rejection were : you should not put China in the dishwasher !!! and The machine operating normally. We find these reasons were so funny. A dishwasher does not wash china? our dishes are all dishwasher safe products; how could they say the dishwasher keeps breaking dishes is operating normally ?!! read more

It's rare that I write a negative review. I did a few months ago regarding repair service on a new refrigerator. I wanted to follow up with how this concluded. The repair was completed and the refrigerator is working and in use. My frustration was in purchasing a refrigerator (which was to be a second refrigerator and in time for the holidays) which did not cool and had a freezer that built up frost in a day of being turned on. (It's a frost free refrigerator. The door gasket was defective causing the problem. This is a low end Whirlpool refrigerator. I would suggest staying away from Whirlpool low end products - the quality is just not there. PC Richards is a great place to purchase products. After the initial mishap of ordering the incorrect gasket, the service department did ensure the problem was corrected and fixed the refrigerator as soon as the part (gasket) came in. He comes to my home and announces that he cannot fix my brand new appliances and to take it up with pc Richard's. Pc Richard's tells me to take it up with the repair company. These are brand new appliances?????? After 7 hours on the phone today I am done. Been doing this for months now. Pc Richard's you beat me out of thousands of dollars. You give a really bad name to "family run" companies. My family will spend more thousands of dollars for a working fridge and stove elsewhere. You won. Keep our money. I have to say that as a loyal customer for almost 45 years, and without any glitches, the MASSIVE issue I am having now with PC Richard is not only unnecessary, it is a clear sign that they do not value customers or customer service like they used to. Their service dept is separate from the store which creates it's own issues and the delivery times are now relayed to the customers the night before so taking time off from work to be home from it is an issue that PC Richard could not care less about, but that is what we tolerate, it is not MY issue. I bought an under counter appliance in February. I bought under counter because the apartment I am in does not have room for a full size refrigerator. On the day of delivery when the installer plugged it in , it made a loud popping noise and didn't go on. The delivery people told me to call for service and they would come to fix it. I called service they told me to go to the manufacturers site to register it for the manufacturers warranty. I did that, manufacturer wouldn't warranty it because it was manufactured over 4 years ago and I would have to rely on PC Richard's to service it. It took 12 phone calls, 3 emails and 3 months before I could get a repair person there. All this time I was not able to use my unit, it is a freezer so I only have a tiny under counter fridge and no freezer for this apt. Repair person comes, says I need a new "motherboard", will order and 2 weeks later comes back, plugs it in, another pop and they have to order another one. Another 2 weeks, comes in, motherboard works but freezer isn't working, turns out it's a bad compressor. RD Appliance Repair could not have been better. The delays in getting them was all P.C. Richard & Son. Now they have to wait for a decision by P.C. Richard & Son to determine if it will be fixed or replaced and they told me I would hear from them directly. 2 weeks and nothing so far. I called today (to start the cycle of 12 phone calls before it goes anywhere) and I was told that they would call with an answer today and guess what-----no call. I really want my money back so I can buy from Home Depot, Loews, or Best Buy because P.C. Richard doesn't care about customer satisfaction anymore......apparently. Just in the last 10 years I've purchased 4 beds, 4 TVs, 2 washer/Dryer sets, Refrigerator, Microwave, Dishwasher, BBQ, and I'm sure I'm missing a few other things, like my water filter. I know what loyal means, P.C. Richard has forgotten what it means or how to return loyalty. It is now that 5 months after paying over $1,800 for an under the counter freezer, that I have a box that doesn't turn on, and in fact never worked for a minute. Over the past 8 years, I've bought 7 appliances at this Deer Park store (for two different apartments). For the most part, everything's been good thanks to extended warranties but this last experience has really made me second guess if I'll ever do business with PC Richards again. I live in Queens, drove to Deer Park on 10/10 to buy a new dishwasher since our last one (also bought at that store) conked out and the warranty expired. Ended up buying a Bosch dishwasher from the scratch and dent section. Looked good and was able to get a good price. Made it VERY clear to the salesman that I needed a plug, not a junction box connection. He assured me that he gave me the right part, I loaded it into my trunk and went home to install it. Got home, he sold me the wrong part (i believe willingly). Called the store 4 times, no answer. Called Home Depot, Lowes, and appliance stores in my area - they didn't have the part. Called PC Richards service number, closed, called PC Richards customer service, and opted for a callback - never heard back. Went on eBay and bought the part in Ohio. Cost me another $30 on top of the $20 I spent for the useless junction box. In the week it took the part to arrive, I called the store every day with no answer. I called PC Richards customer service and was transferred to a dead end. The dishwasher sat in my living room for a week until the power cord arrived. I work, I have two kids, we're in a pandemic - Even though I was pissed that I was sold a part that I'll never use and felt taken advantage of I let it go because I don't have the time to constantly call and I knew the part was on its way. Finally got the part a week ago (10/17). Took about 20 minutes to install the dishwasher. Fantastic, it's out of my living room and we can move on with our life. A week later, today (10/24) - two weeks since buying the dishwasher and one week after its installation the unit is flashing error messages and making draining noises nonstop. It had to be pulled out and unplugged to stop making beeping noises. We have a newborn and opted to buy a new dishwasher to avoid having a service technician come to our house. We figured it was worth the extra money to keep someone from coming into our home. I bought the extended warranty and will schedule a masked service call with my family out of the house but COME ON PC RICHARDS - sell me a part I don't need, sell me a defective unit AND don't answer the phone when your customer calls during business hours? My husband and I went to this location to purchase a t.v. and head phones. Before the t.v. was put in the car. The sales person took a photo of the T.V. and QUICKLY turned the television on and off. Once we get home and connected the T.V. we noticed the screen was damaged from the inside. My husband quickly took it back less than an hour after purchase. The manager was EXTREMELY RUDE. He said its not his problem and that we damaged the screen ourselves. He did not give any help as far as options to get a new screen or warranty information. We just spent money in that store and he treated my husband horribly.The manager gave my husband the corporate number as if nothing will happen and he wanted him out the store. I will never want anyone to loose their job,but this manager does not deserve his position and seriously needs to be re-trained. What's with all of these low reviews?? This location is huge and they have a scratch & dent clearance center! We'll talk about that in a few minutes. Its the beginning of the summer. I open up the freezer to our second refrigerator and the freezer is no longer freezing. As a matter of fact, this sucka is blowing warm air?? I call the local service repair person and he tells us, its cheaper to buy a new unit. Wait, what?? So I just throw away this 5 year old unit that goes into a landfill and adds to the total destruction of the environment? My wife whispers to me, I have 20 people coming over the house next weekend. We need to buy something asap. Yes dear... We go to our local P.C. Richard & Son (Don't forget the son) and start shopping. Holy Moley, I need a small refrigerator with no ice maker, water dispenser and no disco lights. So expensive! The salesperson tells us, if this is a second unit for you folks maybe you should look in our Deer Park clearance center. Exsqueeze me? I zoom to the Deer Park location. Walking in, I grab the first sales person, wheres the clearance center?? Walk this way.... (Sorry, Arthur moment) Once in the clearance center, its rows and rows of items that are truly on clearance. Floor models, units that have a dent or a scratch and more importantly, a lower prices on these items. Now I could just buy a deep freezer but I need a place to keep the beer cold. I find (I had to get up and look at it) a white basic refrigerator. And its cheaper than what I was being newly sold on the floor. Sold! And that folks is smart shopping. I have had a very frustrating experience at this location. I've purchased at least 8-9 appliances from PC Richards and a refrigerator that I had bought 3.5 months ago went dead on me. First the freezer stopped working and then the whole refrigerator just died out . I had called the store about the problem and they sent a repairman after 3 days to come "Look" at the problem. He said he was going to order a bracket for my freezer, as it wasn't sliding in place. The very next day the fridge completely stopped working. This happened on a Saturday so when I called the local PC Richard's on Sunday to get a replacement they told me that I had to wait until Monday to call the repair department. Keep in mind this fridge is not even 6 months old! I called the Corporate Store and the location in Deer Park at least 7-8 times back and forth because the Corporate Store told me that the repairman had visited us last week therefore, they couldn't replace our refrigerator as we should wait for the parts that the repairman had ordered. I was trying to explain to the guy on the phone that when the repairman was here, he said: he was going to order the bracket for the freezer and nothing else. Which was going to take 1.5 weeks to arrive! And now the whole fridge is DEAD! Also, the bracket won't solve the current issue anyways. They expected me to wait for 1.5 weeks for the bracket to arrive and then the repair man was going to come and see what else was wrong. I was being fed BULLSHIT, and I'm not using this word for lack of a better term. I have a brand new refrigerator that isn't working and I was expected to wait for 3-4 weeks to have it fixed! This is not good customer service. I was also told by the Corporate Store that I can get a loaner and I had to contact the Deer Park Store for that and mind me, I talked to so many people and everyone provided me with a different piece of information. When I called the Deer Park location for a loaner: they said "you have to PAY for the loaner". which I wasn't informed about by the second lady I was talking to at the Corporate Store! I felt like no one was trying too help, I was put on hold, I was disconnected. I spent 3.5 hours on the phone trying to figure this out. Finally, they have told me that on Wednesday they will send someone to check the appliance and see what they can do. They said this after I had made several calls. The first person who I talked to at the corporate store told me that I had to wait for 1.5 weeks for the repairman to come back! Even after me reiterating the fact the problem has escalated and the whole appliance is dead and the motors aren't running anymore. He was fooling me by stating that the repairman would've ordered parts for that problem too!!! When the repairman was here the upper part of the fridge was functioning! I know right SO FRUSTRATING! THIS REVIEW WILL GIVE YOU A HEADACHE. Because I got a headache dealing with this issue. Please know: PC Richards is only good at selling appliances but if you encounter any issues with the appliance after your purchase the customer service is so pathetic! I was shocked at what I was being told. It is so hot! We are in middle of a pandemic! I have 4 people to feed and I have no refrigerator. Horrible customer service. First the salesmen are pushy and liars. They promise things they can not deliver. Then there are the delivery people who are rude and, of course blame the salespeople. They can not even deliver a working machine. Waiting almost 2 week for them to deliver a working washing machine. First one didn't work (delivery people, cursing as they werer delivering it) never tested it before leaving. Took a week for them to promise a new one and then they cancelled the delivery because the replacement was missing a knob. We purchased all of our kitchen appliances with the extended warranty in 2019. Our refrigerator stopped working two weeks ago; 9/19: we called right away and P.C. RICHARDS told us 9/28 was the earliest service date. We have an infant home who needs breastmilk stored. We have medication that requires refrigeration, all in addition to the food shopping I did the day prior to it breaking. All of my food thawed out and spoiled, all 229 dollars worth. P.C. RICHARDS finally came on 9/28 and said the compressor blew on an LG refrigerator that's under three years older. He said the product was bad. The part will take a week to come in and then he can come back in a week. He said P.C. RICHARDS will give us a loaner refrigerator to help in the meantime. We called and they told us they will sell us one and then when we return it they will refund us. Why did we buy anything from them?! Why did we spend hundreds more on a warranty? They are the worst possible company that's running downhill so fast. I'm disgusted with the lack of customer support; the lack of backing the products they sell!! Their own salesman when we purchased in 2019 told me this model LG was top of the line. This is unacceptable for my infant. We can't live comfortably in our home with the amount of milk she requires and lack of refrigeration. We cannot properly take injectable medication that requires refrigeration. So let me give you the scoop on this spot AND get a coveted "First to Review" in the process. This P.C. Richards locations is a bit of a hidden gem and well guarded secret among electronic and appliance bargain hunters, because the back of the store houses an outlet center. I'm talking deep reductions off floor models and cosmetically damaged merchandise. I got a nice though slightly damaged 3d 55in smart tv, floor model blue-ray player, sound bar system, swivel/tilt mount, hdmi cable, and surge protector for under $1400 (yay me!). In addition to home entertainment, they also carry a huge stock of kitchen appliances. I went with my BFF's brother and he was masterful at talking down even the discounted prices. I was in complete awe! He saved me an additional $300 when it was all said and done - so haggle if you've got the skills. All in all I had a great experience, well, except for the person who ended up helping me. His name was Mark and he wasn't that helpful at all. He was so unhelpful, in fact, that he costs me a trip back to the store because he gave me the wrong remote (besides, I haphazardly left my sound system!). I called before heading there to make sure I could do the exchange and pick up my sound bar, and was told to come on in. When I got there, Mark (who hadn't set my sound bar aside) had snuck out early, causing me a wasted trip. I'm not saying he's a bad guy, I'm saying he isn't the greatest sales person (it's clear that he's less motivated to help you if he isn't making a great commission on the sale - i.e you're shopping from the clearance section). On the up-side, everyone else was lovely, from the gentleman who took two TVs out the box so I could compare the pictures side by side, to the lovely customer service agent who helped with my exchanges, and the manager who tracked down the right remote for my TV. All in all - totally worth the trek if you drive, especially for things like TVs for the kids room (they won't notice a scratch here or there anyway). I am you. I get all of my electronics at Best Buy because of their return policy. I order my stuff on Amazon because of free shipping with Prime. I look up everything online before I shop. But if you want to get a big ticket electronic, you need to ask someone. PC Richards has been around for an amazing 100 years because of their service and their prices. There is a reason this location is the best...It is the Outlet version of the store. Right across from the New Tanger Outlets, this location has all of the shipbacks from all of the other PC Richards locations so there are deals galore. I purchased a New Washer and Dryer for less then a thousand bucks and had no issues. Delivery was on time and quick. The sales people were very honest and courteous. The managers on the floor were also dedicated to making the customer happy. There isn't alot of parking but most people move in and out quickly. They will find you a deal. Its better than searching online since they have the space to show all of the merchandise. read more

I have been shopping at PC's clearance center for decades. Unfortunately the quality of the merchandise has taken a turn for the worse. The last two purchases I made (a dryer and a fridge) at two different times did not go well. I understand that items are as-is when it comes to cosmetics and maybe a cracked shelf, etc. BUT the last two experiences I had there were missing parts removed from the items. Parts that as a novice buyer and not an appliance repairman I would not and should not have been expected to know. Dryer lint trap - missing. A pipe inside the dryer exhaust system - missing. Next occasion the fridge was delivered and could not be set up because of missing water filter someone removed. Now, a few days later it is running and it is not cold like it should be and a Whirlpool repairman is on his way to me this morning to check it out. There is 1 yr warranty but this is not what I expected time and aggravation wise. So, the big question, how much did I save? Well, if you go by the ticket price on the unit - a ton. But if you shop around for current prices I may have saved a couple of hundred dollars - BUT wound up with missing parts, accepted the cracked shelf and a couple of dents - etc. And then Whirlpool tech tells me the fridge was a 2014 model - and although unused floor model - it is still 4 years old tech wise. I used to get great deals and items that were not ravaged and stripped from PC's clearance center but such has not been the case over the last few years. I think in the future I will either demand a gigantic discount off the sticker price to make the possible problems worth it, or shop around new to get the best prices. On the good side of this however is the fact that the store is very proactive in remedying problems with the merchandise - but you really have to check items inside and out, short of plugging them in and doing a load of laundry right there in the showroom to make sure things work. read more

They sold me a dishwasher and two weeks later, the day before my scheduled delivery they said it was out of stock and were not only substituting a different model they were postponing our delivery. 2. On the delivery date at the time I was scheduled for delivery the driver calls and says it will be another 6 hours at least. 3. Most importantly, Mark, Laura and each sales employee left me on hold on several occasions. I have now taken two days off from work to wait for a dishwasher I didn't even select. This company takes advantage of their customers at every turn. They weren't even the cheapest and now I'm paying more by burning vacation days for a dishwasher. I wish I could give negative stars. Update: Kudos to Herb in the Customer Service at Corporate HQ, He was able to make an adjustment and refunded us $150 for our trouble. While it is still true that I will be looking for our local merchants to replace my PC Richards shopping i believe in giving credit where credit is due. Thanks Herb! read more

David's personality sucks he acts like he doesn't wanna help out or do his job, he's also very sarcastic while helping the customer acting like he's being bothered. If you come to this P.C Richards I suggest you avoid David, he has no customer service etiquette what so ever. if you want help and want to feel like your not Agitating someone I suggest you go to Peter he was very helpful and made me feel welcomed! I ordered a range hood from them in November & still have not received it. I have called multiple times & am repeatedly told it's on backorder. I called both the manufacturer & the PC Richards distributor whose confirmed the item is not backordered. It's almost 2.5 months later & still no range hood. I've been told they'll call me back with more info but have literally received 1 call back this entire time. Also despite the sales rep telling me he'd give me a $100 gift card (after I spent $14k+ in appliances), I have not received that either. Definitely consider going elsewhere. read more

SAVE YOURSELF TIME & $$$$! Do not buy from PC Richards & Son; Like EVER!!! Appliances broke (washer, Dryer, Refrigerator, & dishwasher) and took 3 months to get my dishwasher working. Appliances still not working. Horrific Customer service for the money I spent. Better off going to the competitors. read more

The winner for the absolute worst customer service! Been calling the manager, Steve, for 4 days and he does not have the decency to return my call after delivering the wrong appliances and damaged appliances on top of that! Waited on hold today for hours and finally someone picked up the phone and hung it up! Then put the we're closed message on. This place is a disgrace. Buy from anywhere but here! read more
