We have eaten here a few times because it was a close by restaurant for decent Chinese style cuisine. The food was not so great this time but the entertainment value was over the top. It was like watching a cross between Fawlty Towers and White Lotus. First the lady at the next table was waiting for a long time after dinner for her birthday surprise dessert and when the waitress finally arrived and lit the sparkling firework display she failed to turn off the butane torch that she used to light it before placing it back in her apron. The waitress started screaming and I turned to see a blue flame shooting out of her apron. Fortunately(like in her cookie "an old flame brings new warmth") she was able to turn it off without any damage other than a burn hole through her apron. The person who appeared to be the manager(who else could get away with this) was fawning over a table of older ladies. He sat chatting with them until food arrived then he helped to serve them. He was always at their booth the whole time we were there. Strange way to manage an operation. We had an unmemorable appetizer and when our Mongolian Beef entree arrived it was covered with a dozen 10" long raw onion greens tossed on top. Did the chef just get off the panga boat and start working here? All through our time at the restaurant servers were carrying platters from table to table asking patrons if this dish was for them. Keystone Cops in slo-mo. Everyone seemed like it was their first day working in a restaurant. This isn't Panda Express. They even have oversized horse sculptures outside to demonstrate how upscale and grand the Bistro is but on this night Panda Express would have been a better choice for cuisine but here there is a sideshow. read more

The appetizers were ok, the ribs dry rub, felt like they were cooked yesterday. Disappointing. I ordered the wok cooked fillet mignon. It said 8oz. Sliced. It came out looking like steak hash with the largest piece being onions. I callEd it dog food because it was chopped up like a baby. It was chopped up for a baby. It was not sliced. This review hurts because I really wanted to like this location...but the food wasn't good. It wasn't even average...it was bad. We used to go to the La Jolla/UTC location and loved P.F. Chang's for what it was: Asian-American food (mashup of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese). Their lettuce wraps and garlic green beans were the best out there. I won't harp on them too much today for old time's sake. Ordered ~$40 for take out, including MaPo Tofu and this is what we got (see picts). It was my Birthday and I wanted 7 layer Chocolate Cake!! We were going to take a chance that Cheesecake Factory might have the cake I was craving (called around to see if anyone had it, to no avail). I received an email that very day from PF Chang with a picture of a piece of the exact cake I desired, so we changed our reservation and went to PF Chang. I had specified in the reservation that we were celebrating my birthday. What a nice surprise when I got to my table! There was a gold floral placemat with a ceramic crane holding golden chopsticks and a birthday card waiting for me. Restaurant was clean and the candles were gleaming. I especially liked the Chinese soldiers that were wearing masks (funny), since we were timid to venture out into the community. The menu had changed a lot since the plague, so we were a little slow on ordering. Our server, Brandi, was so patient and cheerful, which put us right at ease. We settled on Butter Lobster Dim Sung, Pork Egg Rolls and 2 entrees. The Dim Sung was wonderful; chunks of solid lobster meat in a dumpling with buttery lobster sauce (absolute yum). I had Crispy Honey Shrimp and my Partner ordered a noodle dish that was way too spicy. When our server noticed my partner literally sweating from the spice, she cheerfully recommended we try another dish. She made a suggestion of a Combo Signature Lo Mein and brought it right away. It was dee-licious. While waiting for our dessert (that chocolate cake I was craving), I saw that my little chopstick holding crane said "stolen from PF Chang" on the bottom. So, I promptly stole it! I told our busboy what I had done, and he said the golden chopsticks were mine as well, along with the little gold placemat. When my Birthday cake came out, I was wonderfully surprised that it arrived with a roman candle on it, just like the one in the picture. The Chocolate cake did not disappoint, it was so decadent. I decided to order things that I've never had before and I tried the spare ribs with pineapple fried rice. OMG the spareribs melt in your mouth and the tang from the pineapple fried rice. We went to the restaurant to celebrate a birthday around 3pm on a Saturday. The restaurant was about half full. They were short on staff that day however we only had to wait about 10 minutes before we were seated. The waitress came quickly to take our drink orders and returned later to take our food orders. The food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. They even brought out a special dessert for the birthday girl which we all shared. The only negative was our beverage glasses were empty for quite awhile before we were able to get a refill. read more

This place had about 7 tables with one server. Our server, Asher, is doing a fantastic job. After I asked if their was a manager on duty, he said their were 3. This was alarming. Asher was running around by himself doing all the work and doing a great job. I asked him if he could call out one of the managers, and Matthew greeted me. I let him know my concern, and he did not look the least bit interested in my complaint. Basically shrugged it off and told me "we will make sure Asher gets the help he needs." I didn't see one more person taking any orders besides Asher after our conversation. Not even from 1 of the 3 managers in the back. Guess they don't care if customers get up and leave, or if they choke and need some water. Terrible management in my opinion, giving 2 stars because Asher was doing a great job all by himself. More worst situation was we have to continuously wait and wait and wait to be served the food. Right now, the time is 8:40pm and they're asking us to wait at least 30 min or more. This is ridiculous. I like this place even though it's a chain the food is fairly consistent. While it won't knock your socks off, it's good enough to keep us coming back. Two things I don't like.... they don't know how to cook stir-fry broccoli. Time after time it comes out crunchy, not cooked enough. Also I wish management would train staff to quit saying, "Is everything tasting okay?" What a lame question. It's just as stupid as a customer asking, "Is the chicken salad fresh?" A more relevant question would be, "May I get you anything...is everything okay?" Also please don't refer to the guest as 'guy'...."How's everything goin', guys?" Up your game and get more professional..... One thing I didn't like is we were here once and the server accidentally dropped a plate of schezwan green beans in my purse which was sitting on a chair. Accidents do happen but it's how you handle it that matters. That was a brand new designer purse, ruined because it still smells of that dish. They comped us for the cost of the green beans..... rather cheap since the purse was ruined. They should have either replaced or offered to professionally clean the purse (if that was even possible) or comp the dinner ticket. read more

I haven't been here in quite some time, but it's just as delicious as I remember! Their dishes are family style so if you are ordering an entree keep in mind on how big the portions will be served. We started off with the BBQ spare ribs, the quality was impeccable. The tender, juicy meat ripped right off the bone and the sauce was perfectly seasoned and had me licking my fingers. I also started with an order of the crab wontons. However, I was not impressed; the spicy plum sauce did not compliment the taste and the crab stuffing was nothing great. For our entrees we ordered a classic, Chang's Spicy Chicken as well as the Combination Lo Mein noodles. The chicken wasn't as spicy as I expected, the sauce was actually quite sweet. The noodles were amazing! The flavors combined had my mouth watering and my favorite thing about them was they weren't so greasy. For dessert our server brought me a chocolate mousse with a candle on it. The chocolate was so decadent. Definitely will be back soon read more

I love coming here. They've updated the menu recently but it's still great! This is a great place to go whether you want to have a fancy dinner and want to dress up a bit, or a last minute dinner wearing jeans- in my case some lulu lemons and converse today! This location has a nice bar set up and perfect for happy hour. We picked up a Costco $100 gift card for $80 and headed over after shopping. I started off with their new Mongolian potstickers. Delicious! Crispy but still full of flavor and juicy. I haven't had anything on the menu I didn't like! The portions are large, perfect for sharing or get two and split! So disappointed in my experience here tonight. Family and I have been coming since they opened, however tonight was like nothing we've ever experienced. Placed an order online for a family for 4 dinner as well as an extra order of kung pao shrimp. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen but ALL the food was beyond salty and the lettuce wraps were so wilted (the sauce spilled all over them so we got wilted lettuce and no sauce). When I called to tell the manager about the lettuce wraps he implied that I was lying. "I've worked here for 3 years and I've never heard this happening." I told him I wasn't lying and I could send him a picture. He was like no I believe you you can just come in and get more lettuce wraps. Like seriously please get it together mr. manager. If the quality of food continues to go down as well as the customer service well then we won't be the only ones who won't return. read more
