Food tasted shitty, couldn't even finish it. Totally crap practically inedible. Not authentic

Food was GREAT! Hostess sucks, every time we come in they always use the same excuse. "We have a lot of tables coming in, so I can take your name and seat you in approximately 15 minutes." Someone came in behind us and exact same excuse to them. It was 15 minutes and he seated us, however NO ONE came in while we waited or even 20 minutes after we go seated. Just for the record I counted the tables and 16 tables were open. Note: I don't mind waiting a few minutes but stop blowing smoke up people. A simple statement "We're short on servers tonight so there will be a short wait" Or maybe a simple "There will be a short wait, I'll get you seated in a few minutes" But stop lying, you look like an idiot. read more

Haven't been the PFC in years. The menu has changed and the prices have been increased but the portions have not. Service was good didn't have to wait to long to get a seat: it's always dark in there but that's fine. I got the chicken lettuce cups which tasted great but you can get better Chinese food with better pricing and portion at locally own Chinese restaurants. read more

Honestly, one of my favorite restaurants. Being celiac, I don't have that many places to eat where I don't have to be concerned about cross contamination. We've had a few times with slower service or time for food to come out but servers have always gone above and beyond to fix the situation. My fave thing is the Chang's Spicy Chicken. So good. And now you can get fried rice as a side. You wouldn't be able to tell that any of this is gluten free. And that makes my life amazing. I never leave feeling left out or unfulfilled. read more

Strange evening! 40 minute scheduled wait turned into an hour. Got seated and didn't get drinks(sodas) for another 20 minutes, ordered 3 bowls of wonton soup, lettuce wraps, something like drunken noodle, and and Asian salad. Soup took forever to hit the table while watching other tables get served. Then after my 3rd soda that I was drinking very slow our main food came out. The noodles were so salty that none of us could eat them so I asked for a substitute dish of Phad Thai. That took another 30 minutes, mind you the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full. So at the near 3 hour mark I received my phad thai that was supposed to be to-go and a nice response that they would get me a box and the soup was free from all the delays. I get the bill which they charged me for both noodle dishes. I told them I was OK with paying for the Phad Thai but wasn't paying for the salty dish. Another 10 minutes goes then was able to pay with a nice tip as I'm in the holiday spirit. I get home and tried the phad thai, watery and without flavor. Honestly the worst food that I've ever had from PFGs and not sure if it was new chefs or recipes not being followed. I ended up throwing away the noodles, now hungry with a roiling sore stomach. I like to eat, will rarely if ever complain but I can no longer recommend PFGs. read more

We stopped here for lunch on a weekday. We have been to P.F. Chang's in various parts of the country, but this was our first time here. It was similar to the other times we have been there. Food was good. Portions were plentiful. The standout was our waiter Steve. He was very personable and extremely attentive. He brought drink refills without being asked. My valentines date was so amazing!!!The lady's at the front desk was the only bad part.They we're not very inviting and honestly rude when they sat you.When we were dining it was a whole different experience though!!!There was a great inviting friendly and funny staff worker chris who I think deserves a raise!!!He made me and my fiancé actually feel like we were having a Valentine's Day date!!He made the night feel extra special with the care that he took in making sure we need everything and also being very nice and considerate I loved todays dinner and will most definitely be coming back for Valentine's Day again or just for lunch or the regular now!!!!Chris definitely made the night extra special!!!one of the best workers I've saw the whole night!! read more

I called in a curbside order for dinner. I ordered the Crispy Honey Chicken with fried rice as the side because it looked so good in the pictures and I had eaten it before at a different P.F. Changs. When I got home and opened the container it looked like they gave me a very small serving of fried rice, like it was only half full. The Crispy Honey Chicken looked nothing like the pictures. The taste was good, a bit too much honey sauce. The crunchy part was not crunchy, the texture was like foam. I think what was supposed to be the green onions were not tasty and looked like they shouldn't be there. I was not impressed with my visit and I would think twice before going there again. read more

We ordered take-out. My daughter can't have gluten, so we love that PF Chang's can accommodate her. She loves their chicken fried rice. Tonight I was feeding 6 people. We ordered the aforementioned GF fried rice and two "family-style" orders: chicken and broccoli with white rice, and sesame beef. with fried rice. We also ordered an "Asian Salad." I put that in quotation marks because it was, basically, a Caesar Salad with wontons instead of croutons. Not even Asian dressing. And how Asian is Parmesan Cheese? The sauce on the beef was delicious, but it was grainy like the thickener hadn't fully dissolved. The white rice was brown in places from being stuck at the bottom of the pot. Finally, "family-style" is not specific enough about size. The website says: "Sized to pass, share, and enjoy with everyone at the table." How many is everyone? 2, 4, 6, 10? Then I tried to add chopsticks and fortune cookies, not realizing I was supposed to add one for each person. So...we had a family fortune tonight with one cookie. I don't know how this location stacks up against others, but I feel like they're trading on name recognition here. I guess I'll go back because of the GF options, but I won't be excited about it. What a pleasant surprise on a Friday evening. The best time to dine at PFs is at 9:00 PM. There was no wait and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The ambiance was family oriented this evening and not loud like usual. We sat in a booth in the back of the restaurant. Great booth location with the ability to hear one another conversations. The food and wine was exceptional this evening. We ordered Treana wine. Which is always amazing. They have the best wine selections. For dinner we orders 3 vegetable lo mein. The lo mein was super fresh and had amazing flavors. It has a robust selection of vegetables. The Hot and sour soup was delicious as well. We had a server by the name of Chris whom was very attentive and frankly one of the best server I have had at PFs. Overall experience was fantastic from the ambiance to the food and the service. This place opened around my senior year of high school and back then I heard it was terribly expensive--for a teenager I guess this tracks. But it wasn't unreasonable. The interior and atmosphere were nice and the server and hostess were as nice and outgoing as can be. My cocktail was delicious and I suppose $13 is the going rate for such a thing but I question whether it was $13 good. The food was...not my favorite American Asian. There are a number of takeouts I'd rather get (Eat Rice, CJ Chan, Young Chow, North Village all come to mind). In this price bracket I'm certain I'd prefer a trip to Ariake. The egg rolls were fine, but nothing to write home about. I think they sort of cover the lack of personality with a sauce that's on the overpowering side. The dumplings by contrast were superb, and very large. My girlfriend enjoyed her noodle dish and I sampled it--it was good. She and I disagreed about my broccoli; people often tell me the broccoli I cook in my Chinese at home is too crispy, but this by comparison was even more crisp. Kind of a chore to chew. The rice was also somehow too hard, as if it hadn't been cooked quite long enough. The steak in my meal was all right and the sauce pretty good (reminded me of China Cottage, but safer, like less personality) but the kind of steak seemed a little weird. Flank steak I think? It was kind of like little accordions in my mouth. Just not the kind I'd have used, I guess. Again, the staff were lovely; there was nothing explicitly wrong with our experience, and I don't need to be 'wowed'. But it didn't leave much of an impression. There are so many interesting, tasty, affordable, or authentic choices in the greater Dayton are that I don't feel particularly compelled to return. Perhaps we just caught them on an off night. For the past few years when we have eaten at this location it has been consistently poor service and a progressively even worse food experience. Back in the day when you would go to PF Changs it was a fun and delicious experience. Back in the day, when you ordered lettuce wraps for example, the waiter would come to your table and present three different sauces to mix. I wish I could say that my biggest complaint was the fact that they no longer bring out three sauces for the lettuce wraps. I have had the pleasure of eating at PEI WEI, which is the fast food version of PF Changs, and the quality of food has been 10 times better. Our last visit to this location the waiter brought out small triangular shaped lettuce that was less than 3 inches wide and in which no way you could possibly make a lettuce wrap. why would you even bring that to the table? Then the food came out and it was extremely greasy and extremely high and MSG. The shrimp was of poor quality and not prepared correctly. This was our third try at giving PF Changs a pass and we will never go back again to this location and likely any other location. This location used to do a booming business and now it's not difficult at all to get a seat. This location is so poorly managed that I cannot believe there is a manager present. read more

I've been to a number of P.F. Chang's locations and always feel I get a good value. Good service, good food, good price, no complaints. Tonight this location knocked it out of the park. The bartender was attentive and engaging both before and after the meal. The server was top notch. She was well-informed, friendly and helpful in every way. The food was delicious. I've paid considerably more and gotten considerably less than I did at P. F. Chang's Dayton, OH this evening. I'd have dinner here anytime! read more

I had exceptionally great service lastnight when picking up my carryout order at Dayton Mall location. Abby took my order over the phone and was so nice and professional! The manager even went out of his way and gave me an extra order of egg rolls because one of mine was slightly overcooked and a free order of crab Rangoon. The service from both Abby and the manager was first class! Abby even went and got an extra bag for me because my bag was slightly full. I called in an order on Tuesday Jan 4th at around 8PM. It was an easy order of sushi and everything went through as usual with Uber Eats. We were given a delivery window for around 8:50PM. When no one arrived with our dinner, we checked Uber Eats app and there was a message from PF Changs that they had cancelled our order, saying they didn't "have time" to get to our order. That was to be our dinner, so we were obviously very upset that no one from PF Changs were professional enough to call us, so that we'd have the opportunity to order from someone else at that time of the evening. We had been ordering from PF Changs pretty regularly and we were disappointed and disgusted by the unprofessionalism. They obviously don't really care about their customers or they would have at least given us a phone call!! We will never give them our business again! LEA read more

What happened to P.F. Chang's?! This was the most disappointing visit we've ever had, and it seems as if the chain has made some new changes that my husband and I just weren't fans of. The Dayton location was beautiful inside and out, but the staff were all slow and kept tripping over their lines as if everyone was a newbie in training. We went on a Friday at about 2:00pm and there were only about 10 other diners, but the hostess tried to seat us at a communal booth right in between 2 other couples (we declined) and we had to wait about 20 minutes for our meals to finally be delivered. Not a great start. For appetizers, we ordered the new Tempura Cauliflower and Chicken Satay. The cauliflower was large, fresh chunks of veg and was covered in a sticky, slightly spicy glaze and topped with sesame seeds. I loved the flavor, but I most certainly would NOT call this "tempura" since I seen no batter anywhere. Glazed? Yes. Tempura? Nope. Tasted very good, but false advertising in my opinion. The chicken satay was pretty to look at but had zero flavor. Good thing they served it with a peanut sauce, which was way too thin for proper dipping but at least it had a little nutty flavor to perk up the bland, boiled tasting chicken skewers. I ordered the Crispy Honey Chicken as my meal since I have always enjoyed it in the past. This time, the portions were TINY. Chang's now seemed to have switched over to small square plates, so I was served something that looked more like a half lunch portion rather than the larger dinner portions I was used to. The only way I knew I had been served the dinner meal I had ordered was when I seen the bill...almost $16 for such a small plate?!?! There was also no honey flavor at all to this chicken. Just tasted like fried little chunks of meat, no sweetness at all. So disappointing since I had my heart set on a big ol' plate of delicious food. My husband ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken. His portion was slightly larger for some reason, but his chicken and glaze tasted exactly like mine. No flavor. Our white rice was sticky and cold, so we both left hungry and bummed out. Not sure if this sad experience is just for the Dayton location or if P.F. Chang's has changed their portions and flavor profiles across the board, but either way we probably won't be heading back to this chain for a very, VERY long time. read more

I have given PF Changs so many chances to awe me and they just don't. I think there egg rolls are okay but everything else is just blah. They lack flavor. I think they just go on presentation, cause there stuff does look somewhat in the I want category. The lunch portions are so small and so expensive looking at $8.50+. I tried the kids lo mein today and it was disgusting it was just noodles with soy sauce and about three tiny pieces of chicken. For the price this place is so not worth it. I do have to say the lettuce wraps are the only thing i would go in and get and i would need a free coupon again to drag me in here. I have tried three different branches of this restaurant and have been disappointed each time. Go to your local china man you'll enjoy him much better and you will promote your local business for the better. read more

We ordered dinner using their delivery service and I will never order from them again. The delivery service uses door Dash and our order arrived 20 minutes late. The food was cold and had to be reheated in the microwave. I ordered sushi which was placed in between two hot entrees so the sushi was inedible when it arrived. The crab Rangoon was soggy. We were missing short ribs that we ordered and fried rice which we paid for and neither were in the bag. For spending $100 on a delivery meal I honestly would've expected more from this restaurant. We keep giving PF Chang's chances although each time it keeps failing. I would not eat at P.F. Chang's again. read more

I can not celebrate the change in this P.F. Chang's more. We have been going to the Dayton restaurant for 10 years and we are frequent members. Steve is a server who is amazing and has made this a go-to place now for us. We used to go for the food occasionally but we repeatedly go for lunch now because of how Steve has changed the organizational climate. He teaches us about the food in new and different ways, is an active listener and is a joy to see when working. His excellence blew us away and we are impressed with the current manager who is a WSU graduate who intimately knows the area and connects with people and the geography and this is so needed especially for franchises. A stop for lunch and I was suprised that they either do not have or did not give me a lunch menu? The dinner menu is not a very good value at night but for lunch its just overpriced. I ordered a new sushi roll for $10.25. When it arrived it was tiny. Bartender spent half my meal talking about his problems with a customer. I became very sad for him. Don't understand this business model. The food is subpar at best. The meal started with pork dumpling appetizer and it wasn't too bad. I had the Lo Mein combo with beef and shrimp and the shrimp was way over cooked and extremely small, and veggies under cooked. My wife had the Chang's spicy chicken and it was no different than heating up a frozen bag you'd find at your local grocery store. The rice was dry and crunchy, far from soft and sticky. We didn't have drinks and the bill was $60 including tip 20%. So the price is fairly cheap in my opinion. This leads back to my first point what's the business model. I can get better quality food at the mall or at a mom and pop. I'm willing to pay more for a better experience and quality of food. I just can't understand the target market. It's not worth your time to come here. There are many other choices that will exceed the quality of food you'll get here. Stay away until P.F Chang decides to revamp this business strategy. read more

I went there to get take out so I sat at the bar. I was told by the bartender that I couldn't get happy hour prices for take out. So I decided to just eat at the bar. The bartender didn't ask if I wanted an entree, just assumed I wanted appetizers. Don't assume!! He didn't ask if I wanted anything else at all!! Just brought me the bill. Then I realized he was in a hurry because he was leaving!! I shouldn't have tipped him, but I did!! A lot!! More than 20%! More than he deserved!! My girlfriend and I went here on Saturday and Jackie was our server and also the bartender. She was fabulous and I think we've had her before but she was running all over with a full bar and tables in the dining room! The chicken noodle soup was everything I remembered it being before and the wagyu steak was cooked perfectly! My girlfriend is pretty picky (don't tell her I said that) but Jackie was so patient and able to get her exactly what she wanted. The sticky toffee dessert was incredible! Definitely recommend it! Brandon the manager stopped by to see how everything was when we were just about to leave and wow what a professional guy! PF Chang's is always a winner for our family! On our most recent visit, we ordered the Beef & Broccoli, the Sesame Chicken and the Sweet and Sour Chicken. Our family of 3 shared the entrees. All 3 were delicious!! The Sweet & Sour Chicken is the best I've ever had! The Sesame Chicken was perfect and so was the Beef & Broccoli. I've never had a bad meal here! We've tried most of the entrees and loved them all. Our least favorite is the Orange Peel Chicken, but it's still really good! The egg rolls are also excellent. The service is always top notch and we've never left disappointed. If you join the loyalty club, you'll earn free entrees! read more

We eat here primarily because they have an excellent Gluten Free menu for our daughter who is a Celiac. Their attention to detail of this area is usually Top Notch with separate plates dedicated to food allergy dishes. Unfortunately, they slipped up with one of the deserts since it appears the cherry sauce on the chocolate desert may have had gluten. This cause the loss of two stars. Other than that, the appetizers and main course were very good. I eecially enjoyed the Shaghai Garlic Shrimp. Perfectly Cooked, very tasty and right sized portion. It was very dark outside, none of the outside lights were on. It looked closed. Service staff was welcoming, attentive, and very kind. The facility was clean. Wine selection is fantastic. It took the bartender 30 minutes to get our drinks ready for the server, a glass of pinot and a bottle of beer. On a Thursday night at 6:45. It wasn't busy at all. We were seated straight away. And we ordered another beer later that we just never got, and had it taken off the bill. The food was meh. My street noodles were overwhelmingly pungent with ginger! And I like ginger, but it was ridiculous. The spicy tuna wasn't tight and was cut in huge awkward pieces. And we ordered egg rolls but they never came. So we went ahead and had them brought out, and they were different, and sub par. Our server was new so I didn't ask for a manager. We had a nice enough time. But I expect better, especially when spending $50pp. There is obviously a compromise in quality happening. And it's very sad. The last time we visited was six months ago. And we had the same kind of things happening. And I was hoping it was just an off night. So I would venture to say it's a management issue, because the staff was lovely. If you want good Asian food this is a good place to go. The portions are great for sharing and/ or taking the rest home for another meal. They do have gluten free options. Just make sure to let your server know you so that your food is handled and prepared in the correct manner.
