However, the option to sit at the bar, contingent upon presenting our IDs, was extended to us, which we accepted without issue.Shortly after settling at the bar, we encountered a peculiar inquiry from a staff member questioning if we hailed from Utah. Given that all our identification clearly indicated our Utah residency, the relevance of such a question seemed misplaced, if not suggestive, leaving us to ponder if our racial identity might have influenced this line of questioning. Determined not to let this dampen our spirits, we endeavored to enjoy the evening. Initially, our waiter, Ricky, approached us with a semblance of cordiality, which swiftly dissipated as he began to falter in accurately fulfilling our order. Upon our courteous request for the correction of these errors, Ricky's demeanor took a turn for the worse. He escalated to demanding a tip prematurely, responding with outright rudeness when one of us declined due to the unsatisfactory service. His remarks were astonishingly unprofessional, insinuating a lack of financial means for tipping and further demeaning her character.This incident raised significant concerns regarding the appropriateness of such interactions in a professional setting, especially directed at a group of educated Black women who are contributing members of Utah's economy and society. In search of resolution, we sought dialogue with the supervisor, hoping for an acknowledgment of Ricky's conduct. Compounding our disappointment, the management escalated the situation by calling security on us, an unnecessary and distressing response. .Our experience at PF Chang transcends mere dissatisfaction with service; it is indicative of a deeper issue of racial profiling and discrimination. We are compelled to publicly address the management at PF Chang, urging them to recognize and rectify the improper handling of our grievance. One interesting note was the wasabi they used. I've never seen wasabi that was this light pale color and more "watery" than typical wasabi. It was also far spicier, which is a good thing. The service was also SUPER friendly. The waitress was super attentive, and the sushi chef actually came out and talked to us for a bit .
