There are two PJ's 5 mins from each other. I recommend going to the one in Allentown. The bartender was incompetent and unprofessional here. Came in to pick up an order said my name she said they finishing the order proceeded to have me wait 20 mins while she ate an order of wings IN FRONT OF ME, just to ask what my name for the order was AGAIN and told me it wasn't in the system. I think they flipped my kids honey bbq wings in something hot. We recently ordered takeout and my poor kids ate the honey bbq, which was hotter than the hot n honey the adults ordered. We tried it and couldn't believe they were so spicy. Bummer, but not going to make that mistake again. read more

What a gorgeous, intimate pub setting. Lady Matilda and I found this location by chance coming back from a conference at LVCC on cryptozoological evolution. The dining area and bar are small, but it is such a warm setting that we settled in quickly between the kitchen door and rest room alcove. It had a wide view of the old wood and rustic decor. There were three people handling the dining room, bar, and runner between. Matilda and I ordered the pub's "signature" burgers and fries. I ordered the JD Bacon Burger and PJ's Famous Fries. Matilda ordered a basic bacon cheese burger with Famous Fries. The front of the house seemed light for the number of people dining and drinking, but they hustled and were friendly. They were busting butt to make sure everyone was taken care for. We arrived at the same time as a party of nine and our orders went back first. It took forty minutes to get our meals. Keep in mind, these are basic hamburgers and fries. Matilda's order was wrong. The fries I received were nothing special despite having the pub's name on them. Thinking we would have to wait another half-hour for Matilda to get what she ordered, we were ready to just cash out and go. But the replacement was served in less than five minutes. Lady Matilda didn't consider it a great burger for the price, but it was what she ordered. The fries were just ordinary crinkle-cuts. I ordered something with "bite" but I didn't even taste the Old Bay. The cheese was great, but to make this a signature side, I expected a spice or a spark more than Old Bay. There was more cheese than the order of fries needed. I actually dipped my burger in it because it was a tasty condiment for burger. The "maple ketchup" didn't really work. The front of the house is warm and inviting. The TVs on the wall took away from the cottage pub experience, but not by a lot. We were there 90 minutes for lunch. The burgers are okay, but not so remarkable that I'd put my name on it. I would visit again because I get the feeling based on the number of people thee who seemed to be regulars and therefore our experience was the exception. read more

I had to go to the bar to pay the check. the bartender was apologetic, a really big to go order was in the works she explained. I went to PJ's at the Walbert with my girlfriend I ordered a cheese steak with fries and she ordered loaded tater tots and wings. Her meal came out about 20 minutes before mine came out so basically we ate separately her tater tots were missing the bacon, instead of taking the order back and bringing a new order they brought a cup of bacon (10 minutes later) and had her dump it on herself. a cold dish with hot bacon. nice huh? We had to practically beg for silverware, napkins, salt, pepper and ketchup. You would think they would at least remove the tater tots from the bill but nothing. The bartender did apologize about 10 times. I wrote to the manager of the Wahlberg and PJ's corporate telling them about my experience I got no response. read more

This is a really convenient place to stop in if you live close-by but there's really no other reason to go. I used to enjoy stopping in because the wings were tasty but the quality of the food has gone down over the years and it seems every time I visit now, the place is dirtier and the food quality is lower. One good thing is the bartenders have always been friendly and the owner seems to be a really great guy as well. I feel bad because I really want to like this place more than I do but I just can't. The bar area is very, I mean VERY tiny as well. So it makes things even more uncomfortable when you just want to relax. And they do close rather early most nights. Line out the door...and now I know why. I was here on business on a Tuesday and little did I know that Tuesday's are half-price wing night. What I DID know was that I had a long day and needed a place that had good food, great people and cold beer. PJ's nailed it. I found me the only seat left at the bar as the restaurant was packed. The smiling bartender was all over my drink order immediately and also gave me some pointers on the menu. She was awesome right out of the gate. Even though it was half-price wing night, the buffalo shrimp were calling to me so I answered and ordered me some. Shortly I was looking at 5 succulent butterflied shrimp awash in the house Hit Sauce. And it was a hit indeed! Snappy crunch, wonderful, full flavor of heat and shrimp meat and blue cheese dressing with cubes of blue cheese equal in size to a Yahtzee die. Outstanding! Alas, I was still hungry. So I ordered a 10 pack of wings, half with the Hot n Honey and half with Inferno sauce. The cute bartender brought out two 10 packs of wings, so basically doubled my order. When I told the bartender that they doubled my order, she looked at the other bartender and they said "ahhhh, it's okay. Eat those." So, I did. The chicken wings had a crispy, full flavor, loaded with meat and the sauce seeps into the wing even two or three bites deep. The heat stays with you. The Hot n Honey is laced with - what else - rich, honey undertones. And the Inferno had me licking my sauce-covered and blue-cheese-covered fingers like a kid licking a lollipop. Man... Back in the day PJ's was the place to go. It was one of my favorites. Then the expansion to other cities, the franchising and PJ's started to lose it. The Walbert was one of my favorite places I would go weekly but I stopped because the prices kept going up and the quality kept going down. It's been a few years so I have them a shot again. Nothing has improved. The wings are so much smaller than they used to be. The prices are crazy high too. Sad to say, like a girl you were madly in love with but that live started to fade, my love for PJ's is gone. You've changed too much PJ's and it's really sad read more

I can see how this place might be nice for a local to go grab some wings or have a beer at the bar with their wings - especially when a game is on (lots of TVs) but definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone to go have some dinner with family and/or friends. Appetizer special was horrible (must note that manager(?) removed from our bill and even admitted he didn't like it) Salad had REALLY old cucumbers on it and maybe two cups of red onions which was an odd choice of all things to go heavy on. Other "bar food" items were just subpar. Service - waitresses were very nice and seemed to work together but overheard them constantly apologizing for what seemed to be consistent kitchen mess ups (burnt food and timing). Overall big fat thumbs down. I most note that I was out of town and live by other PJs locations, so in comparison this place was horrible. read more

I walked in to watch the eagles game on TV. After ordering a beer, the only guy in a steelers hat asks to put on the steelers game. They put it on the main screen, the one the audio is tied to. At this point, I had to ask if they intend to broadcast the eagles audio. They decided they had more steelers fans. But what made tonight special, was our server, Megan, who was also acting as shift manager. She went out of her way to accommodate us, even though the restaurant was jammed because of trivia night. After checking the website where it said Tuesday's half price wings special we headed out to PJ's around 2pm and ordered 4 order of wings, by the time we got the check we were surprised it wasn't half price as the website said... Little did the website say on their main page that it started at 3pm. Our waitress said "oh I'm really sorry!! You were so close to get the half price", we were expecting a little more of consideration, we were the only ones in the restaurants, who goes in the middle of the afternoon for wings anyway? It was clear we went down there for the special and they couldn't do an exception when we were so close in time. We are really disappointed with the service, we just moved to our new place which is two minutes away from Pj's and we were looking forward for many half price Tuesdays, now instead, we left Pj's with a bittersweet taste in our mouths. In restaurant business you always have to make sure your costumers leave happy so then you can expect many more visits... We were visiting for the first time, they could have done way better since their website didn't specify the time of the half price special. Such a shame our waitress couldn't put a bigger effort in offering a better service. The least she could of done was recommend we grab a drink in the bar and wait for the wings to be half off but she was silent about mentioning the special didn't start until 3 even after we ordered the 40 wings. read more

For thosue used to PJ's larger new venues in Philly at Wells Fargo Center or the former converted Bennigans (Bethlehem/ West Chester - big hits) - you'll love the same menu in the intimate environment of this old roadhouse/hotel. Outdoor dining in decent weather. Always lively. Nestled off busy Route 309, just a minute north of Route 22 (behid Daniels BMW) and 3 minytes form the Tilghman Street PJ's, it's larger sibling. Only the locals know about the little bro - so it's a bit of a well kept secret for out of towners. read more

The negatives: Small bar area. Uncomfortable bar seats...which is understandable because of how old it is. However you would think there would be something they could do to improve it. They have a lot of regulars who walk in like they own the place. They do NOT properly pour a Guinness. The positives: The fries. The wings. I actually enjoy both. I've never had an issue with them. The bartenders are nice...just not very fast. So don't come in if you are in a hurry. Overall I'd say you are better off going to the Broadway location. I haven't been to the other locations. I've been to the PJ Whelihan's on Tilgham for wing nights but wished there was another location that was less crowded. My friend took me to this location for Wing Night and I had a much better experience. Tuesdays are Wing Night so all their wings are half off. I ordered my wings with mild and my friend had the hot and honey. Both sauces were delicious and they provided us with endless blue cheese dressing and celery to cool the heat down. They also gave us wet wipes which are essential in the buffalo wing eating experience. This would be a great place to catch up with old friends while drinking some beer and eating delicious wings. read more

This is a great place for beer, burgers, and wings. It has a nice porch that is open on warm days. The service has always been wonderful.
