I…read morealways shop local and small business when possible and this company has all of the negatives and none of the positives. No accountability or ownership of mistakes. When I had our estimate we specifically asked if the baseboard needed to be removed and we were told no. I made it clear that I would remove them if necessary to ensure they could be labeled and reinstalled. We were assured the baseboards were installed at a height that enabled the installer to work with it in. When we proceeded with the proposal the installer showed up and removed the baseboards from my entire house without telling me. He broke them all, threw them in my front yard, and left my house a mess. I attempted on multiple occasions to reach out to the manager with my frustrations and he was never around, never called me back, or followed up. They cost me thousands of dollars and countless hours to stain, sand, refinish, and install new baseboards at the same time we were welcoming our first child. I will never forget the disrespect and poor service provided by this company. Please take your business anywhere else but here!!!

Not great, not honest, not customer-focused A week ago…read moreMonday I phoned Great Floors in Shoreline and ordered ~45 sq ft of Daltile. I had tried to purchase it direct from Daltile but they directed me to Great Floors or another supplier and said it was "in-stock" in Portland. I spoke with Jim Verdier at the Shoreline Great Floors on the phone and he took my money and said "Wednesday or Friday" from Portland. Tuesday Morning came and Jim V. Said it would instead be a week from Friday. This would put my project at a huge delay and he said his rep "was trying to drive it up to Seattle sooner". He also confirmed that there were 14sq ft in Seattle that were from the same run of tile as the balance of the stock in Portland. While waiting for the rep to respond, I tried to figure out how I could make it down to Portland from Seattle to get the tile so that my project could advance. Meanwhile, day by day, no answers came as to when it would be delivered from Portland and apparently no concern about my situation. I was the one calling or even driving up to Shoreline to try to get answers. On Thursday I finally phoned when no response came from my email it to learn it was Jim V's day off though there was no notice, no email out of office message and no follow up as to our urgent need to lock in a plan for delivery. Friday I called into Daltile myself and learned that the order was never placed to Portland. It was placed to California and arriving on a truck Friday, June 13. At this point Jim still insisted the rep was going to "drive it up to Seattle Monday or Tuesday but if he didn't have time it would be on a truck Wednesday and finally arrive to the store on Friday, June 13. I confronted Jim and shared what I learned and insisted that he fix the issue with Daltile and that I be able to pickup the tile myself in Portland on Monday, June 9. He declined since he "hadn't heard from the rep still" and I said I needed to cancel the order and get a full refund. We did drive to Portland, purchased the tile from Floor Factors and it's up and looking great. However, I have yet to get a phone call from the manager, Jim Dahl, as to my request to receive a full refund. Monday, he was already gone for the day and I left a voicemail. Tuesday, Jim V told me I would have to pay a 25% restocking fee. I declined and asked to speak with Jim Dahl. Never heard back. Wednesday, Jim V told me they were still "waiting to hear back from Daltile on taking the tile back" - different answer than the day before. Still no call from the manager, no apology, no resolution. I paid with a check to save the credit card fee otherwise, I would have canceled via them. And as slow as these guys are on helping customers, they aren't slow on cashing checks.

I recently had Don refinish my maple hardwood floors that were last done over 20 years ago…read more Because of the previous finish on the floors it took longer to sand than expected. The equipment he uses does a great job & it vacuumed up the dust as he went along. Don always let me know when he'd be here & was always on time.He explained every step of the way so I knew what to expect. Before starting to put the stain on, he put several colors on the floor to decide what color I wanted. Before staining he also had to replace several boards, which you can't even tell. He put 4 coats of low semi gloss to protect my floors from normal wear & tear as well as scratches from animals. He made sure that each layer had ample time to dry. For the amount of time it took to get the job done, I thought his prices are very fair. A friend recommended Don to me & I'm so thankful that she did. If you are looking for someone with great workmanship & responsible, I definitely would highly recommend Don.

Don is one of the most professional independent guys I've ever dealt with. He really works hard to assure the best possible finish to your floor with minimal dust and odors. We had some water damage to our living room floor that he originally installed about 7 years ago and he came back and removed the damaged panels, installed new wood that matched perfectly, sanded and sealed, stained and applied two coats of finish. The floor looks spectacular! Don is a hard worker and really nice guy. He will do a great job for you. Great at communication too.

We wanted the floors revived and refinished before we moved in, and Vlad and his brothers were communicative, transparent, quick, and professional. Our project was split into multiple steps (because of us, not them) and they graciously planned around us and came back multiple times throughout the project. They even gave us the suggestion of starting the floors, and then coming back to finish them after we finished painting walls because of dust, debris, etc., to make sure we were happiest with the end result. When we had questions or any concerns, they were quick to call, give tips, and come back to assess or change something based on our preferences. They even gave us some of the product they used so we could match our baseboards and fill them the way they suggested. I would highly recommend them for any flooring project.

They are family-run business (Serhii, his brother and family members do all the work), Serhii is a great communicator and he responded to my detailed questions in writing very clearly while some other contractors don't care to spend that time/effort. Their pricing is also pretty fair. During the project they worked hard and kept the schedule as promised. During the process some unanticipated issues came up and they showed flexibility and willingness to change the scope of the project and schedule accordingly. They are detail oriented. After we had them reinstall all baseboards there was one place we were not quite happy, they came back and fixed it. The end result was beautiful and it had been a great experience working with Serhii and his family crew! Northwest Flooring is definitely at the top of my list for any of our future hardwood flooring needs!

Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that their white grout can have a tendency to turn yellow over time. I also later learned that many professional tile installers refuse to use Laticrete white epoxy grout because of this issue. Because epoxy grout cures as hard as cement, the problem was extremely difficult to fix. To make matters worse, the contractor who originally installed it refused to fix the problem. I spoke with several professionals and was told that the only options were either to remove and replace all of the tile or use a grinder to remove the yellowed grout, which could chip and damage the marble. After doing extensive research, including using ChatGPT, Sir Grout was recommended as the best company for the job. There was only one person at Sir Grout who had both the experience to remove Laticrete epoxy grout and the willingness to take on such a challenging project. His name is David, and he is awesome. Not a single tile was damaged during the process, and he used a different manufacturer's white grout that will not turn yellow. Sir Grout also provides a one-year written guarantee on the grout work. In addition, the white tile itself had begun to show yellow staining, and Sir Grout was able to remove almost all of those stains as well. Needless to say, I will be using Sir Grout enthusiastically for any and all future projects involving tile or grout. "$8,844.00 is paid to Sir Grout Seattle, LLC. When they called back, they were apologetic that the earliest time they could talk to use was two days later, at 9am on a Saturday. I honestly expected at least a week to even hear back from them, so that was a pleasant surprise. Chase, who came to do our consultation, was great. Very professional, very nice, and very well prepared. Chase took all the relevant measurements of our bathroom and then sat down with us to show us all the options of what Bath Fitter could do for what we wanted. He brought samples and sample plates so that we could see and feel what the options were for color and texture were for the surround. He had small fixtures in different colors so we could see how they would go with the surround, and glass samples for the doors. Once we had our options squared away, Chase told it we would receive a call in about five weeks to schedules, once all of the parts had been manufactured and received. He gave us our total for everything, we agreed, and signed the paperwork, and paid the deposit. Almost exactly five weeks later, I got a call to schedule our install. I was asked if Bath Fitter could come over two days, one for tearout, one for install. I said sure and they were very easy to schedule with, allowing me to pick the days (Monday and Tuesday) so I wouldn't have to miss time at work. I then received a followup call last week asking if it was okay if they came earlier on Monday and did everything in one day. Of course I agreed and was told the team would show up between 8am and 10am, with a phone call ahead of their arrival, and they would be finishing up between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm. This morning (6/20/22) the team of Daryl and Chris arrived at 8:45am. I showed them the bathroom and they got straight to work. It was a great sight to see that old bathtub leave the condo! To our great surprise, they had torn everything out, redone the plumbing, and installed the new shower in just over three hours! Including brand new hardware and safety rails that are actually attached to the wall instead of just in the fiberglass! Daryl gave us the grand tour and everything looks fantastic! The only downside is that one of the corner shelf units we ordered wasn't available, but once it is, we'll get a call to schedule that piece of the install at no extra charge! We're incredibly happy with Bath Fitter!
