I like it because sometimes, you just need a good fast food burger that's not all bougie and comes with what should on burger. Also, their fries are good. If you like In-N-Out you will like this better. In-N-Out is good but their fries are the worst which makes this a better option in my opinion. The ambiance is about the same at both. read more

When you lived in Austin for most of your life, P. Terry's is a staple for quick and delicious meals. I'm glad to have the option of two relatively close locations. Even if they aren't really close, I will go out of my way for some grub. My favorite is the spicy crispy chicken sandwich, but somehow I almost always end up getting the grilled chicken. The veggie burger and cheeseburger are next in my order of preference. On our last visit, the service was super friendly, patient, and quick. We grabbed our utensils, drinks, and ketchup from the nice and clean self serve station and enjoyed our food. No question, I'll be back. read more

P Terry's is one of my favorite lunch spots. I normally get two #3s as lettuce wraps and they are very good. Today I ordered their P Scarry Halloween special. 4 meat Pattie's, bacon, cheese, grilled onions and jalapeños. I also got it as a lettuce wrap. Sounds like a good combo but, I have to say, I did not find it as tasty as my usual #3, probably just me but I like my usual #3 better. Service was outstanding as usual with courteous and friendly staff and meal being ready in just a few minutes. I will definitely eat at P Terry's again but will leave this particular specialty burger for others . lol read more

I was hesitant to try this place because of almost every food establishment in San Antonio is shockingly not good. Either the food looks smells good and tastes flavorless or is not authetic. P. Terry's Burger on Fredericksburg Rd and Wurzbach is about a 5-minute drive from our house in San Antonio so after disappointing burger experience at Jim's on Hillcrest and Fredericksburg Rd, we needed to get a different burger experience. The P. Tery's burger and fries remind me of an In-n-Out double-double. This burger comes close to it. The 25 - 30 minute drive to an In-n-Out keeps me home at P. Terry's though! During the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021, my wife and I went to P. Terry's for lunch. In 2022, after her knee rehab in the Med center, we would head out to P. Terry's for lunch. We are so glad that we went and ate there again for lunch last week. The service is fast, you order the food from the counter, pay for it and after finding a table, we just wait for the number to be called. Even on a busy lunch time, we got our food in less than 10 minutes, The burger was very warm and the fries were fresh from the fryer. With a busy lunch crowd, that kitchen was humming! The ambiance is very open and bright. The tables are arranged so the place can accommodate plenty of people. They also have a patio to take in an overflow. I go to P-Terrys to get the breakfast burger because it's a great price and always good. The gal that works the drive through needs to brush up on her customer service skills. She basically asks "what do you want" and "is that it" so off putting that I leave irritated and wishing I had not gone. I'm not really sure why everyone has been saying this is better than In n Out because it's not. I ordered a #2 meal which came with a cheeseburger, fries and a drink. For some reason it took 20 minutes from the time I ordered to the time I got my meal even though the restaurant was fairly empty. I was shocked to see the grabbing the containers the fries are in without gloves and I personally stocked the napkins because no one was filling them up despite me waiting for them. The patties are super thin and don't have any flavor. They fries did taste fresh but I actually think the winner in this combo meal was the fresh soda pop. Austin exports a lot of solid food items into Dallas and San Antonio. The best of their burger transplants so far is P. Terry's. Known for both regular and veggie burgers alike, they are a very Texas take on a west coast burger. The burgers have a lot of flavor going for them. The double cheese burger is savory and never a mess to handle. The cheese is just melted enough and the veggies are crisp. The fries are a great compliment. They're just salty and memorable enough without stealing the show. In a rare treat for a burger joint, the veggie burger actually does stand out. It's a great meat substitute that both vegetarians and likely even meat eaters will enjoy (if those carnivores give it a chance). The staff here is friendly and the line moves fast. This location is really only accessible from the 1604 frontage road so try not to miss the entrance. Parking is plentiful and the restrooms are very clean. read more

Solid fast food burger restaurant! I've been in Texas on Vacation for a few days and had noticed these P. Terry's signs all over. I'm not from around here so I was intrigued... never saw or heard of a P Terry's. The signs are pretty cool.... Reminds me of the "futuristic" cartoon "The Jetsons" from the 70's. Today is my last day in Texas, so on my way to the airport I decided to check the place out! Super friendly service, including hello's and good bye's from the staff. Place was really clean, including the bathrooms. Loved the fries, remind me of Five Guy's, only thinner (which I love) and even tastier. Fries would definitely bring me back. The burger was made fresh and had good flavor. Didn't try the Banana Bread, and now I'm kinda kicking myself! We thought to try @p_terrys on 1604 for dinner tonight. We wanted to check it out and have Dad try it out. My husband and I have had it in Austin years ago. Thankfully it rained a little and cooled off the outdoors. The 1604 location had a covered outdoor seating area. Dad and I had identical orders - cheeseburgers with grilled onions combo with fries and strawberry milkshakes. The grilled onions elevated the flavors! My husband had the cheeseburger with jalapeños with fries and rootbeer shake. The Angus Beef was good and thin patty was perfect for all of us, especially Dad with his dentures. The fries was mixed - some were crispy while some were soggy. I will say i like skinny fries better. Overall, still happy with the experience. It definitely doesn't break the bank. If you're like me and you have been wondering where customer service has gone in our world, I have an answer for you. It has all moved to P Terry's Burger stand on Loop 1604. We had seen some thing about this on a television show and have been curious and decided to stop in today to give it a go. The burgers were good! So we're the fries and the milkshakes were great! But I have to do a special shout out for all my vegan friends regarding the veggie burgers that they have here. It was great! The manager here explained that they can make the veggie patties in Austin and deliver them to the different stores. You can taste the difference! Very good experience. Not a top choice for burgers but my husband likes this place since he grew up eating it in Austin. Gave it another try for dinner the other night and while the prices seem like a great deal when you look at the burgers alone, you add a drink and fries and bam it's pricey, in my options anyway for what you're getting. Loved this location when it first opened and went there at least once a week. Then the quality started suffering. Stopped going there about a year ago after a bad experience. My wife told the worker the 7-up dispenser tasted like club soda and the worker argued with her. That night the outside of the buns were also drenched in grease and the burger patties were way over salted. Tried it again today because my wife said she had a good experience at another location. The burgers were again way over salted and the fries tasted awful and had a bad texture. I am permanently done with this location. I prefer In N Out anyway even though it's further away. read more

A great place to grab a quick burger that is fresh and has amazing flavor. Unlike most other chains, P Terry's actually seasons their burgers quite well so that there is flavor in the meat and not just toppings. I have only had one time out of around 30 that the burger had not been made fresh and you could tell was just warmed up without the cheese melted. I could tell that it looked like they had short staff or some callouts that day, so I didn't make a fuss about it. The prices are super cheap for the burger sizes compared to even sit-down burger places. The staff is always friendly and greets us the second we walk in or pull up to the drive-thru.
