The owner Chad answered the call and was very patient listening to my explanation of the problem. He clearly knew what was needed and we scheduled a day and time. The day before our scheduled appointment I asked Chad if he would be able to replace my garbage disposal, no problem. I took a picture of the existing disposal and sent it to Chad. Chad arrived on time and I appreciated his assessment and on what would be done. He installed the pressure regulator with copper piping and recommended if I would like to have a water outlet installed. Great location Great idea! Chad also replaced an old hose bibb valve that was stuck to the hose. The garbage disposal installation went well and his assistant showed me where the reset on button is located as well as what to do if the blades are jammed. I highly recommend Plumbing Kings Hawaii because they are reputable, honest and reliable. Chad has immense knowledge and expertise in the business beyond his years. He said i need to change the prv valve before any repairs could be done as the water pressure should be around 60psi. I have changed the prv in the past, about 4/5 years ago so i told him to go ahead and change it as im pressed for time havjng to work and prepare for the incoming typhoon. He didnt have a valve so needed to go to city mill to get one which they had in stock. The total repair came out to $4100, of which and i'll break it down cost wise. Costs gotten at a consumer pricing from Home Depot Now mind you this is the retail pricing for an normal consumer, not professional pricing (what you or i would pay if going into the store) Prv valve $89 5' length 3/4" copper pipe $50 Fittings $50 Ball valve shut off $ 19 Total of parts $208 $4100 minus the parts needed $208 $3892 labor 18 minutes to complete the repair, say 30 to make it easy $7784 in labor charge per hour I guess i should have purchased a solderless crimper and done it myself for a savings of $3900 Work was done professionally and quickly as promised and the area cleaned up before completion but the labor cost is whats bugging me- guess i got into the wrong profession

Ive called a few places, and this company has some pros and cons…read more First, Josiah was the plumber and seemed really nice, friendly and knew what he was doing. He changed my toilet and knew where the leak was emerging from which was great. The cons, they are a bit pricey--and I had gotten a few quotes from other plumbers but they did a 28$ fee to come see the issue and then gave a verbal estimate about the repair cost. They came the same day I called and was extremely responsive. The cost to change a toilet, remove my toilet. Fix the leak and assess the damage was 1375. Which is a pretty penny. Other competitors, ive got estimates of 500-700 for just toilet installation (not to fix the leak) and 175 an hour on top of additional fees with slower response time. So I guess it varies between response time, quality and a gamble. I did tell him that I had a budget and if he could work out the cost with me. So that was nice. Would I call them again? Maybe for the customer service.

Hawaii Plumbing & Contracting Regulations License Requirements: Under Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS Chapter 448E and HRS Chapter 444), any individual performing plumbing work must hold a valid Journey Worker Plumber (PJ) or Master Plumber (PM) license. He came by on his way home and made an assessment that the water from the main pipes to the house was leaking. Yikes...my water bill will be huge! He would replaced the old galvanized pipes with copper pipes that will require some digging underground from the main and linked with the house pipe. It would take a day and can begin tomorrow, August 21st...Wow! He and assistant Dayton, (I hope I spelled his name correctly) arrived at 7a and were finished after 2:30p. After cleaning up their tools and work areas, included putting my things back, which is a rarity for any business to do, you wouldn't even know they were here! Yay...no more running water issue! Outstanding job, guys! I would highly recommend Brenden and his plumbing services. Messaged Brenden and he responded immediately and said he could drop by first thing in the morning. He acquired all the needed materials and arrived right on time. I was impressed with how fast he worked and how clean he left the area. He was done before I knew it and now it looks like a brand new shower. I am a retired…read moresmall-business owner, and I simply want to share my experience so potential customers can make informed decisions and understand what they may be paying for. I have saved the emails, written estimate, text messages, and voicemails related to my experience, so I can support the statements in my Yelp review. Here is what happened from my perspective: I called A-1 and explained a straightforward plumbing project that I wanted completed. Based on that conversation, I understood that A-1 would come out and perform the described work at $150 per hour plus materials. Instead, someone came out to provide an estimate. I was charged $150 for the estimate, plus travel time, for a total of $235.60. No plumbing work was performed. The entire $235.60 charge was for the visit and estimate. To be fair, A-1 did later credit me the travel-time charge because that charge had not been disclosed to me beforehand. Because of the costly estimate they gave me, I did not go with them and paid $196.34 to get an estimate.
