Continued praise for Paadee for lovely service and great hours WITH some of the best Thai food on the west coast. The tempura asparagus salad (which uses ground pork as a garnish!? Oh and shrimp) is exquisite. The cocktails are great. I love their specials but always come around and the get the curry cod too. Additionally!-Do not sleep on the Guay Teow Kua Gai. I promise it is so crispy, chewy, noodely, eggy- good.

Cute resy for intimate dinner with family or date night! The service was great, we didn't have a resy but got sat down immediately on a Tuesday night. Our waitress checked on us regularly. We got the wings, papaya salad and pad kee Mao to share between 2 and that was perfect amount. I like the noodle texture of the pad kee Mao but it tasted more like pad see ew. Papaya salad was flavorful and the wings were seasoned well. Thai tea was perfect sweetness.

This is a super cute spot in SE. We were seated quickly and received good service. The scallion pancakes were unique, crispy on the outside, and pillowy on the inside. The duck laab was a great portion size but be warned it was extremely spicy!

Disclaimer: This may not have been their best day, so I'm rating this as 3/5. Food: Kamon Gui Chai (3/5) (Pan-Fried Chinese Chive Cakes) I expected something closer to Korean green onion pancakes (pajeon). Instead, these were more like lightly fried dumplings. Savory and a bit salty with a chewy texture. My wife really enjoyed them, but they weren't quite for me. Pineapple Juice - $4 (2/5) (would not get again) Good flavor, but mostly ice and not worth the price. Gai Grop Sam Yan (2/5) A Thai-style sweet and sour chicken dish, similar to a more sour version of General Tso's chicken. I added Chinese broccoli for $3 to bring in more vegetables, which helped balance the meal. The sauce was flavorful and the rice was soft and fluffy, but the chicken was tough and stringy. I definitely needed a toothpick after. Ambiance: Busy and lively, with mostly tables for two and four. It felt like a casual neighborhood spot rather than a quiet sit-down restaurant. The dining area is compact, and there was a lot of activity and noise from both the kitchen and other diners. Good place for a quick meal, not a long relaxed dinner. Service: Good overall. The staff stayed friendly even though it was busy. Orders came out in a reasonable time, and they were patient when we had questions about the menu. Efficient and helpful.

Flavor (4/5): We were craving crab fried rice and this was one of the only place that did it, and they do it well! The pad thai was a bit dry with the chicken. The pad see ew noodles were a hit, we ordered 2 to share family style. Instagram Worthy (4/5): Restaurant is cute but small! They have back room seating too. Service (3/5): Went to go put my name on a waitlist but the host was always going back and forth and didn't get to me until I stood there for 10 minutes just to put me on a waitlist. I wish they had a tablet for you to put yourself on the waitlist. Takeaways: Decent Thai spot, not sure if it's worth a wait. Parking near the restaurant is super hard to find.

While traveling in Portland a story of this restaurant popped up on my feed and I knew I had to try it. Best decision ever! It's an unassuming place with both indoor and outdoor seating, casual. Upon entry you are offered a menu to order. Seating is self seating and a bottle of water is provided to each table. I went during the lunch hour and ordered the Tamarind glazed wings set (papaya salad, boiled egg, sticky rice and broth). The best tasting meal through my entire start. Everything was delicious, even the boiled egg and I don't even like soft boiled eggs. I wanted to try their Kanom Gui Chai, but they were sold out. The staff here were friendly and quick. Two people working indoor and outdoor with the cooks keeping the food coming. I would definitely return to Portland just to eat here again.

The best thai food I've had in a long time. Believe the awards they have posted on the wall. Our group came here on a whim for a late dinner on our last night in Portland and I'm So glad we did. We ordered Jub Chai (pork belly and vegetables stew), black cod curry, duck laab, tom kha gai soup, and pad see ew. Everything was delicious. But if I had to pick one dish, their jub chai was to die for! Servers are super friendly and attentive if when they were super busy. We arrived at 9pm the place was still crowded. When I come back to Portland this will definitely one of my first stops.

We got lucky with no wait on a wet Sunday night, arriving around 7ish. Kanom Gui Chai - This was a new and different twist on the pan-fried Chinese chive cakes I'm used to. Texture-wise, they nailed the crunch on the exterior, but the dough itself lacked flavor--which explains the heavy reliance on sauce. Unfortunately for me, the sauce was too saucy, too sweet, and too sticky. I much prefer the traditional version that isn't drenched, with more filling and flavor built into the dough. If you love sauce soaking into a blander base, though, this might be right up your alley. Red crab fried rice and pork belly fried rice - Both were quite delish and solid choices. Tamarind fried chicken - Hands down the most edible and delicious item. A must-try. Flank steak salad - Unfortunately, the least edible dish. The dressing was inconsistent, leaving parts of the salad overly salty. Overall - the staff was attentive, and I can see why this spot is a neighborhood favorite. Just be warned: parking is tough!

Paadee is delicious. Nice space with a good vibe, excellent service, and really good menu/specials. Paadee is far superior to the average Thai spot we are all used to with identical pad Thai and curry etc. for that reason alone it's worth going to and the 5 star rating! They have some excellent items you won't normally see as well, so highly recommended to just try stuff, it's all good!

I love this place even if I was somewhat critical of the dishes I photographed from my last visit. My two favorite items are tempura asparagus with shrimp, a salad, and Gai Grop Sam Yan, adding green beans. I could have these two dishes together every day.

Nah man you gotta be joking me First off: service was fantastic. Friendly, fast, big fan of the staff. They're carrying the team. Secondly: the vibes inside are incredible. Nice lighting with bottles of water at the table. Quirky decorations and tasteful furniture from floor to ceiling. Love it, would bring a date here if I wasn't so terribly alone. Or at least I would if it weren't for the food. Because the food is a problem I had the Pad Kee Mao and the noodles were overcooked which is wild for dining table service. Onion pieces were cut like logs and the overall size of the dish was so small I felt like I needed a second meal. So I got one. Pork Belly Fried Rice was also a mess Bland, barely seasoned, dry meat, and again a weak portion size. Why are we skimping on rice noodles and rice? Each dish was $17 and I'm just not seeing the money on the plate. I guess we're paying off the table lamp. I know I sound mean but this is some of the worst Thai food I've ever had and I almost didn't notice because of how enchanting the staff was. But if you served this to me blindfolded I'd rank it 2 stars at best. If the staff wants I can send some recipes I found on Youtube that would push this to an easy 4 stars. Can show you how to cook it and everything I'd highly recommend Thai Peacock instead or for something less conventional either Eem or Khao Moo Dang

Stellar lunch deal. Visited with a friend for lunch and wanted one of everything on the menu but settled for the noodle lunch. I love that there was so much variety. The flavors were so good. The noodles were perfect. The pork belly was very crispy. The papaya salad was such a winner. The broth was good but not my fav. Service was excellent. You order at the front then pick a seat for lunch. The decor is very fun and it's clean inside.

Nice atmosphere and food! Will definitely come again and order the chive cakes and pad Thai! Both were really good. Also ordered the fried squash and shrimp which was delicious. Papaya salad, duck laab (surprisingly really spicy), and pork belly fried rice were average and would try something else instead. For drink, ordered the "somebody I Yuzu know" which was pretty good too!

Starter: Field Green Salad: Sooooo delicious, a perfect summer salad, the apple, pickled shallots, coconut, and tamarind made for a beautiful marriage of flavor. Sweet and a bit sour, bright and light. White curry: 1000000/10. Absolutely perfect. Brisket Fried rice: 8/10. Great smoky flavor, rice a bit too crunchy for my liking but the smokiness reminded me of Nigerian rice so I liked it a lot! Service: Taylor was our server and she was just the cutest and most delightful person. Really made us feel seen and heard and treated us like we were family and gave us great recs for things to do. Drink: Approved By Chef-Very good and refreshing. ALSO THE MUSIC WAS INCREDIBLE! Such a good vibe. The hype is worth it. It was the perfect dinner to a perfect day in a beautiful city!

5 star food with excellent service - very welcoming and knows how to upsell lol…read more Food Orderd: 1. Fried Chicken Roti Combo - holy fried chicken crispy, combo comes with 1x leg and 1x thigh cut into two pieces. Curry was delicious and balance, excellent when dipped with the crispy roti or fried chicken. Pickled veggies were a great pairing and sweet and sour added another dimension. 2. Pad Thai - glistening noodles served inside an egg omelet. Very solid pad thai - sweet, sour, salty. Don't forget to add the fresh shrimp, these were cooked perfectly and plump. I recommend the restaurant should take the shrimp tail shell off for us. 3. Thai Basil Lemonade - solid lemonade, NEED more basil flavor. Overall, I'd come here again to eat and try other items as well. I'll give it a 5 star for now but more 4.5.

I'll start by saying this place is definitely not big so come with the expectation that you might have to wait for a table. There's only about 8-10 tables in the place and it's definitely geared towards smaller groups. Regardless we ordered at the front and then were able to find a seat. Wound up ordering the combo to try and get a taste of everything. The portions were solid and everything was super tasty. The chicken is perfectly breaded and delicious. It's a bit of a messy meal so just come with that in mind. Have a bunch of different options that also looked tasty. Will have to come back and try again. Service was fine. They were kind and cleared the table. Water is self serve at front of the restaurant and they clearly do a fair amount of takeout. Cool local spot to definitely check out.
