The hubby and kids love the beef with broccoli, which instead of the standard kind of chewy meat that you see in a lot of restaurants this dish has deliciously tender steak. They're also a big fan of the Gai Stay, with the peanut sauce and the egg rolls. My favorite is the green curry. It's plentiful, full of flavor as well as the veggies, bamboo shoots and your protein of choice. One thing I'll mention about the curry is unlike the other dishes the mild can have a bit of a kick to it... which I like, so no problem for me. Surprised they were open on the hot day but I am glad they were! The space could be easy to miss on the corner so it was my first time coming here by chance while I was in the area. They have a decently sized space to accommodate both large/smaller groups. I enjoyed the decor they used in the space and looking at their menu it was pretty extensive with even more specials by the counter. Can you believe they have khao soi!? I don't see that too often on menus so I need to come back on another day. I was feeling basic so just tried their pad thai and papaya salad and both were tasty. I liked that they had spice levels 1-6 for their papaya salad. Went with a 2 this time as I wasn't sure how spicy it would be but it was mild so I'd recommend 3-4 if you want a bit of a kick. Had lunch here today and first time visiting, wowie! So good! I love a dining establishment that offers lunch specials, so rare these days. Me and my better half ordered off the lunch special menu and also split the yellow curry dish. I had the drunken noodles and my hubs had cashew stir fry. Everything was delicious and piping hot! Whoops, we dug in before a photo could be taken!! It was a chilly day and we popped in craving some soup! Two of us ended up sharing the pad thai and tom yum soup. It was perfect! The pad thai was classic and delicious. The soup was perfectly spicy (not for the weak but not too spicy for those that tolerate) both items were plenty to get us full. Quite hungry when I stopped by with my family for an early dinner @ around 5:30 pm. I was lucky to find a parking spot right outside the restaurant. The restaurant had a couple of other patrons when we arrived, and we were seated quite fast. Good vibe in the restaurant. They had TVs showing Bangkok street views and some background Thai music. However, it took quite a while, more than 10 min, to get someone to talk to us at the table as the only wait staff was tied up with a bunch of pick-up orders. More patrons flooded in after us and I suppose that overwhelmed the staff. Eventually, we had someone come to take our orders. The sauce that came with it could be more spicy. Yum ta lay (seafood) was good, assorted seafood was good, I like that is sour. I also tried kha nom jeen nam ya, which was good but too spicy for me. It might not be for everyone. Gai kua was good, it has the burn noodle flavor stir fried that most places don't have. They do have condiments like chili sauce that you can add to the noodle. Visiting Portland for a few days. Found this place a block away from my hotel. Went during lunch. A short walk, and it's located at the corner of NW Flanders/NW 11th. A nice cozy corner with outside/inside tables. Sat inside because of construction outside. Small crowd. Was seated right away. Female worker(owner?) was very friendly. Brought me a carafe of water. I ordered the Spring Rolls and Pad See Ew. The spring rolls came out fast... hot and crispy with a sweet Thai dipping sauce. Tasty. The Pad See Ew came out about 3 minutes later. I've never had this before, anywhere. It came out fresh and hot. You need to mix the raw bean sprouts and carrots into the hot noodles and broccoli. It had a nice flavor. The cooked broccoli still had a good crunch to it. I think the bean sprouts and carrots could have been quick flamed, but they were good also. I enjoyed this place.
