Wow, just WOW! We rescheduled after a scheduling snafu on his part and from there it was smooth sailing. I had a floor furnace that died Many years ago, the grate was still on the floor covering the plywood patch below. I finally just got tired of walking over the useless grate and had a handyman (Not a floor professional) lay flooring and it started to sink and the stain didn't match. After trying to ignore this eyesore for over a year or so, I finally said enough is enough. I got several estimates from Yelp and Pablo's was the best. He expanded the replacement area so it wouldn't sink again, we did a few rounds of color matching and he got it perfect! And aside from that replaced section of the floor looking and feeling AMAZING (it's soooo smooth and soft with no gaps - I just rub my feet over it all the time now, ha!), it's almost indistinguishable from the 16 year old stain color. All this isn't even to mention the very thoughtful and thorough PREP! He covered the path from the front door to the area and covered the nearby doorway and tented the repair area from floor to ceiling. There wasn't a single particle of dust that escaped. He came back the next day, after it dried, to do the last sand and coating. I can't say enough about how wonderful a job Pablo and his associate did -- just fantastic! Moving into a new condo in Oakland with hardwood floors that needed to be refinished, I went looking for a team to do the work. I opened a Yelp project and looked through the reviews of all the responding vendors. Pablo's Hardwood Floors had great reviews, so I had him come in for an estimate. His quote was great price (I was expecting 2x more) and his team's availability was within my timeframe. In addition, talking to him he didn't recommend that I replace my entire flooring but just refinish it. He estimated three days to complete the project, but it actually only took a day and a half. His team was able to refinish and stain both the floor and the stairs so they look closer in color as they are both hardwood but different types. Pablo returned my call right away and came out to do the estimate soon after. I just finished remodeling and was left with a concrete 3' x 5' sub-floor in my living room where the old brick fireplace hearth use to be. It is surrounded by red oak flooring and needs to be filled in with the same wood type. After getting 3 other bids, the other flooring contractors either did want to deal with removing some of the concrete or went about the repair in an incorrect way like glueing the plywood on, or omitting the plywood in the sub-floor. With Pablo, he knew to jackhammer the concrete, sand it down, put down plywood and nail in the wood planks in 3", 5" & 7" strips (existing old pattern). He and his helper showed up on time, are friendly, helpful and courteous. They did an excellent job matching to existing flooring. Results are beautiful. Finally, they were the best price! read more

Pablo and his team did a great job installing our 5/16 top nailed red oak flooring. We have an older home where the entire second floor had terribly worn and damaged carpet. His team took out all the carpet and cleaned the entire second floor prior to install and once it was all in and sealed, the floors looked amazing. It took ~5 days to pull out the carpets, clean all the subfloor and secure it all down, then install the underlayment fabric and the flooring and seal it. Our layout isn't terribly complex, but we have a couple small tight corners, and the fit of the wood looks great. They also ran the flooring continuos through our doorways and installed really nice transitions between the main flooring and our bathroom floor (which are wood and they refinished them to look close to the rest of the floors). We only ran into a few small issues we needed fixed, a couple gaps in the boards near our stairs and a spot where the sealing wasn't continuous. Pablo and his team came right away to fix it. We had great communication with them and are very happy with the floor. TL;DR: Good Price, Great Work. read more

I needed a hardwood floor repair after moving an hvac floor vent. My floor has 75 year+ original oak flooring and the repair needed was in a very visible open area so it was going to be difficult to create a seamless transition. The first attempt turned out ok, but was not as seamless as I had hoped. After discussing with them again, they came back immediately and re-did the repair using a different approach and custom mixed stain and it turned out beautifully and perfectly blended with the old flooring. They did not charge me anything additional for the second time around even though it was more labor and materials than the original estimate. I would definitely recommend Pablo's Flooring. read more

Even though Pablo was the lowest bid (I was on a tight budget), he provided a much more thorough approach to my new vinyl flooring. While others were going to just go over the old linoleum in the kitchen, he took it out for a level transition into the dining room. While others were going to use a spacer to fill in the gap of the trim, he replaced the trim. He picked up the supplies from Home Depot, moved furniture & appliances.
