I discovered this place when i bought a used car with an extended warranty, I had trouble with the air conditioner and needed a place with in walking distance from my home that accepted the warranty. I had driven past this place for 16 years since moving into the neighborhood. they did the right thing by me and i was so satisfied with the people and the service i received i brought my other car to them for inspection and service again i was very satisfied and have no problem recommending them to anyone. I used to take my cars to the quick oil change place with a "free" car wash included but i felt that i was given exceptional service and I would trust these people to advice me in the future as to what my cars need. they do a great job. read more

So I drop my car off for new tires and an inspection. Find out my exhaust is shot and need a new one. Won't pass inspection, no problem. From the person who answered the phone to when I was handed the keys - nothing put unprofessionalism. Like I'm bothering them. I pick up my car yesterday and after my paying my $1,000+ bill, I didn't even realize that they NEVER PUT MY INSPECTION STICKER ON. Went back today and asked (they get annoyed if you ask questions) and they did say sorry and literally slapped it on my windshield sideways!! There is oil grease all over my passenger side seat. What a mess. Will never go back! If you're a woman, don't go there alone because they just look at you as if your stupid and try not to laugh when you ask a question! read more

I have been going to Pace Tire for years on both a business level and a personal level for all my tire needs. This last experience with Pace was like a scene out of the Twilight Zone. I drove in with a bubble on my front tire over 3 weeks ago. A young man named Jesse looked at it, took all the info and said he would get back to me with a price. I didn't hear back from him so I called and his boss said they would look into it and get back to me. Again, I never heard back from them so I called again. I was told they needed to see the tire again. I wasn't able to leave work so I text them the pictures of the bubble, mileage and tire info. I finally got a price and told them to proceed. After a week of texting, without a response, I received a text to bring the car in. I asked my friend to take it in for me so I didn't have to take a day off and my plans were to drive over and pay once the work was done. To my surprise, I received a phone call that they didn't have the tire and the text was for me to go and pay so they could order the tire!!! I told my friend to leave and she heard them talking about us so she returned and they had words. What a lousy way of doing business and to top it all off, we were the "bad guys" for being committed customers and waiting. They didn't "recognize us " because the car was new (2017). What difference does it make?!?! Customer service is customer service, new or old customer!! read more

Though this place is a bit pricey it is worth the money. The staff is helpful. I always do my wheel alignments here because of the professionalism and I don't trust many people with my Beemer. I havn't really done anything except wheel alignments but based on my experience it is a good place. read more

I have been a customer of Pace tires on and off for years. I have always been on a quest for a good mechanic anywhere in Queens. Every time I think I have found one, I end up getting ripped off on the second or third visit. Pace never gave me a problem over the years, so I should just have stuck with them. The closest they came to a problem was last Friday afternoon when I left my car in for routine oil change. I also asked to check a very slight hesitation with the engine. They changed the oil and plugs and also cleaned the throttle body. When I got my car back, it was running like crap with check engine light on. At first they tried to tell me that there may be additional services required on the car. It was late Friday, so, they could not fully check out the car until following Monday. On Monday, they took in the car without a fuss. They found out that the problem was due to a mistake made by their mechanic. They fixed it and returned the car in perfect running condition. Apologies and no Charge. . Mechanics make mistakes. A true test of a company is in how they respond to a complaint and rectify the situation. On this test they get 100%.. They are honest and reliable. I will go there, and only there in the future. read more

Had an oil change and they botched the job so bad that I barely got home. Went to another mechanic and they checked my engine. The oil cap was left off and oil was all over the place. They did something to the oil plug and pan and it cost me &300.00. Pace was good for it but look what they put me through for a routine oil change. I've heard good things about Pace but their shoddy work is alarming for just an oil change. read more

Came in with a flat tire. Jimmy was extremely helpful. Checked the air pressure on all four and recommended we only replace 1. He found a replacement tire to be delivered the next day before noon. Courteous and straightforward. I was given a fair price for the tire and they were quick to replace. I would definitely recommend! Ask for Jimmy! read more

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. What a circus; home of the buy 6 get 4 tires deal (as long as you show up at least 4 times). In an effort to support a local business I drove past Pep Boys after finding this place online. Left my truck there early afternoon and they said it would take a few hours. They never called to say it was finished (had to pick up the next day +one town car ride) and they managed to only put four out of five lug nuts on the rim I would later have trouble with. Less than a hundred miles later a brand new tire severed at the inner most part (right next to the rim) on the same rim that was hastily installed. The tire popped on a manhole cover that I hit starting out in first gear. I've probably driven over this every other day on my commute for the last year or more with my third hand crusty tires. They had no interest in replacing it, so I bit it and bought a matching tire. A second town car trip over and I wait some more only to give up and let them replace the tire at their leisure. Eventually, I drove back and had the new tire/rim installed. They charged my card twice because their machine was unplugged the first swipe. When I noticed this a few days later I called and they had me call back on Monday when the bookkeeper was there. Called back and the next clown said he could deal with it and tried to refund the card after I told him I didn't want to drive out just to swipe my card. Still haven't seen the credit, so now I get to drive out again to take care of it. read more

Even though it was somewhat busy with a few people there, they were able to get me in and out quickly, and the cost was very reasonable. Have had a few repairs done here and they are always honest and really nice to work with. The most recent experience (today) was due to having them install a new starter last week which turned out to be defective (I totally realize sh*t happens and they can't control the parts they get) and left me stranded over the weekend. I had the car towed to them on Saturday (they stayed late for me to get it to them) then re-fixed the car with another new starter at no charge whatsoever. Always nice guys there and always have great service. I'll continue to have my car serviced there as long as I own it. read more

TERRIBLE!!!! After being a customer for over 25yrs we will NEVER go back to Pace nor will the rest of our family. This place has changed. Now its all about the $$$ so SCRUTINIZE YOUR BILL!!! My story: I have an extended warranty. They said no problem, come in, they'd diagnose repair then call call extended warranty to see if it was covered. I faxed them a copy of my warranty on third day (their request) and no one got back to me to tell me if they got the fax and if they made the call. FOUR days later I get a call from Pace (3pm) telling me repair was done and to pick up car. I asked,"did you call my extended warranty bc repair is definitely covered, did you read the fax I sent you yesterday? They said no, fax was fuzzy, couldnt read it (doubt it). Matt calls me and says repair is NOT covered. I tell him I already called and it is covered. In fact, warranty told me as well as Pace that repair is also covered under Chevy's 5yr powertrain warranty till November. So, TWO parties were willing to pay for repair. Pace already repaired car and had no intention of telling me my repair was covered by separate TWO parties then slapped me with a $600+ bill!!! Disgusting. They didnt want to deal w calling extended warranty and were charging me for the job! I called Matt at 430pm and told him I had no intention of paying for a repair that was covered and to minus it from the bill. He admitted he had screwed up and said he would not charge me for this repair and would go after Chevy for the job. My bill should should have been reduced by $325, cost of covered repair ($600-$325= $275 or close too $300). When I got there at 5pm Matt was conveniently gone but Emil? "rearranged my bill". It was now $616!!! They were even charging me TWO diagnostic fees in the "new"bill and a host of "interesting" charges to pad the bill. Not ethical, not honest. I was livid. Emil finally reduced bill to $509 but had it not been for my kids in car, I would have stayed there all night arguing with him to minus the whole job that was covered by warranty. PACE, NEXT TIME WHY DONT YOU TELL PEOPLE UP FRONT THAT YOU DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTIES IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE BOTHERED MAKING THE CALLS?? ALSO, DONT REPAIR THE CAR UNTIL YOU CK w EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY FIRST, NOT FOUR DAYS LATER!!!! Lastly, TELL THE CUSTOMER THEIR JOB IS COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER and SAVE THE CUSTOMER SOME $$$ INSTEAD OF MAKING THE CUSTOMER PAY FOR A COVERED REPAIR .LASTlY, DONT PAD THE BILL W FICTITIOUS CHARGES , GREEDY, GREEDY and unethical. You lost our trust after almost 30yrs. You lost our business forever bc there will be no next time. read more
