I was hoping for a Great experience like when I was a kid but it was not to be. The prices have gone through the roof at this place! The food was cold and about 12 tater tots for 3$ not my kind of deal. Both the ice cream rainbows were the wrong flavor. Just not a good experience. Sad to see such a decline from youth. read more

Overpriced. It will take FOREVER to receive your order no matter what time of day you chose to eat. Unfriendly staff (Mostly 17-20s) If you want to be nickle & dimed for things like fry sauce this place is perfect. Fries are just terrible, hard, overfried & tastless. Honestly the only thing worth coming here to get is their Rainbow, probably because it isn't difficult to screw up combining slush & ice cream. read more

OK I love the onion rings at this place! The reason I am giving the three stars is because you have to pay for extra fry sauce. It is ridiculous to me that you have to pay if you want more than one fry sauce. Just add a few cents more to your onion rings and let people have as much as they want. If I was only giving stars for tacos and cherry cokes and rainbows I would say a BIG FIVE. Seriously, order the tacos. But this is a review in the whole on in the whole I can only say three (and a half) because the rest of the food is so hit and miss in terms of being good and the service is SOOOOO SSSSSLLLOOOOOOOWWWWWW. We come in after a fun day activity keep in mind it is 8:30. And when we walk in this lady glares at us and rolls her eyes at us. I'm like ok and I smile back. A lesson in reading other reviews and looking for common themes... 20+ years ago, either Pace's did a lot better or the lack of other choices hid their issues. Read the other reviews and you'll see the same experience I had: - crazy long wait times (30+ mins) at 6:30pm with only a handful of other customers - sub-par fast food both in quality and quantity - nickel and dime you for things like fry sauce and refills - they brought the drinks out with the food so we basically sat and stared at each other for a half hour - it's staffed by friendly high school kids but that's the only redeeming feature I've never been to the other location people reference. Sadly, with my experience here, I won't even give them a chance. read more

Had a craving for a Rainbow (vanilla soft serve and flavored slush) last night so a friend and I decided to visit Pace's. As always, I will give their fries and Rainbows five stars. The unfortunate thing about this place is that it is staffed with a bunch of teenagers that really couldn't care less about customer service. We showed up about thirty minutes before close and they had already blocked off the back portion of the store using their high chairs forcing all of their patrons to sit clumped together. Then they were spraying cleaner and sweeping no more than three feet away from where I was cleaning. The three teenagers there were loudly complaining about everything under the sun. One star for the staff at Pace's. No bueno. I would simply suggest get the food to go so that you can avoid the inexperienced staff. read more

Terrible food, even worse service. I visted Pace's Dairy Ann on Wednesday November 4th at 11:45, because the Paces in Layton has awesome service and even better food. I was served by Natalie, who was the rudest person ever. Our order took over 30 minutes. When our food was finally ready Natalie literally threw my order across the counter so some of my fries fell out on the floor. I will never eat at this restaurant again. read more

This is the ultimate nostalgic burger joint. Going to get a burger, fries and a rainbow feels the same as when I was a kid. You get what you expect at a place like Paces. The burgers, fries and onion rings are old school, the shakes and rainbows are great. Service is slow at times because they tend to employ high school age kids. Frankly I think this is a good thing for the community because they give first jobs to a lot if kids. It just hurts the speed when they are training new kids. I would recommend getting a bag of Paces famous Astro Bars (Popsicles) to go. Peach and lime are my favorite and my wife and kids love the root beer and tigers blood flavors. Although Paces is not your fast paced high end joint you know what you are getting every time. Consistent quality and the perfect "throwback" experience. It's worth the drive to Bountiful to check it out if you've never been. read more

I was surprised that this place only had a three star average rating. Pace's has been a part of my life growing up and always had us coming back. I don't know what they've done for the past decade but it seems that it's sliding into history. The cheeseburger patty seemed like something in a McDonalds cheeseburger - flat, small, and not fresh. The Oreo shake was alright, but they've downsized. Ordering was slow and confusing - the staff kept getting confused on the orders. Payment was slow (one credit card machine for the three registers). I think the concept has been to keep it the classic old burger joint but it doesn't taste and feel classic. Rather it feels and tastes run down and cheap. I hate to see this place dwindle. read more

This place has been a fixture at this location since long before there was an Interstate 15. What makes it notable is its long history. The food is standard diner fare that has not changed markedly with time. Burgers, dogs, corn dogs, fish & chips, chickenwich, fries, tots, you name it. The late evenings see big-time dessert traffic, but the place is basically a locally produced DQ without the DQ branding. EXTREMELY OVERPRICED for the quality of food and service. We always go to our favorite Paces in Layton. Apparently they aren't the same. We order 2 chicken tender kids meals and a slush. Total came out to $20. It was then I was made aware that they don't offer kids meals. When the food came out we asked for sauce which was an extra charge on top of the initial $20. Worst yet it wasn't homemade sauce like the Layton location. Great food and a great price IF you don't go to this location. read more

After reading a review of Pace's Dairy Ann in the Salt Lake Tribune, I tried it out. I would say the burger was okay but there was nothing special about it. The fries were also just okay. The onion rings were good--they had a thick coating of batter and were made with actual slices of onion, which I liked. The Oreo milkshake was the best part of my meal. It was pretty tasty, but I'm pretty sure it had been made ahead of time and stuck in the freezer because it was frozen solid. That was okay, though, because by the time I had finished my burger and fries it had thawed enough that I could eat it. The service was okay. I overheard a customer in front of us ask one of the employees to wipe down the tables because they were all dirty and there was nowhere for anybody to sit. I think that is something that should be done without a customer having to ask for it. I would go back for a milkshake or to try some of their other frozen treats, like a Rainbow, but I probably wouldn't order any food. read more

I grew up going here and I went back there after not being in the area for over 20 years. Order was wrong and then they told us we ordered something else! The hamburger patty was smaller than McDonald's dollar burger! And a larger coke there is the regular size, at most other chain restaurants. A childhood memory DIED! Burgers are average at best. Service was interesting. Prices were ok. Service is worthy of the following report. While waiting for my burger at the counter I watched the help handle the cups used to make shakes for the other customers. 1st problem was his bare hands inside the cups as he placed them near the shake machine. 2nd no no was the hand rinse in the water used to clean the shake machine's stem/mixer. Makes me wonder what may have happened to the burgers that we ordered. Ketchup is free, fry sauce is 30 cents? Fry sauce is 50% ketchup and 50% mayo. Do they charge for the labor involved in the mixing of these ingredients? I will not return. read more

Probably some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The girl who helped us was so extremely rude. Hire some employees who actually have respect for other people. Pace's has nothing in place, no social distancing, nothing has changed. Do not go there if you are high risk for Covid. People crowd in the front area ordering and waiting for food less than a foot apart. There are no marks which would be a simple solution on the sidewalk. It is business as usual. I asked them about it and they just shook their heads. The owners are never there and have kids running it. Do not go there if you are high risk or do not want to be exposed to Covid. I would not be surprised if this place is not contributing by their choice to not follow guidelines to an increase in numbers in Utah . Stay away their food isn't worth the exposure. I used to love this place. But since the ungreatful son of the origional owners has taken over, the quality has gone down a steep hill. He has raised prices, made serving sizes MUCH smaller and as said before, the quality is not even comparable to what it used to be. Their coke with extra syrup is the best, and I'll still order astro bars and rainbows (even though they are smaller now). Their onion rings are still handmade, but much greasier than they used to be. For food, I think I'll make the drive to the one in Layton (which is owned by other family members) for the quality and better portion sizes. read more

I've been coming to this place since 1975. As long as I can remember. I love the food. It is a tradition to come to this place when I am down north. But there costumer service is not good. They are slow and if they mess up. They will not compensate for anything. They need to get with the times. They are the only place that still charges for drink refills. This isn't 1957 anymore. Bump the rating up for Pace's Dairy Ann. I had a great single cheese, fries and onion ring lunch today. Bigger doesn't mean bigger when it comes to a good burger and combination of flavor inside and awesome bun outside made a fine meal, I rate burger in top 20%. The fries are top 5% of what you'll find - they're what people mean when they ask for crispy. Rings were fresh and good. The five people working the place on a Tuesday at lunch were friendly and attentive and music mix from 1975 was great - this place is a gem. read more

Holy smokes have these people gone downhill. We live in Bountiful and have taken our family there once a week for years. No more will we do that. In our opinion, their food has become lousy, their prices are too high and their employees are slow. In addition, if you send a comment to Todd Pace telling him of your experience, he will blame it on you and say that you are being "shortsighted" and make it appear as if it is all your fault. Oh, he will tell you he will send you a free coupon too, but who wants that; not I? There are plenty of places in Davis County that deserve your money. This just isn't one of them.
