So let me start this off by saying that I normally don't write yelp reviews and have never really took it upon myself to even care about a yelp review. That said, I feel it is important to share my experience with people who consider coming to this place so that I may prevent somebody from experiencing the same thing. One year ago I took my car to Rudy and his shop because I wanted to support a local Mexican mechanic from my community. After bringing my car in to get worked on (my radio and AC were out), Rudy told me that there was $1100 of work to be done on my car. After having to take it back a second time for him to finish the work the problem seemed to not persist. However, three months later, just after his service warranty expires, the problem continued on and off. Finally after one year, my entire AC and radio once again became unfunctional. I went back to Rudy and explained the situation and he told me he was really busy and to bring it back the following week. Rudy told me that it was past warranty and that he was going to charge me for a diagnostic and for the parts and labor to fix the same problem I brought it into him one year before. After he asked me if I was going to leave it there for the diagnostic, I said that I feel it's unfair that I have to pay for a diagnostic when he clearly did not diagnose the problem correctly from the outset. After I said that he became visibly hostile with me and told me that he does not do business like that. I asked him to step in my shoes for a second and understand how I paid for a repair that was never made...and at the very least asked if he could comp the diagnostic. He refused and told me he would not work with me anymore and to leave his shop. I honestly am disturbed by this because I trusted him and I feel like his work was shotty. Then he tried to charge me to check his own previous work as if I did something to the car since he last worked on it. I ignored warning signs that he could not diagnose the problem correctly and brought it to him 3 times total. He told me he does not keep receipts for more than one year (which is a terrible and a shady business practice), and was surprised when I produced the receipts that he charged me since I always keep my receipts for taxes. Maybe it's just my car, but regardless his customer service was terrible. I honestly can never recommend this mechanic to anybody, and should've just taken it somewhere else from the very beginning. There are honestly lots of other better mechanics in that area that I normally go to. I will be taking steps to report him to the Better Business Bureau. read more

I have taken three different cars to Rudy Diaz at Pacific Auto Electric. He and his staff have performed ideally in each case. He did wonderful work with electrical/electronic repairs on both a Scion and a 1994 Camero. Another repair shop had caused a fire under the dash with the wires of the Scion, causing problems with the windows, moonroof, door locks and more. Rudy replaced all the needed wires and restored the electrical system to original performance standards . He also replaced the engine in the Scion. In the Camero the computer had to be replaced along with other new technical devices. He also did bearings work on the crankshaft and the back wheels of the Camero. He also took care of my 2003 Chrysler 300 Special. Rudy is capable of diagnosing problems across the full spectrum of auto repair needs. As with any highly experienced professional Rudy likes to be given time to assess the problem and give a clear picture of what needs to be repaired Having said that, he is a good listener. He will hear your concerns and note them so as not to overlook any thoughts that you may have about the vehicle. Thank you Rudy and Staff for helping to make my life a little easier. My Name is Reginald Tolan in 1989 My Dad had a Cadillac 1977 4dr .. Having serious Electrical Problems. Had taken it to 3 Shops they want to overhaul the Whole Car for $4,000 Dollars cash. He said no so we went Home it started raining on us and the car cut off as we parked at Home. He made some Coffee got the Yellow Pages... PAE talked to a guy Name Rudy He said come down. He sent a Tow truck got the car in his shop. called my Dad later that day and said you need a Wire Harness and new Alternator wires .. My Dad said OK how much $400 total. Hour later come pic it up... Rudy it has been 20 yrs my Daddy has been Dead for 12 of them we will always be Family. Our whole Family 7 of us take our Cars to PAE.. My Business Cargo Van runs good .. Thank You... My mother and I have been customers of Pacific Auto Electric since I can remember. We've had two cars going in there. The first one was a '89 Toyota Tercel; this car lasted us for over 15 years. We now have a 2002 Dodge Neon that we take to Rudy whenever we have issues. The car runs adequately considering that it is 12 years old (released in 2001 I believe), and quite frankly it should be replaced, but with Rudy's help, we've rebuilt the transmission which will keep the car running until we can find a new one. Anyone going to this place should expect an honest business man that goes out of his way to help the customer. It's not always in his best interest to do so in terms of finances, but his quality of service comes at a very reasonable price. My windshield was cracked and I had a guy come out to change it. He was Very polite, Very fast, and Very clean!! I then had to go out of town a couple of days later, and received a deep chip from another rock and had to call them back when I got back into town. A woman came out this time and again I found her to be polite, knowledgeable, fast and she cleaned all my windows while waiting for the repair machine to work. I want to give some more business to this place as this place was cheap and did a very good job at a very less amount of time. The installer was polite, they had great great customer service. My windshield was cracked i called a few places for quote, and then i called this place and gave me the lowest price i dont know if they guy name was adam or belal, he was good. I Called Oakland Windshield Shop as they advertise themselves as offering the lowest rates. Had already gotten a few quotes earlier so I was hoping to prove them wrong. Got a call a few minutes later and their quote was actually lower. Asked if they could do mobile service and they said yes. Was expecting them to charge me for it but apparently that's free. Was able to get the windshield on our car replaced for next to nothing and conveniently too? These guys are awesome. read more

Had to use their warranty as the newly installed windshield chipped within a couple of weeks. They came over the next day and decided that a repair job was not sufficient and replaced the windshield. No problems with the latest one. I absolutely love their service. The representative actually came over to my workplace and took the time to explain what he was doing and why. I sure wish I could remember the person's name that worked on my car. But he was very courteous and professional. My 2000 Saturn's windshield was hit by a stray golf ball (well we do live in Oakland , it's just another hazard for drivers), anyways I was so Impressed with the good service that I have passed my experience onto others over the last few months, keep up the good work. read more
