Brought my car in for a nail in the tire. Was told the tires (I purchased 4 new as they were 4/32" or close) would be ready that afternoon. The 2 rears unaffected by the road hazard were delivered, but the two fronts were not. Was then told it would be ready today, and then another call saying they are having shipment issues with the warehouse and have no idea when my tires will arrive. Supplier issues in my experience originate due to nonpayment, what's up with the corporate office? I wound up having to order my own front tires to be mounted by the store..not a great first impression. read more

I am writing this because I want the facts on record before this gets spun into something it wasn't. I came in after speaking with Ron, who said he could validate and honor the offer we discussed. Once I arrived, I was told that offer only applied to certain wheels and mine were excluded. At that point I was already there and exhausted from the back and forth. Ron then showed me pricing and told me he could do it for about $1400 based on what he believed my specs were at the time. I met him mid week last week without the car, so the quote was based on his assumption. After I reviewed and came back with the correct tire based on the picture and specs, the price changed from $1400 to $1700. I eventually agreed, and the final total ended up being over $2100 out the door, which was not what I wanted, especially right before Christmas. The ordering and scheduling was also a mess. I confirmed Thursday, showed up Friday, and later found out it was not happening. I dropped the car off, walked back, then had to return Monday and walk in the storm. After all of that, I was still told the tires would be in later. The communication and organization were exhausting. During this process I asked them to check the TPMS. I left with the low tire pressure warning still on. I came back, a tech reset it, and I was told to drive 20 miles. The warning never cleared, and now I am left with TPMS issues I still need to deal with elsewhere. The worst part is the condition of my wheels. Several rim edges are now scratched and gouged. These wheels were ceramic coated and were not like this before. The damage is consistent with what can happen during tire mounting. On top of that, my interior is cream and no protective plastic was used. I noticed stains afterward, which shows a lack of basic care. Jennifer did reach out and I thought that might be a path forward, but the overall experience was still bait and switch pricing, disorganized service, unresolved TPMS, scratched rims, and a dirty interior. I will not be returning. If you care about your rims or your interior, I would not recommend this place. read more

Alameda Tire Pros has good prices and excellent customer service. Went in just to inquire about prices and was planning on shopping around. However, after our visit with Mike we decided to go with Tire Pros because they matched the price I was quoted at Costco. Mike did his due diligence and check the system to see if there were any additional discounts that they could offer us. After researching and looking at other places tire pros was able to come in even a little cheaper than Costco so we decided to go with them because of the excellent due diligence that Mike did by finding us the best price for our tires. I've been going to this tire shop for over 20 years so when it was in its original location on Park Street. I drive a lot so I always ensure my tires.. I made an appointment today, knowing that I needed new tires, but found out they no longer cover any of the cost of a new tire based on your old tire. I was told that there was new management and so there had been some policy changes. So I've been a loyal customer and what reason would I not shop around what are they offering me to stay? I went to Costco and saved over $200 on four tires and the quality the tire is much higher. They also offer services on my tire regularly for five years. Good bye discount tire pros. read more

Saw a Groupon for Tire Pros and decided to come here for a four wheel alignment. It was easy making an online appointment. Arriving at 9:15 for my 9:30 appointment, Barak greeted me and checked me in for my service. He asked if I was going to wait there, but I said I would walk to Park St and would be back. As I was leaving the premises at 9:22am, my car was being driven into the shop for service. At 9:44, I received a call and an email that the service was completed and my car was ready for pickup. Arrived back at 10:00 and discussed the service with Barak. He processed my Groupon and I paid the difference and I was on my way. It was a great service experience. Needed new tires. I had an idea of what brands I wanted. When I first called, Ron was wonderful and also gave me recommendations. I did more research and called him back and he proceeded to see if his price was better than others out there. What???? And their prices were better. Made an appointment and went in. Had to wait a bit to check in but there is a waiting area. I didn't have the keys for my tire locks so he gave me options. All in all, Ron made the whole process so easy. Unfortunately I did not have a positive experience going to Big Discount Tire Pros. I came in for an oil change and for my headlight bulbs to be replaced, dropping my car off around 9am and being told I would get a call when it's ready for pickup. I didn't get a call so at 3pm I called the shop since the shop closes at 4, and was told I should just be sure to get there before it closes. I went around 3:55 to check in, but my car wasn't ready until 4:30. I don't mind the delay but I would have preferred being told to just come at 4:30. When getting my car, the staff told me the battery was corroding and that they had trouble getting my car started. My battery was definitely at the end of its life, but I hadn't had trouble with it getting started yet so I thought I would have a little more time to get it replaced. So I brought my car home, and then an hour later when I went to start my car, I couldn't get it started. The next day I had to jumpstart my car and buy a new battery, and my main frustration here is that this problem wasn't fixed when it was at the shop and the severity of the battery being near the end of its life wasn't emphasized to me so I could try to fix it right away. Instead I had to take extra time to discover the problem and then fix it myself the next day (and this is after already leaving my car at the shop for 7.5 hours). The service and staff were very friendly, but the inefficiency and the fact that I had to spend additional time myself to fix a pretty fixable issue made it feel like my money and time wasn't worth spending here. read more

Hopefully someone finds this post useful, lately their service quality became really bad, Unfortunately. I have been their custom from the times when they were on park street, but the experience is becoming worse for the last 2-3 years. If you do oil change there, make sure they did not overfilled/underfilled it, by just checking the oil stick in trunk. If you do alignment, make sure you go back in a few weeks to check again If you are buying tires, make sure you checked price for the same tires around, you will easily save 2-3 hundred dollars If you had a warranty on tires, always check the manufacturer information, most of the time they lie or don't know how the warranty actually works. Again I feel really sad that now I need to find a different place for my cars as I used to be their customer for almost 10 years now. read more

I had been a customer for almost 10 years until this experience happened. This used to be a great place and it was common to work directly with the GM who loved customers. Now that is no longer the case and a few of the newer faces who work there don't seem to care. Came in on a Friday after one gentleman talked to me over the phone and asked that I swing by. I get there and a lady took it upon herself to help me. I guess she was new because she enlisted the help of a different gentleman who did not know what he was doing but pretended to. I had asked him basic questions about how to tell the difference between a wide tire and regular tire and he couldn't answer the question. I also asked him about the speed and load rating of a tire and he made up some answer that contradicted what was on their website. Then that led to him having two tires available to having none at all and he said I would need to come back the next day. I asked if I would be able to drop off the car and pick up before close and he said no problem. After I confirmed I would return in the morning, they tried to get me to sign a work order and I said I would sign when I came back and they said no problem. They didn't tell me it would be an issue to not sign nor was there any confusion about me returning in the morning. When I came back the next morning, suddenly the gentleman and the lady I worked with the day before didn't want to be bothered with me and pawned me back off to the first gentleman I had spoken with on the phone initially. I thought this was strange but I went along with it. I explained what happened and once we went thru everything, I hand over the key before asking if he could confirm the car would be ready that afternoon. He said it "should" be but I wasn't having it. I asked if he could tell me definitively because the other guy had already told me it would be done that day which is why I came back. I then asked if they had even ordered the tires. The gentleman said he would check. Long story long, he comes back and tells me the tires were not ordered, they wouldn't be there until 4 days later, and that the gentleman that told me to come back the next day told him that I had changed my mind. I told the guy that that was a boldface lie and of course at this point, the gentleman and lady who did all this was nowhere in sight. I kept my composure but was clearly upset. I let the gentleman know that what happened was absolutely not cool and that I do not appreciate having my time wasted. I asked for my key back and left. I will not be returning to this business and it is unfortunate as this is where I have bought tires for not just one but several of my vehicles. I guess my money isn't worth much these days so I'll be going elsewhere. read more

What could improve? A whole lot. I have someone that went to this place for about a year. The alignment and whatever package was brought. They tried to fix the brake problem only to make it worse with cheap rotors. They didn't even fill the brake fluid, coolant, or transmission fluid. Worst of all, they put a black hard piece of something like felt material into the engine air compartment. We know it was them because only I and this company were the ones to go in there. We had a trip to LA and it started overheating at the grapevine mountain. Ended up finding the problem. Wouldn't recommend anybody to this place. Won't be surprised if they don't give a refund for ripping us off. Plenty of parking though. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but this time I felt strongly compelled to. I walked into the shop in Alameda for a four-wheel alignment. The service adviser, Conner Coll, helped me get my car's wheel alignment done. He was so kind and very friendly. In my experience, he is the best service adviser I've ever met. Before visiting this shop, I checked the reviews. Many people said they are very quick with wheel alignment; however, this Thanksgiving holiday week seemed a bit slow. While I was waiting, Conner came to me three times and kindly updated me on the progress. He also gave me a brief explanation of the alignment results. I found that there had been a significant misalignment. After I got my car back and drove home, I immediately noticed that it was running very smoothly with less noise. Oh my gosh!! In addition, they accepted my Groupon without any issues. There were no hidden fees or additional charges. I strongly recommend this shop. I went in on 2/20/26 to get my flat tire replaced since it had purchased insurance 2yrs ago. The employee stated to me (I am going to refer him as B) I know his name but don't want to disclose it. B says, that all my 3 tires needs to be replaced. Mind you I was there by myself so he thought because I'm a women that I am going to be dingy and say, "Ok". So I repeated myself and said to B, "I need 3 new tires"? and of course my 4th tire needed repair due to a nail. B says yes. I replied, "How could that be when I placed a new tire on the right side last week and the tire place said my other tires were fine. But I come here and I need 3 tires??? B paused and said, let's go outside to see your car again. Then he says, "since your new tire is not the same brand as the other tire I cannot install the 4th tire because due to a suggestion from Mercedes and our policy is that all tires needs to be the same brand. Okay so now my blood pressure went up and I do not even have high blood pressure. I'm looking at him and saying to myself, "I am way older then you, I've had cars my whole life, what type of crock is this!. Now after already waiting for almost 2hrs going back and forth. I had to call my husband and he is telling me what the HELL am I talking about? So Big Discount Tire Pros in Alameda refuse to put my 4th tire on my SUV because it is not the same brand as the front tire. So instead, B says that he will have the new tire loaded on the back of my SUV and that I can take it some where else to have it installed. So enough of that. As I am waiting in the lobby, its been more then an hour and one of the front female employee asked me if I need help. I told her I was waiting for B that they were going to load the tire in my car. She says, OMG that was done over an hour ago. She kept apologizing and shaking her head. She also said she was going to tell the manager Randy. Then I said where is B? She says he left awhile ago. So to me, he did this on purpose. It's been almost 4hrs total at this place. This place is nothing but a sham. They make up stuff to sell you tires and insurance on the tire. These employees are trained to say the same thing and they probably get commission for each new tire they sell. I have never never never heard of a tire place that won't install a tire because its a different brand. I drive a Mercedes 4-matic... B said it was "suggested" by Mercedes. Suggested, suggested, it's not mandatory I said. So I told my friends who also goes there about my experience and "they stated, yeah they tried to sell me new tires to". I am so done and since I bought insurance 2 years ago, that is the only time I'm coming back to get my new tires when I need them. Other than that, I will not be returning to this shady place nor will my friends. The manager Randy hasn't called nor has B called to apologize. Just shady and rude. This place is awesome. I came from big O tire in Livermore because they told me my tire had an unrepairable flat but I wanted a second opinion. I am so glad I got that second opinion because big discount tire pro was able to repair the flat. Now I know when I need new tires, I'm definitely coming here because they're not so money hungry for business that they are willing to lie. Usually bring our company cars here and great service but let me down today with my personal car. Had appointment for my brakes and waited 4.5 hours with the car sitting inside only to find after I finally asked that they got the wrong brakes. No call or anything to tell me this. Then got a price 4x to get the right ones and would have to leave it. My review may change after I actually buy tires from Big Discount but I wanted to post about my experience today. I was told by the dealership where I take my car that I need a new set of tires and alignment. I thought it was a bit weird as the car is only three years old and I don't drive it that much. But, just to make sure, I asked a friend where he recently bought tires and then headed over to Big Discount (his recommendation) to see how much new tires would run... not only did they provide an estimate in writing but on checking my current tires they told me new tires weren't necessary at this time. To me, that's honesty and that's something I value. I will do business with Big Discount when the time arises because of their honesty. Customer relations: Extremely poor follow up after job was completed. Billing clerk left me sitting 1 1/2 hours beyond work completion. I was waiting while tire work was being done. I observed others being notified when cars were ready, so I waited patiently. As it got toward evening there were only two of us waiting (between 4-5PM). The clerk receives completed work orders for billing; I assumed my car just was not done. The place was emptying out. I was walking around & a service guy saw me and asked what car was I waiting on. He found it had been finished an hour & half earlier! The clerk never offered a courtesy inquiry or showed concern. I did not get a text; there was no msg left at home either & my name wasn't called -- Clerk claimed that all failed; not true. This was extremely neglectful & irresponsible. read more

I highly recommend this tire shop! A few months ago, I got a nail in my tire and had it patched at a random tire place in Richmond--only spot open on a Sunday. Ever since, my tire light kept coming on, but I hadn't had the time to get it checked. Today light was on again and since I work in Alameda, I finally found this shop, and I'm so glad I did. As soon as I walked in, Ronnie greeted me and let me know they could take a look. DJ added air to my tire, checked everything thoroughly, and even found a slow leak. A cup of coffee while you wait (not gourmet but it's the thought that counts). And fast turnaround, even without an appointment. I came here about a month ago to get some new tires that I purchased online installed on my Bronco. I've been here before, and the staff up front is very professional and quick to get you set up. I made an appointment, came in at the allotted time, and ended up waiting almost 4.5 hours for the shop guys to mount and balance these tires. Please realize, they're 35" tires, however...4.5 hours? Plus the fact that they initially had to locate the right socket to take my lugs off. I've never experienced that before from previous tire shops. I currently don't have a spare, so I don't carry an extra socket. After waiting until they were pretty much closing shop, I got my vehicle and as I'm driving down the road, my rear is vibrating and bouncing. I deal with it, but I have no intention of returning to this particular shop to only have to wait hours on end. Fast forward a couple of weeks later. I take it to Americas Tire in Concord and they tell me that the tire is unable to be balanced and that the tire is defective. I told them it might be the wheel, so I brought another wheel in and it turns out it is in fact the tire. No matter how much weight was added, it would not balance out. Fortunately there is a manufacturer warranty. The guys at Big Discount tires never even mentioned the fact that the tire wasn't balanced properly. They never road tested it, and they had to know before they turned over the vehicle to me. Not only that, I ended up spending 100 dollars more than if I had gone to Americas Tire. Not only did they charge me way less than BDT, but they got one tire done in 10-15 mins. Needless to say I was immensely disappointed with the shop service I received here, and I'll be going out to concord from now on. Not only that, but the manager is willing to work me on getting another tire if the online company gives me the run around. That's great customer service. read more

I can't expect more from a tire shop. Gary seems to run the place and it's all about customer service. Their pricing seems to be competitive and their shop is big and organized. I needed a rotation and a nail repair. I set an appointment and was in and out in less than two hours. They do oil changes, alinements and they may do other things too. Came here after I got a flat bc they were the closest to where I live and I got and they took my car in same day. I asked to replace the flat and asked them to repair a tire that kept losing air. I got my car back new tire and I thought everything was fine. Couple weeks later the tire pressure light is back on and I call them and they tell me to come in only to tell me they can't fit me in. Ok so now I'm annoyed cuz they wasted my time. Ended up just going to Costco and getting the tire repaired there. I wouldn't recommend this place cuz they failed at the one thing they do and didn't actually repair my tire, which I'm pretty sure I paid for. Disgusted. I called to see if any availability for a walk-in today. Maria said to come in the next 30 minutes so we can see you. I asked if we could get an inspection and if it was free and she said yes. Of course, we would be charged for any services afterward. Drove down with my family to be greeted by a man at the counter glasses who didn't get his name but was serious about the number I called being the wrong number. That the inspection was not free and our car would not be looked at today. I was appalled at his saying that the number I called was not the phone number. I called and put it on speaker it proved it was indeed the store's phone number and the woman I spoke to who was at the counter next to him was indeed the lady I spoke to on the phone. Lost our trust right out the gate and business. I would not suggest coming here if you want honest knowledgeable people. The Solution here is going to Tirechoice over at Marina Square they did our inspection for free and were very friendly and helped us right away. Walked right up to the vehicle as we pulled up and already started to look at it. I am so happy! Blessing in disguise. read more

This review is a composite of my visits between 2016 - 2023. Generally the service was pretty good until early 2020. They keep good records of their work. They have been able to take my car in emergencies. Once, my husband totally jammed a seat that folds up and down. These guys were able to take the seat apart, reconstruct it, and put it back in the car. They charged me for 1 hr of labor, which I felt was very fair. When my car needed major work, I asked them to assess it and call me with the diagnosis. They concluded nothing was wrong with the car and charged me $250 for the diagnosis. Then the car died in their parking lot when I was leaving. That's when they called in their "senior mechanic" to assess the car. After 4 days of assessment they diagnosed the problem and made a successful repair. I paid full price for the repair. I felt the $250 on the diagnosis was wasted. My parents who also go here have a similar story where the first diagnosis turned up with nothing wrong, the car died a week later, and then these guys successfully fixed it. I could be wrong, but based on their explanations it seems like they have 2 or 3 senior mechanics. Everyone else is pretty early in their career. If a car breaks down, the first time I get a junior mechanic, if it breaks a second time, I get a coveted senior mechanic. This practice ensure I pay twice and my time is wasted. I personally find Gary overbearing. My husband and I asked for a couple minutes to discuss a potential repair and he kept insisting that we should do it. I tried to explain we're thinking about selling the car but he would not listen. Lastly, an oil change is just that. They change the oil. I ask them to perform a full maintenance service based on the manufacturer's recommendation. They don't do this. Twice my brakes have been at zero and I've come in. My old mechanic would tell me things like "the brakes are at 40%, you should expect to replace them in X months". These guys don't do maintenance, they do oil changes only. I am not a car person and it took me awhile to realize what was happening. I do not bring my business here anymore. read more
