Our regular carpet cleaning company had their truck break down the day before our scheduled cleaning, which they had to cancel. We had a wedding shower at our house that coming weekend so we really needed the service. I found Pacific Carpet Care's phone number and called but it was such short notice they were booked. Later that day, Sigi from the office called me with a cancelation. Roy was the technician who came out. He did such a beautiful job we were blown away. Our golden retriever has cancer, and had been peeing on our light sand colored colored bedroom rug - a situation we are living with because we love the dog - and previous cleaning had not been very effective, so we had no expectations. My experience with the carpet technician was fantastic. The carpets looked great after he was done. But after everything dried I noticed many of the stains came back. But that wasn't the problem. It was how the woman whom I spoke to on the phone afterwards treated me. She was appallingly rude and literally hung up on me. I'm still in shock at how terrible her customer service (and listening) skills were. Full story below. When stains come back after a cleaning it's called "wicking." I used to be a carpet cleaning tech myself years ago. And when stains would come back we would head back out and just do a simple, quick spot treatment of the stains. It's called good customer service. The cleaning was done on a vacant guest house (converted garage) my wife and I bought and were not living in yet. Since the purchase, we were dealing with other home emergencies like the master shower (in the main house) not draining, or the toilet that was leaking everywhere, or the cracked foundation, replacing the clogged septic tank, etc etc. There was sooo much to take care of during the first 2 months after moving in. So amidst dealing with the home-repair-chaos mentioned above - I did notice many stains come back just days after the cleaning -- but due to the higher priority life items listed above, I wasn't able to call Pacific Carpet Care about the "wicking" stains until almost 2 months after service. I call in and politely tell her the situation that a lot of stains re-appeared after drying. Well before I could even ASK what I was looking for (which was simply for someone to come to a quick spot treatment to remove the leftover stains. Not a refund. Not a full, new cleaning for free. Just spot treatment) She went into full blown attack mode - and flat out treated me like I was one of those nightmare-ish, unreasonable customers who demands refunds over the smallest of things. Ummm. I'm not that guy. Hell, I even tipped the tech when was done! Yet, I was treated like the slimiest, over-demanding customer she's ever talked to. The moment she discovered it had been almost 2 months since the cleaning, she refused to listen to anything I had to say. Constantly interrupting me, painting me as a cheap customer, assuming SO much without even listening. Now I'm not stupid. I fully realized that calling almost 2 months after service doesn't entirely work in my favor. But I know for a fact that these stains are the same stains from before the cleaning. So I called prepared and *tried* to explain my situation with constant interruptions and rude disbelief on her part. I offered before and after photos with timestamps of the same stain patterns (which she refused to look at). I also told her that I used to work in the carpet cleaning business and that "wicking" isn't abnormal. It happens. Her response was something like "I've been doing this for X amount of years and stains just don't come back like that! They must be from the movers shoes, or yourself. It's been 2 months!!!" No matter what reasonable/logical point I would make regarding the stains coming back (or why I wasn't able to call in until 2 months after service), she just wasn't going to have it and ***hung up on me.*** I've worked in service-based industries for most of my life and I can't even imagine treating an honest, well-meaning customer this way. I was really shook after this call as I rarely ever encounter drama or being treated so poorly. Again, she never even asked what it was that I was looking for. She only argued, didn't listen, interrupted, and hung up on me. They may do their best work when the come and do the job. But beware if you ever have to call back as you'll probably be treated like complete dirt. I would never recommend this company based on how their main point of contact treated me. My real estate broker, who used to send business their way, said that based on how I was treated (which is the opposite of how he treats his customers) -- he's no longer going to send any clients to Pacific Carpet Care. read more

After one week of my large wool living room rug was taken to be cleaned it was returned to me one minute before the time of day that was set. We moved into a new house last year and our contractors kind of messed up some carpet while painting and did a not quite wonderful job cleaning it up. To be fair, they're not professional carpet cleaners, and apparently, professional carpet cleaners have access to some state of the art machinery not available to most civilians. Our carpet was a little stained, and had a stiff, crunchy texture after the cleaning, and we decided to look into getting it cleaned again. More accurately, we sat on our asses thinking it might be nice if the carpet were all better, and then someone posted a thread about carpet cleaners on Nextdoor. I had just enough initiative to click through and saw multiple people recommending Pacific Carpet Care, including the owner of a carpet business that refers them regularly, without ever hearing complaints. I made a phone call, and the woman I spoke with was warm and helpful, answering all my questions clearly. She didn't promise she could make our carpet pristine--she gave me a few carpet-is-fucked scenarios--but she said if it was fixable, they would be able to fix it. She gave me a quote and booked an appointment for me a few days later. I was at work when they came on a Saturday afternoon, but my husband was home to receive them. I don't have a play by play of how our carpet got clean, but they came when they were supposed to, and were fast and professional. We paid less than we feared we were in for--like a couple hundred bucks--and our carpet looks and feels worlds better. There are still some light paint stains, unfortunately, though not so bad that I ever notice, but the texture is soft again, nice and conditioned. We bought a smelly rug and a fabric couch recently, so I suspect we'll be calling Pacific Carpet Care again before long. I have used this company in the past multiple times. The cleaning portion has been five stars (*****) every time. The employee who is doing the work, whose name was Israel, was very professional, fast, and courteous, but the owner's customer service sucks!!! For cleaning three small bedrooms, she charged me $250. I was advised if I wanted to use my credit card I had to pay an additional 4%. First of all the credit card company for VISA/Mastercard usually charge merchants anywhere from 1.5% to 3%. How do I know that? Because I'm a business owner myself. The owner is trying to make money from the credit card surcharges as well. I don't know that many people using checks these days. I contacted the owner "SIGI" and advised her that I received a mailer from her company for 15% off. At first, she denied having any advertisements through the mail and when I showed it to Israel on my phone, she said "I can't accept that because I need the actual advertisement postcard." The advertisement postcard was received by me on February 1, 2021, via USPS and I contacted her on February 3rd, 2021. After few minutes, she said, "I can't honor the ad because that's for upholstery cleaning." I was so frustrated for being a repeat customer and being treated this way. I told Israel to charge me for the full amount and I hung up on Sigi. This company has lost a customer and with her attitude, she will lose more customers to come. There is a lot of carpet cleaning business that will take my business at a much better price. For her to charge $260 for three small bedrooms, she needs to learn some salesmanship. They referred me to Pacific Carpet Care when I finally decided to have our slate and travertine floors cleaned, for the first time in 20 years. The two floor experts that started our job this morning, were very professional, knowledgeable, and worked efficiently. They proved that our slate floors could look colorful, and new, after years of dirt were washed away. By both a machine, and by the guys getting on their hands and knees scrubbing all the groves in the stone. The owner Sigi, has been extremely patient with us on the phone, as this job was a bit more complicated than originally thought. I haven't met her personally, but she has gained my respect. I called the office on Saturday to find out about when we could schedule the carpets to be cleaned. I spoke to Sigi who set up the time & talked about the technicians. She explained that one would come in & measure before starting to clean. The truck arrived at our house this morning at 7:45a.m. Israel knocked on our front door to start the measuring process of the carpeted areas. They did use social distancing by wearing masks. After measuring, he asked me to please move my car on to the street so that they could pull into the driveway. Israel & Rof proceeded to setup their hoses & equipment for cleaning. Israel & Rof were polite, respectful & worked well together. They were professionals!! Our carpets look brand new! I would definitely use this company to clean my rugs. They later gave me a verbal quote which I accepted. I asked them to give me the quote in writing. They refused and then proceeded to tell me over and over again that they won't move any furniture and they also won't polish the floor after cleaning it. Pacific Carpet Care was referred to me to strip and rewax my vinyl kitchen flooring. Since a linoleum company referred me, I was expecting everything to go well. I phoned, gave the gentleman who answered the floor's measurements and he quoted a price of $395. Considering it was a small floor, I thought the price was very high but went for it due to the referral source. Their worker showed up on time, talked to me for a couple of minutes, then went to the truck, unloaded his equipment and then returned with a contract for $600. I couldn't believe it!!! When I said he could go, he had me speak with a woman Sigge at the office. She was very rude, said my floor was larger than I reported, except he had no time or opportunity to measure it. She was very unpleasant and I said he could leave. She kept talking, and since he was there I finally agreed to pay $450 just to get it done. He removed chairs and other items from the kitchen, put them in the living room and started working. He indicated he liked the way I spoke to Sigge because she does that to all their clients. He stripped and waxed the floor and left the last coat on very wet and left my house. The next day, I noticed the uneven coat of wax and the bubbles and fog appearing in various places on the wax. He had said if there was a problem, to call Sigge and she would send him out to fix it at no cost. So I phoned Sigge and she began arguing with me why she should do anything for free, etc. I said she should ask her employee why he told me that and hung up. She then called back to say he would be there at 3 to take pictures, like the ones I sent her couldn't be relied on? He came, took a couple of photos and left, saying she would call me to set up an appointment. She never called. I called her on Tuesday and she said she'd fix the two vinyl squares. I said there were various areas and her employee said the floor just needed to be buffed. She argued about that and I asked when could they come out to fix it. She said they wouldn't be able to send someone this week because they were not working and I should call her after Labor Day - (today's Tuesday). In the meantime all my kitchen furniture is still in the living room. UPDATE: I called on Tuesday after Labor Day. Sigge said she would call me back with a time they could come and fix it on Saturday. She never called back, so I phoned on Friday and was told they would come out on between 9 and 11. A gentleman showed up at 9, looked at the floor and buffed the worst part of the floor which now shined beautifully, so I asked him to buff the rest so it matched and he was kind enough to do so. The floor now looks beautiful and I'm finally happy. He also helped me move the furniture back into the kitchen. I'm glad they did their best to satisfy me. Sigge called me later to make sure I was satisfied and I assured her I was and that I would update my review. read more
