    Steak tacos and house salad
    S. M.

I don't like to leave bad restaurants reviews especially for new restaurants because I know how hard they've worked to open but I feel very sad to say that we were pretty disappointed with the food. It's a beautiful restaurant that gives vacation vibes and I was so excited to try it, but the food we ordered was not to our liking at all. The biggest disappointment were the fish and chips. You can choose between 2 or 3 pieces of fish so we asked our server if the portions were big and she said yes, so we ordered the 2 piece meal. When the plate arrived we were left staring at the plate surprised at how small the fish pieces were. It was like one piece cut into two. They were about the length of a French fry. Besides that, they appeared as if they had been sitting under the light (along with the fries) for a longer period of time then they should have. We were left feeling very unfulfilled after this meal. This is called Pacific Catch. It's supposed to be great seafood. That's why we were very perplexed. We also ordered the steak tacos with salad. The salad was interesting and tasted good. The steak tacos were filled with cold slaw and shredded carrots giving it a sweet flavor that I wasn't expecting. So for these reasons, we do not desire to return. The staff was very nice and friendly.

Food quality is similar to the fast casual seafood restaurants where you order at the counter and they call your number. You will be paying quite a bit more for the nice restaurant atmosphere. 4/5 grilled kanpachi. The grilled fish was the only thing good for this meal. Even their aioli for the grilled zucchini tasted like plain mayo. 2/5 guaca-poke was fishy. I ate around the fish and just scooped the guacamole 3/5 mixed fried seafood platter. At $28 this dish should come with fresh French fries. The ones that came out have been under a heat lamp long enough to make them chewy.

We have visited this great seafood restaurant in Tustin a while ago. So glad this Brea location is much closer to us. Place is very spacious and the patio area is lovely on a nice sunny day. The menus were big and a decent gluten free menu too. We decided on crab cakes and sea salt edamame for appetizers. Three tacos and warm lobster roll as entrees. Kimchi fried rice with egg as side and pineapple cake with banana gelato as desserts. Hubby had a couple Casamigos silver margaritas and they were great pours. I had a blood orange juice beverage which was refreshing but a bit sweet. Our server was very friendly and attentive. This is a great seafood restaurant that we will visit or DoorDash again soon!

3.5 stars Pacific Catch is a Californian coastal restaurant with multiple locations throughout the state. This location just opened up in the Brea Mall. It's a seafood restaurant but it pulls inspiration from a variety of places such as Hawaii, Mexico, and other Asian countries. They also have a variety of Hawaiian inspired cocktails, so much so that if you wear an aloha shirt on Fridays you get a mai tai for $6. There was patio, indoor, and bar seating. It's an open air restaurant but I found that the further in the restaurant you went the darker it was; there were no windows or natural lighting inside. I came during their aloha hour which was 3-6pm on weekdays and 3-5pm on weekends at the patio and bar. The spicy tuna rolls ($5) were just okay; they were more spicy from the jalapeño than the tuna itself which I don't think had any spice at all. The ceviche mixto ($10) was surprisingly liquidy and not what I expected. It was tart but I would've preferred less liquid. The glazed ribs ($10) had good flavor but some parts of the ribs were more tender than others. Some were a bit more dry and tough. For drinks the mai tai ($9) was good but on the slightly sweeter side. On the other hand, the hurricane ($15) was more spirit forward and tart, and I tasted more of the lime. I appreciated the weekend happy hour and the prices were pretty good for what I got. The food was decent and the drinks were good.

Great all-around experience here. Service: Alexis was friendly and took the time to explain everything to us. Food came out very quickly and was hot. Atmosphere: It was busy inside, but it was overly loud, like some places. We were here with my parents, who are older and don't like loud places anymore. It was nice to hear my parents from across the table. Food: Food was great, but nothing super special. We'd come back since we had a good overall experience. For vegetarians, there are options on the menu, but not a ton. They can substitute Tofu in some of the dishes. It seemed like they were accommodating and could modify existing dishes to suit your needs. There are also many side dishes to choose from. I had the Citrus Pepita Salad and Kimchi Fried Rice. Both were very good. Overall, it's a good addition to Brea Mall, and I'm sure it will get much busier when more people find out about it.

Vegetarians!! Yes you can eat here!! Seafood restaurants rarely have entree options for vegetarians and most of the time you're ordering just sides or a salad. But this restaurant has tofu!! A big plus in my book! The staff was really nice and also mentioned to us that they had tofu, which was great to hear! I got the Grilled teriyaki bowl with tofu and it was delicious, flavorful, healthy and I loved it! I was very impressed with the quality of food and also loved the indoor decor. Beautiful! I've also heard that the Lobster Roll is a favorite here as well. I will be back and will happily order the tofu here all the time!! Thank you Pacific Catch for thinking of vegetarians and allowing us to enjoy your delicious food and wonderful restaurant.

My family and I really enjoyed the food here, it was super fresh and tasted delicious! We went during happy hour and sat on the patio but it wasn't too hot at all and they can also put the shade down to block the sun. Our favorites were: spicy tuna roll, guaca-poke, Serrano poke, crispy brussel sprouts and the summer sea bass dish. The service was amazing, our server was very friendly and attentive. Tuesday's are also 50% wine bottles during happy hour which is a great deal. Would love to come back again. Nice atmosphere and good food. Parking can be found in the parking structures for the mall.

I've been hearing great things about Pacific Catch so my foodie friend and I came to check them out for ourselves. Pacific Catch is one of the new restaurants that are now open in the re-invented Nordstrom/(former) Sears parking lot. Since there's currently still a lot of construction going on in this area, up close parking is limited, but there is a parking structure nearby. The restaurant is very spacious and beautifully decorated and laid out. Much of the menu is sea food and Asian fusion inspired, which is reflected in the decor, setting a great island vibe as soon as you walk through the door. All the staff that we interacted with was very friendly and welcoming. Our server, Lauren, was great ~ she was knowledgeable about the menu and checked on us regularly to see if we needed anything. My friend has been on a quest to find a delicious lobster roll, so that's what she chose right away. I'd seen another Yelper's photos and review for the salmon chowder, so I also already knew what I was ordering. Both dishes were AMAZING!! The lobster roll was warm and proportionately filled in a row of Hawaiian rolls and came with clarified butter. My friend thoroughly enjoyed it! She was very kind to share some with me and I concur, it was delicious! My bowl of salmon chowder was also delicious! The chowder base was creamy yet not too heavy and the salmon is grilled separately and then added to the base. SO GOOD!! Something I'd definitely recommend and order again. Thank you to Alma R for her tip about this! We were gonna skip dessert, but when Lauren presented the dessert menu to us, we couldn't resist, so we added the Crispy Dulce de Leche "Spring Roll". Perfect to share, the fried "spring roll" has a cheesecake filling and is served with a scoop of banana dulce de leche gelato, all of which is drizzled with caramel sauce. All the textures and flavors worked together wonderfully and resulted in a very delightful way to finish our lunch. We're looking forward to coming back to try more of their menu offerings.

New spot at Brea Mall. Located on the outskirts of the mall near North Italia. Decor is nice with a relaxing vacay kind of ambience. Host and server were super cheery and helpful. Lots to choose from on the menu. Will defs come back and try a few more dishes. - Lobster Roll: very tasty 5/5 - Summer Sea Bass: was a bit heavy on the Mac crust but was good. The avo salad and Japanese yams were yum! Seabass wasn't as flaky as I had hoped. 4/5 - Korean Skirt Steak: marinated was on the sweeter side for me. The fried rice didn't do it for me, strong ketchup taste to it. The Brussels sprouts were amazing. (35) Also asked for the chimmichuri sauce on the side and it was bomb. Will defs order the skirt steak next time.

Absolutely loved my experience at Pacific Catch!! Glad they are close by in Brea for me to go to again and again. Beautiful coastal vibes with open airspace, nice outdoor seating, fresh seafood, and friendly service. Makes you feel like you're sitting in some tropical island restaurant. The ceviche was absolutely delicious! Would have over and over. Ahi poke was spicy enough. For the main entrée, we had the the Panko crusted seabass with purple potato mash and mango salad, tasty and light. Brussels sprouts was perfectly crispy and sweet potato fries are always a good choice. For the cocktails, I had the shark fin cocktail. Must try! My friends had the mai tai, strong but good.

My friend & I met up for lunch here today. It was both of our first time here & we left the place satisfied with our meal. I had the Citrus pepita salad with shrimp & the greens in that salad were fresh along with everything else included in it blended well together. The seasoning on the shrimp was delicious & I like that they give you ample amount of shrimp which I appreciated bc it's pretty pricey here. I honestly didn't try the dressing on the side bc the dish itself had good flavor. I would definitely order this again whenever I'm in there mood for a salad. My friend tried the Ahi poke bowl & she enjoyed it. The ambiance was nice & modern. We sat outside in the patio. Our server was friendly & attentive. Their menu had many great options to choose from. I look forward to coming back to try more items on their menu. Btw, this isn't an AD but if you download inkind App, you get 20% cash back. With everything expensive these days, who doesn't want cash back when available!

I'm so happy to see that they're finally opened in Brea! They've only been there about a month but I can tell it's going to be super super popular! We started with a cup of their Salmon Chowder... OMG, what a delicious treat!! Why hasn't anyone else done this before?! I can tell this is going to be my staple when dining there. We also started with their famous Guaca-Poke and it's as delicious as it sounds! We went during happy hour so the starters were a couple of bucks cheaper so that was cool. I also had an Agave Margarita and it was really good. For our entrees my hubby got the Shrimp Al Pastor and he was in heaven! It came with the most scrumptious Mexican style zucchini and cilantro lime brown rice. I had their Rainbow Chirashi and it was big enough to share. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I loved that it came with a scoop of REAL crab salad. Everything about it was to die for! The ambiance was super cute! We sat on the patio and it has a cool fireplace setting where you can sit around it and a cool couch nearby. Get this, all the patio tables came with their own individual heat lamps made by Focal Heating that you can control with your phone! Our server was Sean and he kept checking in on us making sure we lacked nothing. All in all, 5 Yelp Stars to my new favorite restaurant!

$15 BLOOD ORANGE MARGARITA: delicious cocktails! Great presentation & unique flavors.

We waited almost 40 minutes for our food, which was frustrating enough. I ordered several pieces of salmon and yellowtail nigiri, and every single one had wasabi hidden underneath the fish. There was no indication on the menu, and our server never mentioned it. My mouth was on fire, but what upset me most was that my son also took a bite and had the same experience. Plenty of kids eat sushi, and customers should be told if wasabi is already included under the fish. When I brought it up, our server apologized and initially said it wasn't supposed to come that way. Then the owner said it was intentional. Another owner tried to tell me it was "traditional" and "common," even though it wasn't disclosed anywhere. Instead of acknowledging that customers should be informed, I felt like they were trying to convince me the problem was mine. They also brought us our roll 45 mins later that was mostly avocado with very little fish and missing cucumber which only added to the disappointment. To their credit, they did remove our bill, and I appreciate that. However, by that point the experience had already been soured by the lack of communication and the way our concerns were handled. A simple warning that the nigiri is served with wasabi under the fish would have prevented the entire situation.

To be honest, the main reason I come here is because my child enjoys the revolving sushi experience. I don't have particularly strong positive or negative opinions about the food. The quality is fairly consistent for a chain restaurant, and the service is acceptable. My biggest issue with this location is the space. It's very small and often feels crowded, which makes dining less enjoyable for me. Sitting side-by-side with strangers can be uncomfortable, and I'm always conscious of accidentally bumping into someone. I've visited this location more than three times, always on weekends with reservations. Unfortunately, even with a reservation, we've typically had to wait around 30 minutes before being seated. If I had other options, I would probably avoid this location altogether. The long wait despite having a reservation is frustrating, and I much prefer dining in places that are spacious, bright, and comfortable. If you're coming with kids who love the revolving sushi concept, it can still be a fun experience. For me, however, the crowded environment and frequent wait times make it less appealing.

I told my son that it was like an advent calendar ~ each course we "opened" had us saying "ooo, how yummy" and left us with almost giddy anticipation of what we'd discover next. If you're looking for something fun and unique for a special occasion, I highly recommend the full omakase experience at Akashiro!

It's a Saturday and husband was ready for sushi. I had another place in mind, but they didn't take…read morereservations and we're not about to chance it and wait. So we found this place and it was in the same vicinity and yay, they took reservations. Made reservations same day for a 18:30 seating. Service is impeccable. We were welcomed with hot towels, and this impressed me: when our server asked if we wanted cold or hot water. Love it! We opted for hot, better for digestion :) Our libation: Kubota sake - semi dry, rich, clean Our dishes: Assorted sashimi (16 pcs) - omakase. No soy sauce needed. Chef prepared with delicious flavors in mind. Tiger scallops - served in a what appears to resemble petrified wood, carved into a long boatlike dish. Hokkaido shrimp, cilantro oil, chilaquita (Peruvian onion relish), sweet potato crisp, smoke aji Amarillo (Peruvian yellow chili) Leche de tigre (rich emulsion of limes, Peruvian spices and chilis) - A complexity of flavors that comes together so completely. Eat with spoon. The delicate potato crisp finishes the bite with a little crunch. Udon picante - bell peppers, quinoa and 2 jumbo shrimp. Love the heat level. Comfort food at its best. Salmon parmesan - Nikkei sushi - seared salmon, parmesan bitter, eel sauce , arare, lime. Amazing. O toro sushi - the fattiest cut of tuna. Eat as is. Again chef prepared. No added seasoning required. Parri maki - fried shrimp, cream cheese, seared tuna topped with chimichurri, aji amarillo, chalaquita, ponzu. Food experience was enhanced by their impeccable taste in music. Super chill, soft beats stream the restaurant. With its perfect lighting too sets all the good moods for us. Don't wait for this fine dining experience of Japanese and Peruvian fusion. Note: when they ask if you want soy sauce, say No, thank you. It would be a shame to kill the taste of a beautiful dish with any added sauce. Kampai! Salud!
