Let me start by saying I have the worst luck for a car guy and getting his car hit. I always want my car to be perfection and Don knows this. That being said he took care of every need helping me out to get my show car back to the way it was before hit. Normally that'd be an impossible take anywhere else but for Don and his team they really did it. I had thoughts of selling after it was fixed but once I saw the job they did I didn't wanna sell I wanted to pick up where I left on the car. Thanks don sorry for how long the review took! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CAR SHOP. IT IS A JOKE. The lack of communication of Don and Tammy is ridiculous and nonexistent. I brought my car in for a small paint job and a replacement of the front grill. I got a quote from Don and requested to bring the car in next week. Immediately red flags as Don is forgetful, tells him something and then he forgets it. I bought the car in on Tuesday (January 21st), was told by Don that the job will be done in 2-3 days. I ended up picking up the car on Saturday 5 days later, just to be told by Don that he ordered the wrong front bumper and said he would call me when it arrives. He never called me once. I don't know you could order the wrong part for the car when you have the VIN number and car specs. The front bumper still hasn't arrived yet as off Friday when I called them twice. A 3 day job to complete a small job turns into more than a two weeks job. This shop is a joke, I don't recommend this shop at all. All they do is make excuses why they can't get the job done. I wish I knew before getting the work done here. I still haven't got the grill replaced. read more

Excellent experience, was referred here and also checked Yelp by my insurance for damage to my car. Just like everyone before me has said Don is as great. Very responsive, explained the process, gave me an accurate timeline and was prompt with the updates to my car. I was very pleased with the result. I can't comment on the value because my insurance paid a portion and I paid the deductible. If someone were coming here and paying out of pocket I don't think they'd be disappointed. This was eye opening. Two days ago, I lightly bumped a pole, creating a 4 inch "crack" on my front bumper. I got four quotes to repair it, all along Miramar Road; they ranged from $850-$1260. My fifth quote was from Pacific Coast; Don was the only one who told me "just the paint is cracked, the plastic is OK", quoted $450 and said he'd try and get it done before traffic gets too bad today. The car was ready at 2 pm and looks great. They even fixed additional abrasions that were already there, at no additional charge. read more

I've had 3 interactions with Pacific Coast Auto Body, and every time they've saved me. First time I had a little bit of frame damage to the undercarriage below my hood, which was creating a little gap in the front of my car between the hood and the grill. They fixed it easily. The second time I'd run into a rock that was just out of view on the passenger side of my car- it was super inopportunely placed at the end of an island in the middle of a parking lot... (pictures attached). The last time I went I had a little bit of damage to my bumper that had threatened to cost 50% more at the other guys' shop. I wanted to give Pacific Coast a shout out. They fixed and Mazda to perfection. I got tee boned and they fixed my car with care and love. Since they had my car I had them go ahead and fix minor body damage that was there when I bought it. I will say that it did take longer then they quoted but they found a safety issue and had to order a part that took forever to get in. (Maybe because of COVID-19). For no charge they even did some touch up work on my bumper and somehow made the plastic that goes around the wheel wells look like new. Brought in my old jeep (that I have kept way too long but just can't let go of) with a giant rust spot on the roof above the passenger door and a massive dent in the rear passenger door from where I ran the jeep into a tree while pulling another car out of a ditch. It is seriously a chop shop. Brought my car in and not only did they keep saying "on monday" for a month, but when I brought my car to BMW, they said that the door was missing a "huge amount of hardware". I was rear ended in late January by a person who wanted to pay directly for the repairs rather than go through insurance. The next day I stopped by Pacific Coast Auto Body for a quick quote and they ordered the part (this was a cosmetic repair to the rear bumper). A few weeks later when I arrived for the repair to be done, we realized that we needed additional parts. Pacific Coast Auto Body tracked down the necessary part from Mazda (not easy) and ordered it (took a few weeks to arrive). After lots of back and forth between the parties the repairs were completed in one day and my rear bumper looks brand new! Also, I almost didn't recognize my disgusting mom mobile because they washed it before I picked it up! i recently had my car fixed here for a dent on the rear left side of my car. the shop fixed it in a reasonable and efficient amount of time (considering holiday season) and did a great job. they also gave me the lowest estimate for the repairs and i feel as though this is a body shop that will be true and honest and not just try and rip people off. the people working (especially the owner? not sure if he's the owner or manager) are very nice and the customer service is great. they even took care of a small mark on the front of my car. read more

If you were a No on Prop 8 voter, boycott Pacific Coast Auto Body. Owner Don Nordgren, Sr. seemed like a nice enough guy when he picked me up from work to pick up my car from his shop. We made light conversation on the economy, and he seemed to be an Obama supporter, though I was afraid to ask. As it turns out, I should have been, because his business officially endorsed the Proposition 8 campaign which succeeded in revoking my right to marry. As far as the actual work was concerned, I had a spoiler painted here before and I was happy with them. I came back to get a quarter panel and bumper repaired, and they did a poor job, offering to re-sand a glaring, rough edge in the paint job where they had masked the pinstriping instead of repainting it. To their credit, after dropping off my car to have part re-sanded, they ended up repainting the whole job- but they did it without asking, such that I was stranded without a car for the rest of the day. Their re-done paint job isn't as smooth as the paint on the rest of the car, and still has visible masking seems in the paint where the body panels meet. They were supposed to replace a wheel also, but it's taken them over a month to locate the OEM wheel. Granted, it's a specialty option, but it's not like it didn't come from the factory. I'm just going to ask them to cut me a check from insurance. The business is family run, with Dad owning the shop, daughter running the front desk and son Don Jr. doing estimates and managing operations. Too bad they supported such a nasty and bigoted ballot initiative. They have permanently lost my business, and the business of anyone who trusts my opinion. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS GUY! I called on Tuesday, December 18 to make an appointment for 10 a.m. on 12/19. My insurance company gave me this company as an "recommended" provider for some body work I needed after an accident. I showed up at 10:01 a.m. and his service tech wandered in and asked "Are you here to see ___"? (I forgot the guy's name.) I said "Well I'm here for an estimate on body work. I had a 10 a.m. appointment and I'm not sure who it was with." "OK," the tech said. He just left but is coming back. Let me call him. So the tech steps out and comes back in a minute later with the phone and said "he wants to talk to you." "Hello?" I said, into the cell phone the tech called him on. "Hi. Go ahead and leave the car and I'll write a list of what needs to be done and will call you back. I don't really take walk ins." "I can't really do that. I drove the car here." "Well I'm sorry. I don't take walk-ins." "I'm not a walk-in. We made an appointment yesterday on the phone for 10 a.m. today!" "Oh! What is it you need?" "Body work. I was in an accident and the insurance company recommended you. I told you this on the phone yesterday." "Oh, so you need an estimate!" "Yes, and I had a 10 a.m. appointment. I made it with you yesterday. It appears you forgot and thought I was a walk-in, so I'll tell you what. I'm going to walk out. I made time out of my day to be here and you can't be bothered to even remember, much less BE here!" I hung up the phone, handed it back to the service tech and apologized for my tone and then got right back into my 2012 Mercedes and called another company on the list the insurance company gave me. So so work... I have been to auto body shop that can make your car looks brand new but not this place. The damages are still noticeable if I look closely. I have given them a second chance.
