Such wonderful customer service. I had gotten into an accident a year prior and had to have the front of my beautiful Porsche repaired. A year later I noticed a small chip in the front of the paint- which appeared to be from a rock; however the way the paint peeled wasn't normal. They could have easily said it wasn't covered from the chip, but the owner came over and looked at the peeling and said they would honor the work either way and make sure it was perfect. Great experience and fantastic work. Someone backed into the front of my new Porsche 911, and we needed to replace the front bumper. West Coast told me they'd be able to start working on it right away, and they were true to their word. They never gave me the run-around, and they were very easy to deal with. The quality of the work was just phenomenal: I had a hard-to-match paint color, but I would never have known that the front bumper was replaced. When they delivered the car to me, they weren't satisfied with the final finish, but since I wanted the car for the weekend, they asked me to come back later so they could go over it with a clay bar and get the finish absolutely perfect. I didn't ask for it - they did - and they went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Fantastic job! At the beginning of COVID, We had our car in a different body shop for over 4 months out of town due to the rarity of the car and COVID making the parts difficult to obtain from overseas, yadda yadda yadda. So, when we FINALLY got to drive it home and an unidentified flying object came hurling at our car, hitting our hood and then our windshield (the thing looked like a hockey puck!?), I was DREADING having to find another body shop that wouldn't hold our vehicle hostage and repeat this process all over again. After doing thorough research and even getting other estimates, thankfully, my husband found West Coast Specialities. We are so happy we ended up going with WCS. Ryan is awesome to work with and handled my paranoid attitude after having to put my car in the body shop again. I wanted to know every detail and timeline and they were fine with it. He was able to remove the dent from the hood and replaced the windshield. A new clear bra was put on and when we picked it up, we were so relieved to have our car back in less than 3 weeks. These guys are great! They took care of my BMW M3 much better than the body shop I used before. So much so I regret not going with them for previous work. I came in with a dent/scrape on the left part of my rear bumper. It was bad enough for me to wonder if I needed to replace the whole bumper cover. Which would have been pretty expensive. When I came to pick the car up, the bumper was like new. Flawless and beautiful. David was very attentive to my concerns as well as giving me a very accurate initial estimate for the repairs. No surprises upon payment. Which is always nice. They even detailed my car too. Turn around time was about 5 business days with plenty of communication from David via email and text. Jesus Christ run from this place. They took 6 months to "fix" my car. Oh during that time it was sitting in their yard and on the day they were supposed to have it done they began the work which was absolute shit and rushed. They wrecked my car moving it after the repair and tried blaming it on us. My partner made them physically show him the footage from the cameras on site proving they did the damage to which they FINALLY admitted to. My car was in for a minor bumper repair originally quoted as 2-3 day repair which took over 6 months and it has cost me over $5,000 and counting to repair what they did. I cane to a stop at a crosswalk for a pedestrian, the guy behind me didn't. The rear end of my Porsche Panamera was cracked and my camera stopped working. The paint was scratched, and it was just an eyesore to drive. I called around and got WCS by referral from another repair shop. Porsche Certified establishment. Ryan took care of me. He shook my hand, called enterprise for me, and took the other guys insurance info. He made it seem really easy. I yelped WCS prior to driving up. Most are 5 stars, with a few that didn't like the wait time. Ryan informed me of the approval process he has to go through from insurance companies and the order process for parts. It's not just grabbing a bumper from a box out back. In the end it took about 5 working days, and my rear end absolutely shined when I picked up my car. Just imagine seeing your beautiful car in disarray then seeing her just as beautiful as the day she was made. The before pic doesn't do it justice. Later that same day the license plate holder fell off. If you look close you can see the crack and how it bows out. I don't know - am I suppose to find that I've been adequately informed or that I am being taking care of? You tell me - my most recent communication and oh, the car has been in this shop already for 6 weeks. Unfortunately this process is taking far longer than I anticipated it would. There's no excuse or reason I can give other than it's just a very time consuming repair process. I've personally never overseen a repair like this in my career, so my expectations for the repair timeline were grossly miscalculated. The car is still setup on the bench getting the kink taken out of the frame rail. In all honesty, I don't know when we're going to have it ready for you, but I'll be able to give you a really good ballpark once the car comes off the bench and heads to the paint department. Just to give a rough guess as of right now, I'd say sometime around two weeks from now? But I'm not 100% sure of that at this point in the process, and like I said, I'll be able to give you a really firm target date when the car heads to paint. read more

This place is awesome came in a year ago for paint repair on my Maserati and the work was done perfectly as if there was no damage or work ever done to my car. Customer service was above perfect the time and care that was put in on my car was great. I had a lot of questions and all of them where answered. My biggest issue was wanting make sure the work matched the rest of the car and it did. I don't even know where the damage was on my car any longer. I came in today for a plastic piece that was out of place on the car and he told me to come in and it was fixed in 15 mins. They did an Excellant job on my Black Car as far as body and paint damage is concerned. Quite pleased with the results. The timeline on the repair changed a few times during the process. My only disappointment was a couple of things during the repair of the passenger side appears when they were getting in and out of the car they left scratches on the inside instep of the door. They replaced the front splinter but it wasn't completely secured when replaced one side of the splinter is not properly secured. They explained they didn't order the proper part to secure it, didnt fix it, and gave me the vehicle back without properly correcting and securing the splinter properly. So was disappointed about that repair! read more

I took my 2-month old BMW M3 Convertible here at the recommendation of a friend. They were finishing up work on his Porsche 911. He got referred to them by the local Porsche dealership. WCS has a good reputation in San Diego, but they definitely left me with a very VERY sour taste in my mouth. Read on... To finish repairs, they promised/estimated 15 days to receive parts and 15 days to complete the body work. When all was said and done, they had my car for a total of 3, yes THREE, months. As each already extended due date approached, they came up with yet another excuse. Disclaimer: quotes are paraphrased from memory... "New laws in California require us to paint a certain way, which is why paint is taking so long." "You want your car to be perfect right? We do it the right way, so that's why it takes a long time." "We just got slammed with vehicles right after you brought yours in" When I picked up the vehicle, many of the parts were obviously not aligned correctly. I had to bring the vehicle back on another occasion to re-adjust the sloppy work the first time around. Now, after taking a third look, I see additional things that aren't just lining up right. I was originally promised, "we'll make your BMW look like it just came from the factory." Yeah right. Now here's the kicker.... some asshole side-swiped me a couple months after getting my car back from WCS. Yes, I know, either I or this car has bad luck. I got a recommendation to Phil Thearle's Autobdy from a friend who works in the local auto industry. When they pulled my car apart, they found non-BMW parts in my car from the previous repair. He claimed it looks like they "raided the spare parts box" when fixing my car. YIKES! read more

It really pays to know a GREAT body shop. I swear I'd fly my car out to this place if I had to. As others have mentioned, even though this shop is always swamped with Porsches, Ferraris and the like--they don't roll their eyes at your lowly car coming in. I've had the misfortune of needing their services on three separate occasions--and each time the work was phenomenal. It can be a little intimidating rolling up with your heap and seeing a classic Testarossa on the rack--but don't even worry about it. Drawbacks? They do take awhile. If you're expecting lightning quick turnaround this is not your shop. They seem careful here and are always, always busy. They will have your car for a good bit if it's anything major. Also they cost a grip--but on all three occasions I needed them it was the other driver's insurance company footing the bill--so why settle for anything but the best? All the more satisfying if you can stick the insurance company of the dipshit who crashed into you with a huge bill. There's nothing worse than getting your car back from work like this and being unsatisfied. As long as I'm in San Diego I won't take my car anywhere else if it needs work--these guys are the best there is. They're really nice also as others have mentioned. read more

Another car rear-ended my 1 year old BMW and I had heard many great things about West Coast Specialties. I decided to get an estimate through them, which turned out to be very reasonable. Every step of the process from getting an estimate, picking up my rental car, dealing with the insurance company and picking up my completed car was GREAT! Their quality of work was TOP NOTCH! They replaced my bumper and my trunk and they matched my Black Metallic paint PERFECTLY! They also did a top notch detail on my car. The lady that answer the phone who sounded like a robot was like 'we don't do any mechanical work.' Ok understandable, what about custom work. 'We dont do any custom work.' You didn't even ask what type of custom work or repairs I needed. Its called a CONSULTATIVE customer service approach. I needed custom body work for my Porsche 911. I need my rims repaired. I got my Tesla Model S repaired here and they did a fabulous job. They were able to match the multi-coat red paint perfectly. And they were able to get out a nasty rear quarter panel dent without replacing the whole panel. Overall I'm very satisfied with the job. I can't even tell the quarter panel has been repainted. I am soooo extremely happy with this shop! I was rear ended 3 days before christmas by a jerk who was texting in traffic on the freeway so he wasn't paying attention when we all stopped. Note to EVERYONE: texting and driving, not ok. Thankfully I was driving a tribute and he had a honda civic, I won that battle. So anyway, after dealing with his horrible insurance company I finally was able to take my car into the shop to get my rear bumper fixed. I took it in, Patrick was extremely nice and helpful. He called me daily to give me updates. A week later (bumper was on back order) I was able to pick my car up. My car looks beautiful again and they even washed it and cleaned the inside! I've never been able to get my car as clean inside as they did. And it was even better because it was totally unexpected! I loved how he made me feel at ease and comfortable with everything and kept me updated. This place does more of the higher end cars like ferrari's and porsche's, so even though I came in with my Mazda I was treated just as well. On Christmas night someone bashed in my rear window and tried to whack off my side mirror. I hope this person gets their karma. The following Monday I took my Honda CRV to this body shop. They got the parts on Tuesday finished the job that day as promised. The staff was friendly and didn't snub at my Honda amongst the lot of battered expensive European cars. West Coast Specialties was able to remove the dent above the right rear wheel of my exotic perfectly. The dent involved the crease that echoes the wheel opening which added some complexity, but they were able to remove the dent without filler and repaint with an exact color match. I am the pickiest person in the world about auto repairs. I've very closely examined the repaired area in all lighting conditions, from all angles, on the back side of the metal, and along all seams and trim pieces and I can tell you there is absolutely no way anyone will know there was ever a problem in that area. The color, the surface contour, and the paint smoothness all match the rest of the car perfectly. Ryan Hernandez was my POC and kept me posted every few days. He promised the car to me in "a week to a week and a half"...a total of 11 days passed between dropping it off and picking it up. Right on target I'd say! Their price for repairing an exotic is 2 to 2.5 times what a standard body shop would charge for a regular car, but for that price you get a repair done to perfection with no filler and absolutely zero clues that anything was ever wrong. To me, the price was worth it. (They do have a different cost structure for nonexotics but I did not use that service and therefore have no opinion of it...talk to WCS for more info on that) If you are looking for the best, West Coast Specialties gets my vote. read more

You know you are in good company when the owners of Maseratis, Land Rovers, Porches and Mercedes trust their auto body repairs to this place. On the recommendation of someone else, I took my C300 into them after scrapping a pole. They're estimate came in a little higher than my insurance wanted to pay - Wawa, but they worked it out. When the car came back it looked better than the day I bought it. There were some other issues that I had them do afterwards - they came and picked up the car from my work, fixed them and brought it back by the time I had to leave for home.
