They have been stringing me along and have told me four different times that they would be here "tomorrow" or put me on the schedule "next week". Then all communication stops. They don't answer calls or text messages. They gave me an installation price of $1500. Since I received a Dunning letter from the manufacturer to charge me for the old inverter that hasn't been returned, I tried to find another company to do the installation. They will be doing it at a cost of $399-649. Bottom line, Solar Going Up is completely unreliable and overcharges!

Let me start by saying I chose this company because they were $5000 cheaper than other quotes. If I…read morewould've known how the experience would have gone I would've paid $10,000 more.... 1. From the beginning, there was lack of communication, No information shared, like when panels would be installed, when permits would be cleared, and when the system was actually turned on, we were left in the dark the whole time. We asked them to let us know when workers would be coming over so that we could put our dogs inside they never told us anytime someone was coming over . On one incident my dogs were let out! Thankfully my neighbors helped get them back in.. 2. I was never told what side of the roof my panels would actually be installed on. I assume they would be on the front of my house because I have a giant oak tree in the back that shades the roof through most of the day. Of course the panels were installed on the back of my house under the shaded oak tree. They told me they would trim the tree. that never happened.. 3. This one is probably the worst one of all. My panels have been on my roof almost 2 years now, the new roof mind you.. that I needed to have before they could install my panels. it leaks every time it's rains. we have contacted Solar Going Up several times they sent one person out a year ago he added caulking around some of the penetrations, but it was obviously not a fix. my roof continues to leak every time it rains And Solar Going Up has not responded and has done nothing about this. I would not recommend this company to anyone considering getting solar

They respond to my questions with 'Larry said he will check on it today.' and 'I just text him that you are asking for an update' but they never follow through. How long does it take to get an update? It's been 1 month since their last message and there's been nothing since. Clearly this company needs to get serious about their customer service. I'm not going to continue chasing after these guys for service. Earlier this year they received several positive reviews, then there's a drop off. Someone recently left a similar review about them earlier this month, so perhaps this company is heading down a bad path. Often times when researching companies, I prefer to start with the negative reviews then move onto the positive ones. The negative reviews at times gives more useful information than a fluffy, positive review would. You can choose to roll the dice with these guys or go with a company that's responsive and true to their words. I've gone with another company.

So charming and nice and easy to reach. What a NICE guy he was. Then the install company did the installation and I received an amendment to sign. The real price is over twice what I was told. And of course I hadn't recorded the entire conversation like I should have. So now I'm stuck paying $200 a month for solar electric when my regular electric bill was only $85. I thought I was doing something good for the planet and pay a few bucks more per month. Instead I was lied to by the sales guy and given the run around by the financing company (GoodLeap) and the install company (Freedom Forever) as they both kept telling me to contact the sales guy to discuss. Of course he ghosted me and now I'm screwed. Do NOT do business with these lying theives.

They then turned us on and a few weeks later, noticed that the system was not working correctly. They came out and did a "fix" and we assumed everything was good. Yesterday we discovered that we are drawing power every day and that our panels are producing next to nothing. When we contracted the monitoring company, they said there was a long standing problem with the converter (with out really explaining what the problem was). We had to reach out to Solar Pros and Rich was rather abrupt with us, telling us throwing out technical terms he did not understand would not fix the problem. Wow. This guy has the company but does not understand the system?!!?!! Dale, a tech reached out this morning to find out if he can come out on Friday to try to fix the problem. I'm just stunned that they made changes but then never checked back to see if the changes worked (we've only been producing .2KW during a day). Evidently, we are responsible for monitoring the system. I too went back and read the paperwork in more depth and regret signing a great deal of it. Buyer beware!

Review Update: After…read moremy initial review, Eric (the sales rep) and Matt (the owner) of Sunline personally reached out to me and was apologetic about the situation. They sent Travis out promptly, who is their electrician where he found that the issue was resolved by replacing a faulty 40-amp breaker that was intermittently providing the necessary voltage, even though measurements initially appear correct. While the breaker issue caused real inconvenience and unexpected costs on my end, the owner was responsive and showed willingness to smooth things over to work toward a resolution. I also want to highlight that the panel upgrade and solar/battery installation itself was clean and well done. The workmanship that Eddie, Manny, Christian and Jamie performed had overall met my expectations, and once the issue was identified, Sunline did step in to correct it. No project is perfect, but how a company responds when problems arise matters a lot. In this case, Sunline's owner and Eric was engaged, responsive, and made a sincere effort to make things right. As an engineer, and after witnessing the symptoms and corrective actions firsthand, I believe the breaker issue was likely a manufacturing defect, and it was unfortunate that it occurred during the holidays. That said, based on how Sunline handled the situation, the overall quality of their work, and the value they offer, I would recommend them and plan to continue using them for future needs.

They are also one of the only installers in San Diego who use Enphase systems (Inverters/Batteries) as well as other top brands. Their roof and solar warranty can't be beaten. Great pricing, great value and great service. These guys do it all! We live in a 5-unit condo with no active HOA, so this brought up some unique challenges, but with the help of Chris Brown in Sales and Carance Wu in Accounting department we were able to be accommodated by allowing us to have separate payments for the 5 units which made things extremely easier for us as separate homeowners with no active HOA. Chris Brown, our main sales/service contact, was always there to answer all our questions about the re-roof and the new solar. He did an excellent job making sure we were well taken care of. He was there every step of the way for both the roofing projects and the solar and helped ensure their success. Erin Steinhardt, Roofing & PV Project Manager, was helpful during our re-roof project. She went above and beyond taking care of our needs. Daniel Chavez did a great job keeping things together as well. The roofing team was very professional, very friendly and they did a great job on the roof. I was very impressed with their skill in removing the damaged Fascia on our eves by removing the gutters, reinstalling the new wood Fascia and reusing the same gutters. Alex Guerra was our main contact solar and was there to answer any questions we had. Onsite, Team leader Henry and his team did an excellent job removing the previous solar and installing the new Enphase / Hyundai solar system. His team was extremely knowledgeable, very professional and very friendly. They answered all my questions and allowed me to be part of the design process from the galvanized steel piping location, quick shutoff switch and the battery location I was able to achieve the best final results possible for my unique situation. If you ever need a re-roof and new solar, Sunline Energy is by far the best.
