This is by far our favorite card store in South Bay (and beyond)! The team here takes pride in their work and customer interactions. I really appreciate that they take the time to talk to the kiddos and really get to know them - as well as try to engage them (even when said kiddo isn't really talking back ha). My husband was born and raised in Torrance. Whenever our kids have Sunday School across the street we drive by, however they're closed on Sunday and Monday. This week we stopped by on Saturday and it was such a nice complete store. If you're a basketball enthusiast you definitely need to stop by. They have memorabilia that was literally at least double online. They have Beck certification too. My son wanted basketball cards for his birthday so he got his box and my husband became a kid in a candy store. His Dad used to bring him to this store so it was a walk down memory lane for him. Amazing sports card shop located in Lomita. Right off of PCH so it's easy to find! Pretty old school shop with all sports (mainly baseball). Divided up nicely into various sections. They have a decent selection of sealed hobby wax and also singles (raw and graded). The most fun are the $1 shoeboxes...I can spend hours in here digging through the dollar bins for cheap singles. Great pricing on supplies too if you need boxes, toploaders, etc. Pricing here is very fair too. With the card hobby making such a bounce back and gaining popularity during the pandemic, it's nice that old school places like SB still exist. Many new "shops" nowadays are just places where they resell exclusively retail products or breaks. Whenever we visit my in-laws in the Southbay, I ALWAYS come here to spend a couple hours! read more

I just went to try shop for a baseball card for my nephew and they weren't open at their posted hours on a Saturday morning. I've been once before and it's a really cool shop to browse in but clearly they have unreliable owners. They had a sign saying they were closed earlier in the week but were supposed to be back already so maybe they decided to not come in? If you like vintage baseball cards, this is the place for you. Huge showcases full of cards going back in time. They also had a big wall of $1 cars boxes that you could spend hours sifting through to find some great bargains. I didn't see a lot of newer cards or unopened boxes, so that was a downside. South Bay Baseball Cards is probably the best card shop in all of Southern California and I'd challenge to say rivals my experiences at Peninsula Sports Cards up in Northern California (Belmont), as being a "fan friendly" retail experience. Scott, his dad and their staff know how to treat customers right. Their prices are fair. Yes, you might be able to save a little buying online, but as card collector's know, every box and pack are in fact different, so if you feel this is your lucky location, it's less about the price and more about the karma. What's nice about the store is that the staff remembers their customers by name and are always cheerful and conversational. They run nice unique specials, including their popular Super Boxes. They have regular customer appreciation raffles with a wide array of prizes. They continually keep a good selection of unopened material, singles, supplies as well as memorabilia. They put the humanity into the hobby. You can't get that buying online or winning an auction on eBay. I always maintain supporting the local retailers (and they're strong supporters of various community groups, so are active contributing members of the neighborhood) and stores like this who earn and deserve the business by doing it right. read more

I love this store. Residing in Torrance, I found this hidden gem of a card shop. Going inside is like a museum of an array of collection from autographs, vintage cards, and modern. It easily can get overwhelming. I always look through Basketball singles and love the staff. Mark is a very friendly personable guy that opens the cases when I want to shift through cards. I love his sense of sense of humor as he sometimes shares his love of old school music and told me about the shop being in the local news! Then there's the owner Ian, as he always greeting you and inviting for any questions. And finally Brian hands down the most knowledgeable about the hobby and his opinion on grading. I'm here from the East Coast and had a place like this back East called America's Pasttime. The baseball card business is a tough one and theres always one or two stores that stand the test of time and have had the good fortune to stumble on a number of old collection. This place had EVERYTHING. Old Jumbo sized basketball cards. Ted Williams tons of them. The old tobacco card that were of the same size as that famous Honus Wagner. Autographed everything. A true living sports collectable museum. Nice area. Clean friendly atmosphere and well trafficked. Made me wish I was 8 years old again. read more

Nothing but attitude, arrogance, ignorance and money hungry owner. Attitude sucks I got ripped off bad. Paid $75 to get an autograph authenticated and guess what it failed which was fine but this cheap old man wouldn't even offer me a letter stating it failed to pass. I needed that to get my money back from the seller. All the ones that passed came with a letter I have had hundreds of things authenticated and any time they fail you get a letter. Time to retire old man you've made a fortune off being fake you can smell the money and thought you'd get me not this time. Hope you close down and people learn to buy things half price online. This whole store is just a sad unhappy depressing mess. read more

A great find that any sports fan will appreciate. I came across this place while searching for an autographed football as a gift for my brother--turned out they had the perfect one, which they even gift wrapped for me. So I made the drive down to Lomita from the Hollywood area. If you're looking for a sports memorabilia gift, something for the man cave, or piece for your office, definitely check them out. Autographed helmets, bats, jerseys, photos, more cards than you could count; the list goes on. If you're a USC fan, be careful. You may end up testing your credit card limit here. Been here 2x and both times treated poorly as a customer. Don't go here if you don't have to. The first trip 2 people worked there. One was a nice guy but after my husband paid for his purchase the other one (older white guy) turned to my mixed race husband, just short of calling him a thief , told him to put his $3 purchase away so he won't be suspected of not paying for them, after the other staff member confirmed we had just made a purchase. 2nd visit i try to get a deck box and they are out so i try to find our when they may have new stock. I ask 2 different staff members standing next to each other. After they tell me they are out of stock i reply with another question. They literally turn away and ignore me. I tell them fine I'll find a new shop because they are rude ..at which point a 3rd staff member proceeded to argue with me about being blatantly ignored. Bad business South Bay Baseball Cards So I'm trying get back into collecting been a decade and I visit my lcs to go hunt for some pc. Went right when they open spend 2 hours just browsing through team boxes I pick out a few LeBron, shaq and some rookie cards. I'm giving them my stack while I decide which I like had about 10-15 cards. About 10-20 dollar cards. I checked eBay comps to see if prices are good most of them are on point except couple LeBron cards that went up probably 30-40 bucks from their original price. I check out at cashier and one worker tells me oh we sold couple of your LeBrons online on their eBay store SBAYVINTAGEANDNEW. I look it up and ask this guy why they're not there on recent sold? He said oh idk how to work that stuff. Another guy comes in says we have thousands of buyer and sold it some buyer from eBay. BS these cards were in team boxes not even on display. Then manager talks saying we have over 20 website they put their cards at listing. I call BS asked for proof of the two cards they took away from my stack. No proof just lies. Are lcs this petty. They don't honor the price they have. Lose customer over few bucks. I'm pretty bummed trying get back into collecting and my lcs is like that. Don't matter if ya been open 100 years. Don't go here. Don't support this type of business. read more
