We have purchased a total of two komatsu wheel loaders from pacific coast iron over the last few years. The first transaction went flawlessly and the machine showed up in great shape. The sales manager Adan was spot on with his evaluation on the machine. A couple years later we purchased the same unit. After about two weeks it started to run some engine codes. They dispatched a tech and found that the engine was failing. Now usually in a position like this I would freak out. Their service guys were prompt, professional, and honest in dealing with the situation. Now I expected them to just take the unit back and refund our money. Which would have been terrible for us since we couldn't find this loader anywhere else on the west coast. Adam the sales manager told us they going to take care of us. They ended up putting in a brand new engine in the machine at a cost to of about $35k. Not to mention they ended up loaning me a unit the entire time it was down. Now that is what I call service! These guys really stood behind their commitment to selling quality used machinery. I am blown away that they actually followed through with all that. All that being said they have a customer for life. You guys are absolutely awesome! read more

Buyers Beware! Our experience with PCI Heavy Equipment and Adam Murray was deeply disappointing. They overpromised and underdelivered at every step of the process. Initially, everything sounded great--Adam assured us the machine would be inspected, ready to go, and that any issues would be taken care of. However, once payment was received, the follow-through completely fell apart. The Komatsu WA320-7 loader we purchased from them was not ready when promised, leading to $1,500 in trucker standby fees. Upon arrival, it was immediately clear that it had not been properly inspected. A further inspection revealed an additional $3,000 in necessary repairs just to make it operable. At the outset, Adam promised to cover all additional costs, but as soon as the problems surfaced, he became unresponsive, refusing to answer calls. PCI Heavy Equipment seems focused on securing payment first and leaving customers to deal with the fallout. If you're considering doing business with them, be extremely cautious. If I could give more stars I would. These guys have really nice well maintained rental equipment. Their rates are fair, the staff is professional, and their service is incredible. I became acquainted with PCI through a backhoe I purchased from them back in 2017. Adam my sales rep called me back every single time and answered all my lengthy questions. The machine showed up exactly the way he described. (I didn't even look at the unit prior to buying) After about a week into running the unit I noticed an oil leak. I called Adam and he had a service tech onsite the next day to fix it. I was very impressed. We started renting quite a few machines from PCI shortly after. All of their equipment is well maintained, clean and modern. If there is a problem they always have someone on the job within 24 hrs. If they cant fix on site they replace the rental immediately. It has been a while since I have seen service like this. If you want great customer service and to feel like your business actually matters I would highly recommend PCI. I actually found out about this place from going to the Placerville dump facility as they are right next door. I decided to give them a shot and rented a mini x from them. I usually rent from all star rents but their machines are typically beat up. From what I can see these guys mean business when it comes to nice equipment. Of course I lucked out with an almost brand new machine. Their rates are actually lower than all star too. The transaction went super easy and the entire staff was extremely friendly and professional. Although I was just renting a machine for a small project I was treated the same exact way as the guy who was in the process of loading up a huge dozer right next to me. During the rental I sent a few emails over the weekend about some settings I had questions about. Unexpectedly the rental manager emailed me right back and even called to make sure I figured it out. PCI went above and beyond by taking care of me during a problematic purchase. They truly made me feel valued and part of the family. I 100% recommend making all your heavy equipment purchases, service, and rentals through PCI. I purchased a 2009 Takeuchi excavator in October 2022 and immediately ran into issues with transport and delivery, all of which were completely out of PCI's control. Adam Murray and his team from PCI went above and beyond, keeping me updated every step of the way, and even provided me a loaner so I could work on projects around my property while I waited for delivery. When I received my excavator, PCI made me feel valued and part of the family by taking time to address a few wear and tear issues. They had to order a few parts, but when they came in they were able to send a technician out to my house to install them. We own a small General Engineering business in Northern California. We rent the majority of our equipment because it is so expensive to own. We recently were referred to PCI from a local friend in the construction field. Our rental manager Adam was awesome! His industry knowledge vastly exceeded most of the other rental reps we have dealt with in the industry. He was very professional and prompt on returning phone calls. Pacific Coast Irons fleet of equipment was exceptionally well maintained. This probably was our luck but almost every unit we rented from them was almost new! Their service technicians were also really easy to deal with. The office staff was pleasant and professional. All of the employees really seem to enjoy working there. I work for Hemington Landscape. We just recently discovered pacific coast iron in placerville. We had no idea that there was an equipment dealership right in our backyard. We got a quote on 6 used machines from the sales manager adam. He got us all the information we requested quickly and he had a bunch of suggestions that we didn't even think of. Although we ended up buying brand new, We were very impressed by the knowledge and experience of everyone that worked here. Everyone seems very pleasant and happy as well which says a lot about the ownership. We ended opening a rental account with them. We also ordered some parts which showed up in two days! I have no idea how anyone would every give these guys a bad review. Awesome people! Super knowledgeable and problem solvers. We have purchased 3 machines from PCI and every unit was in great shape and freshly serviced. The sales manager Adam made us feel very comfortable despite not being able to view the equipment in person. Everything we have rented from PCI was extremely nice and modern. We mostly do gas station maintenance work so being prompt during an emergency call is essential for us. PCI always made sure to deliver our rentals in accordance with our schedule. They also super understanding even though we didn't pay our rentals bills on time every month. More than I can say for the big rental companies! My Husband just got his contractors license and got tired of spending a ton of money on rentals. I found Pacific Coast Iron on Craigslist. I called and immediately got through to Adam in sales. I picked his brain on possible financing options, different models, attachments, etc. He had a straight answer for everything. The greatest part is he didn't try to get me to spend more money on something we didn't need. I ended up deciding on a Deere skid steer. PCI went through and serviced everything and delivered the unit for free. I had a bunch more questions even after the sale and adam always got back to me right away. I just want to leave a review for PCI because quite honestly working with them is like working with a extension of my own team. I own a fairly large commercial dairy farm and while we have our own equipment we don't have it all. That's where PCI comes in. No matter what time of day it is, someone always gets back with me in a timely manner. PCIs team is exceptional and actually care about their customers. I also would like to mention their service manager in particular, Cecil is great! Anytime a rental goes down he has a tech out that same day. Rental support is huge in our agricultural operation. Anyone that has been in Constructon for as long as I have will appreciate businesses like Pacific Coast Iron. These guys jump through hoops for their customers. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I was recommended to use PCI by a friend when I was in search of a backhoe. We needed machine for a storm drainage project. I was put in contact with Adam the rental manager. He didn't try to sell me on larger unit that I didn't need. We actually ended up renting a smaller unit that worked out great and saved us money. Even when their first are billing discrepancies their AR staff is always friendly and easy to work with.
