We were a good sized group around 10-11 people and we shared a variety of different dishes. I thought the trotters were outstanding if that's something that you like. I'd had my eye on this awhile but don't get over here much anymore. Saw it when it was lunchtime, swung by. Little place in a little stripmall. Lots of pictures on the outside. Inside, small but bright and cozy. Fairly straightforward menu, only a few mild surprises. Perhaps there is an "authentic" menu as well? Anyway, I got my standard comparison item, Mongolian beef. Lunch special, so that, plus fried rice and soup. I chose egg drop. The soup was pretty good. Hard to mess up, but it was full of egg, and very rich. The fried rice was pretty mundane. There were a ton of white onions for the entree, and a decent amount of green, plus enough meat that I can't complain. Tender, flavorful, not overly sweet or overly salty as some versions are. I ordered dinner this week, and got the Singapore Noodles and spicy wings. I noticed they have since reopened the dining room area and it is no longer just to go orders. My previous experiences here have been pretty good to great. This visit was more along average. My noodles had a lot of curry powder and i had to add water to my dish to make it palatable. If you're looking for orange chicken or general tso pork that you would normally get at your local corner Chinese take-out place, please do me a favor and DO NOT COME HERE. I had the pleasure of meeting Russ, whom I'm told by my friend who took me is the go-to guy to get daily recommendations. He also hinted that he may or may not speak best English so that always helps.. To be fair, he was the only one in the hall the day I went so it's not like I can compare.. ;-) I'm told there are two menus. For obvious reasons, I got the "better" menu, which even for me, someone who spends a decent amount of time studying every menu possible, there were a lot of items that sounded unfamiliar. That may be because I don't read Chinese 100%, and the English translations didn't quite connect the dots for me. There's a good chance that I'm perfectly familiar with listed cuisines but just didn't recognize them. Nonetheless, we went ahead and asked Russ to recommend three dishes between the three of us. My friends are frequent visitors, so he made sure that he didn't recommend anything they'd had in their past few visits. Spicy aorta dish and the Shiitake mushroom green dish were the two he recommended, and I had my eyes set on Spicy Hunan pork. Aorta dish was the one that worried my friends a bit, but it turned out to be possibly the best dish of the three, not that the other two were bad. Shiitake green dish was very similar to the usual Chinese broccoli dish I often get at other places, but with VERY NICE addition of shiitake mushrooms. Cooked to perfection, of course. The Hunan pork dish was as great as they come, the only regret being they don't serve the dish with steamed buns as some very selective restaurants do. (Russ also agreed that they should start serving steamed bun) But the spicy aorta dish was the one that had the most complex combination of sauce. I couldn't get over how many different flavors I could taste, but how they all come together to make a perfectly balanced sauce. With such strong seasons like mala, garlic, cilantro, chili peppers, black peppers, etc. etc. it was amazing to see it come together so well. Aorta, if you've never had it, is an interesting protein with very interesting texture for your chewing sensation. Medium softness--sort of like al dente pasta--where you have to bite into the semi-soft surface to get to the meaty chewiness. I can see it being a hit or a miss depending on how familiar or open minded you are about these types of texture. For me, it was super delicious. Did an order kind of late. It was 8:00. They are open until 9:00. Everything was fine with the ordering process. Nice delivery person. The bag felt light but I didn't really think anything of it after my first observation. Took my food to the kitchen. Opened the bag. 2 bowls. 2 egg rolls. No fried rice. I thought it might already be in the bowl. No !! Beef and broccoli with no rice. Hunan shrimp with no fried rice. I called they said it was to later to deliver. Gave me $4 back. Door dash called and said no $4 because we weren't charged for it anyway it was part of the meal that just didn't make it to us. Who do I blame.? read more

Place remodeled, looks better. Food a half grade better as had gotten very bad 2y ago, up from C+ to B- now. Service today was horrible... on a TAKEOUT order. Surly guy took my order, did not ask for name or number as 100 percent always happened prior 200 orders. Then I show up and he asks name/number. I politely told him he had not asked for it but as only 1 to go order on counter, probably me. Went to pay and his checkout system tried to force a TIP on my bill. Is a carry out order, he is an owner/family so price the to go food however you need but then don't try a 20% scalp. He said "no tip!?" As I exited. I tip sit down at 20% if poor service, 30-50% if good to great ..he'll, I tip 30%+ on pizza delivery even tho has delivery fee. If I could give this restaurant a 11/10 I would! I will never forget this meal, it was some of the best food I have ever had! I love different kinds of food, but chinese food has always been my favorite. This place serves Americanized dishes and as well as traditional dishes. I went when my sister and we wanted to try this place out. We went with the traditional menu, it has english on it. We got the pork belly with pepper stir fry, beef and celery stir fry and garlic chinese water spinach( I think that is what it is called). I love everything we ate, both beef dishes were spicy but flavorful ( not too spicy it was perfect). I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THE EXPERIENCE. The service was amazing, the food came out in like than 10 minutes and they were so kind. I had so much fun and I ate so much food! You should give this place a try. I never leave reviews but I have to note the place has new owners and though they kept the same Chinese-American menu in name all the items taste vastly different for the worse. After tasting the hot and sour soup i get a distinct taste of dishwater so ive had to move this from two stars to one. The potstickers are sad. The pork in the kung pao pork is inedible. Gotta toss this and order something else. Really disappointing. Lucky to have a Mandarin speaking friend who was able to request the non-Americanized menu. Splurged and got spicy beef tongue, sweet and sour pork, stinky tofu, and a-choy. Both meat dishes were some of my favorites I've had in this city. Could tell the stinky tofu was a good quality, but will need to have again before it is in my taste. Personally, I did not care for the food. Keep in mind I prefer authentic to Americanized Chinese food. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't good either. It was meh. In the photo is Empress Chicken (basically general Tao's but with veggies). They loaded this bowl up. Felt like 5 pounds of food. The chicken was breaded and fried but was soggy due to them filling it with a sweet and subtle spicy sauce to the brim of the bowl. So if quantity over quality is what you want. Get this. My partner got the terriyaki chicken and he did not like it. Said it was too sweet. The service is good. Very friendly and quick. Overall, I don't think I would order it again. I love Pacific Eatery. The only reason I don't eat there more often is that I moved. The peanut noodles are fantastic - cool with a bit of backheat from the creamy peanut sauce. Recommend! The wings are really good as well! They are fried and have some sliced jalapeno tossed on after cooking that adds just a bit of heat. Went to this place for the first time Saturday night with friends and family. My wife and I along with this other couple were both badly disappointed when YT Chinese cuisine closed as it had uniquely authentic Chinese food one doesn't find at 90 plus percent of other restaurants with the standard menu of General tso's, beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, etc etc. However, Pacific Eatery is every bit as good if not better, and their menu is even more eclectic. But for what it's worth, they do serve more traditional Chinese and Asian dishes, and they do them really well! I had a taste of my son's pad thai, and I think it was the best I've ever had. The food was all around delicious, the service good despite the business being absolutely hopping, and the prices not unreasonable. Definitely worth going to if you want something off the beaten path, or just want standard Chinese food which is nevertheless better tasting than most other restaurants making the same dishes. The server was excellent! The food was absolutely horrible. I ordered Kung Pao Chicken, and my husband ordered crispy orange chicken. Mine had a "flat" favor. It was 85% water chestnuts, 10%chicken and 5% peanuts. Every bite of chicken had tough tendons. I brought it to the server's attention, and she said she would show the chef. My husband's dish was not crispy and had hardly any orange. I have never seen this dish breaded so heavily, the server returned it and ask them to crisp it up. Biggest waste of $50 ever! I never thought much of Pacific Eatery because it looked like a crapshack. It had some good reviews so it was given a chance. The food I had was not that much better. It needed a lot more flavor. They are never that busy inside and it's easy to see why. I ordered the salt baked tofu. It came with crispy sliced jalapenos and onions on top of tofu with no sauce. That was odd to me because I did not think jalapenos were Chinese ingredients. It was way too salty. Tofu was bone dry and onions were burnt to a crisp. At lunch it's about $7 and dinner it's about $10. There is alcohol including imported beers like Sapporo and Tsing Tao. It also has an authentic menu including home style tofu and yu hsiang eggplant which are about $10. These are much better and you should order off this menu. I would choose another Chinese place before this. It's not worth it for the price. The service was slow and it wasn't even busy then. read more
