This morning I heard a snap while opening our garage door, it opened and closes but I saw cables hanging on the sides. Our garage door when we lived in Arizona 3 years ago no longer opened using a remote control. I researched the situation and discovered it usually is a bad logic board. I bought a new logic board, replaced the old one, and the opener worked fine again. It took me 3+ hours to do so, mainly because I had never did this before. The same thing happened recently after moving back to our home in Henderson. I checked Yelp reviews and decided to call Pacific Experts on a Friday afternoon. They said they could come out that afternoon, but we were busy so I asked them to do a service call Saturday morning. Alix showed up on time and was very professional but also quite friendly. He evaluated the situation and said we needed a new opener and recommended one made by Chamberlain. I asked if they instead could install a new logic board in the old unit. He called his boss to ask if they would do so, but also mentioned they normally didn't do do with the Craftsman opener that we had. That surprised me since Chamberlain also makes the Craftsman openers. After talking with his boss, Alix said they don't replace logic boards in Craftsman openers. So I asked what the price would be for a new basic Chamberlain opener. The price quoted was somewhat higher than I expected, which currently seems to be par for everything! Alix did call his boss again to see if there was anything they could do regarding the price, which I appreciated. I was happy Pacific Experts were able to come over so quickly. Alix, the installer, was very impressive. He lubricated both doors' springs and rollers and explained everything he was doing. He forgot to do a couple of minor things initially, but when I called the company, they had Alix come over in a couple of hours to fix everything. Alix continuously asked if I had any questions. The new opener is nice. It makes less noise. This is a professional company that knows how to market, but they are not pushy and we felt we made a good choice of company and opener. (as I learned was his nickname) He was the first to respond to my broken spring problem as I couldn't get into the garage and he was going to send someone that night (730pm on a long Weekend Saturday night?!?) for just a $65 charge plus doing what needed to be done or, if I was SAFE (he wanted to make sure we were ok!) he would send one of his technicians out in the morning (Sunday - Clocks Falling back) and evaluate and fix our problem at that time for regular cost. We were safe and made an appointment for the time frame of 8-10am. They work 7 days a week! (Wait.... You mean, problems don't just happen between 8-4, M-F? This is just ONE of the reasons "Mark" will have continued success! He will get the customers in dire need and not charge them exorbitant extra prices - those customers will return for future needs rather than charging a lot for a one time visit or being closed on a weekend. You don't get anywhere in life just working the regular 9-5, or 8 hours; that leaves 16 other hours in the day! And his business works 7 days a week; "Mark"and his team are their for you. But that from what he could see, even though I inherited this home a few years ago, with the new spring and wheels that he installed with a guarantee of 3 years, I was good to go for awhile. But if I feel uncomfortable/concerned/have a question, I can call and they will come out right away, evaluate, fix or do what needs to be done.
