Called them to replace a broken spring. They came out earlier than the scheduled time slot, which was fine by me. Tavis was great at explaining everything and extremely knowledgeable. I called them because the garage door was making a loud noise when it opened, and about an hour later a serviceman showed up. The door was full of squeaks and rattles, but the noise was gone. He checked everything over and soon discovered the source of a second problem the door had developed, e.g. opening by itself shortly after closing. He took care of that problem quickly and gave the individual wheels a good oiling. Checked the overhead light to be sure it worked properly. Gave me a bill for $99 and advised a six month maintenance program. Door is now quiet and smooth and is content to stay closed after the car is parked. Will definitely call again in February when next maintenance is due. I'd say five stars. read more

I gave K&B 5 stars because the technician (Travis) came to my home the morning I called and repaired my garage door so that I am able to (manually) open the garage door and close it until the new door opener and remote come in. The cables had bunched up off the rollers. He didn't take very long to fix that. I requested estimates from 3 other garage door companies who didn't respond at all, and one who called and left a message 3 days later. So, I Am Very Happy to be able to get my car in and out of my garage. After the garage door is fully repaired I will update my review. read more

Garage door spring broke. Called the company who originally installed it. Got their info from the sticker placed on the inside of the door. It was the weekend, call went to voicemail. Instead of requesting emergency weekend service I set up an appointment via the company's website. Couldn't have been easier. Selected the earliest Monday morning appointment, 8:30. At 8:00 am. Monday phone rings, technician is on his way. Technician arrives, Chad if I remember correctly. Super friendly and professional. Fixed door quickly and checked operation of motor, lubricated chain. Door works great and is quieter than it's ever been. Side note: Chad comments on how hot the door is (east facing). He tells me I can install insulation panels that will make a big difference. That becomes the days project for me. The difference in temperature in the garage is astonishing. I can only assume that the energy needed to cool the adjacent parts of the house has been great reduced. Thanks, Chad! read more

Boy things have changed so I'm writing this review because I had scheduled to have a garage door motor replaced on my rental property and called to have them rescheduled The installation . This is the company that originally installed my garage door when my house was built. They must've had the contract with American West Homes (at least at the time my house was built in 2013). Our door made some horrible noises and the top panel cracked. My husband called K and B and they didn't want to come out and see what was wrong. They just wanted to replace the panel for $499. We decided to look around for someone else. I told my husband just to call back, and have them do the panel and find out why it cracked in the first place. He was quoted $449 plus $230ish because there are windows in the top panel. My husband told them that there were windows the first time he called. But now they want more money. Then the lady tried to upsell us in a new door for $1200 and change. Mind you, we still don't know what was wrong in the first place. So my husband hung up with them. We don't want to be taken advantage of. And have the same BS happen with another door. The way it was installed was a stupid design in the first place. We called American Veterans Garage Door and they came out. They Replaced the spring and spring mechanism. Reinforced the door where it cracked with a brace. The door works better than it ever did since original installation. All for less than what K and B quoted on the phone with not wanting to send anyone out. Imagine if K and B came out and replaced the top panel for $750-800 and then charged us for the spring and all that business? They wanted to fix something over the phone. And it wasn't even the root of the problem. Outrageous. read more

I have used K&B several times for 20 years in two different homes and have always been pleased with their professionalism. Recently I had a problem with a garage door and made the mistake of using a different company based on a recommendation from an acquaintance. Big mistake. The other company told me I needed a new spring and they quoted $500.00. I declined and called K&B. They set up the appointment, arrived exactly on time and after checking the door and servicing it, Travis moved a bracket on the spring. The door worked perfectly. All for $400.00 less. I went here when my garage door opener wasn't working well. I suspected it was the battery but I couldn't get the *$!@%^)& remote open. Went here and after a short struggle the counter lady got it open and - sure enough - it just needed a new battery. When another lady came out we all got into a conversation about how to open garage doors when the power goes out and I was given a tutorial using the showroom display. This company installed my garage doors when my house was built. I called for service and made an appointment. I assumed it was under warranty because it's only 5 years old and the lady on the phone never said anything about fees. The guys come by today and replace the spring. They don't say anything about how much it's gonna cost. They just swap it out and hand me a bill for $411. The labor alone is $182.62 and they were at my house exactly 30 minutes. So I ask him what they charge an hour for labor like $365.00??? He says no I wish and leaves. So I call the office to see what the labor rate is and she says that they don't cHarge by the hour it is a flat rate. I told her that's not cool. Because they never said anything about price at all and now I am paying $365.24/hour. I think that's pretty ridiculous. read more

Always top notch work. They installed the original door in 2006. I had them out once to replace the springs and recently to replace the complete door opener. I used another company, "Precision Garage Door" once when k&b was booked solid for a couple of days and I had to have Precision out 3 times for a spring replacement they botched and even tried to charge me for the additional service calls to fix shoddy workmanship. This review is for the office lady only. I called and asked for a type of spring and she asked me to email a picture of the model number. I did and got no response. I went to there office and the lady was nothing but rude and said she can't help me unless I bring the springs in. My garage door opener made a lot of noise but would not open the door. Javier arrived during the appointed time-window. He quickly determined the gear sprocket was worn out . He showed me the sprocket and the replacement part. After 15 years, it was pretty well chewed up. He replaced the sprocket and was gone in a very short period of time. We were leaving our house around 11:45 am Friday morning when suddenly the garage door wouldn't close completely. Upon inspection, I saw the chain was off the sprocket and hanging limply on the door. Not wanting to fool around with an electrical device, I figured it best to call a professional company in. There was a K&B Garage Door Company sticker attached to the garage door, so after doing a little Yelp research, I called them and explained our dilemma. The girl on the phone said that they schedule by zip code and could probably get to our job on Monday, but I said I absolutely needed to get the door fixed today since we were leaving the house later for the evening and didn't want to leave the garage door open. She put me on hold for a minute, then came back on and said a crew could be there between 12:00-3:30 pm--perfect! About 1:15 pm, Chuck and Carson came over and said the chain drive needed to be repaired, but noting the age of the unit (11 years), Chuck suggested replacing the unit, and we agreed with his assessment. He suggested a belt drive unit instead of a chain driven one which would cost about $85 more, but would have the advantages of running smoother and quieter, could operate the door through a phone app, and offered a lifetime warranty instead of only a 4-year one--excellent! So we asked how long would it take to install the new unit and they said about 90 minutes, which would allow us time to get ready and go out. It took them barely over an hour to install the unit and clean up, and after that Chuck patiently explained how the remotes and wall switch worked and answered all our questions. Chuck and Carson were friendly, very thorough and professional--thanks, guys! And thank you to the girl in the office for expediting our job (sorry, I didn't write down your name!)--most appreciated! Solid company that I will call again for future work--no wonder they have been in business over 35 years! read more

I've called this company based on the great reviews on the internet, they gave me 4 hours windows, and somebody was waiting at the house for over 4 hours, the tech finally showed up, and he was not interested to repair at all and suggested to replace the door and another part for over $1100, actually all I need was a repair job, I communicated the problem with their customer service and they still charge me the service call, just be careful with this company. read more

Emailed another company for a Quote and they said expect a 48 Hr response (on a Tuesday), then called K & B Doors and they respond based on Zip Code and they Serviced my door the same day. This was excellent since the Garage Spring broke in two and I was unable to open the door to get my car out. Over 72 Hrs now and the First Company has still not responded. At K & B Doors - Ryan - came out on schedule (a little earlier really) and had the Spring Replaced, serviced both my doors and was finished in 30 Minutes.
