So immediately I scheduled a service and she was able to fit my house in that same week. The deep clean service was for 3 hours with two cleaners for my four bedroom home. The ladies came through and cleaned my home while my husband was home and I was at work. They cleaned my kitchen, my 2 bathrooms, floors and living room. The kids rooms nor my master bedroom were serviced. To be fair, my husband did ask them not to service my children's room because he felt bad that it was too messy. The communication got a bit lost between the cleaners and my husband. After reaching out to Gracie to get clarification on what is included in a deep clean, we realized that some things were missed (baseboards, shelves in restrooms, window tracks, light fixtures, master bedroom, vents and kitchen sink). After that realization, Gracie was quick to send a cleaning lady back the following morning to ensure the master bedroom and missed spaces got cleaned. I appreciated her prompt response to remedy the situation. Ericka, the lady who cleaned my home went above and beyond the next day. She even cleaned my kids' floors. The four star review is based on lack of clarification on the invoice. I was originally quoted 250 plus a 25 dollar discount. When I received the invoice, it said 300 dollars for a deep clean minus a 50 dollar "company comp". When I inquired about this, I was left on read. I proceeded to pay the 250 with a tip. Again, I did like her original prompt response to remedy the situation when some areas were not cleaned and that is driving my decision to give them another try for a regular cleaning. I also feel that their price is fair for what they offer.

For a 1500 square foot house, to clean the master bedroom only, 2-1/2 baths & downstairs living area and kitchen they charged approximately $100. Decent enough if the work was competent. I would "think" it would take a maximum of three hours for one person, less time with two workers. My husband (who works from home) called Magic Maids to service the house the same day, so I did not get to meet the employee. However, the cleaner (from my husband's recollection- a young college girl) spent NEARLY SIX HOURS TO RUIN OUR HOUSE - approx. 11-5pm. He had to kick her out so he could pick up my son from day care! Here is what I came home to: * Our living room hardwood was FULL of waxy film, which my husband slipped on. * Bathrooms sinks & toilets were the only areas cleaned * Both showers and tubs - dirty as before. I know because the rings around my son's tub were still there. * None of the trash in 5 areas were emptied * Our kitchen metal backsplash has visible SCRATCHES from an ABRASIVE (ie. cleanser, sponge??) and needs to be buffed out. My husband only noticed this AFTER the cleaner left. One can tell she starts to polish it, then stopped as soon as the scratches appeared. She never mentioned this to my husband. Magic Maid also claims "Our eco-friendly approach is the safest, most responsible method of service available and includes the use of environmentally sensitive technology and highly effective non-toxic products." When I called John to deal with my dissatisfaction, and asked what the cleansers used, he said "Comet". COMET??? What is environmentally sensitive about that? Is that what scratched up our custom backsplash and messed up our floor??!! The smell from whatever other cleaner she used was so strong my husband had to open the windows in 80+ weather, although we had the air conditioner going. We essentially handed someone $100 to make more work for ourselves. My husband ultimately ended up cleaning the entire floor by himself the following day. Although John seemed willing to correct the problem, our family wanted to be able to enjoy our weekend without having to stay at home to make sure someone was doing the job correctly, a second time! I don't know what Del Mar or La Jolla homes this company is servicing, but here in Eastlake we will not be calling upon them again.

He quoted me a total price of $250 for cleaning the house and the inside of the windows and the blinds. They left a long black mark on the carpet under the window in the master bedroom, they severely scratched the inside of the toilet bowl in the master bathroom, they scratched off parts of the white enamel on the stove top under the display panel and while the inside of the oven looked better than it did before they cleaned it, it was by no means as clean as it was when we moved in, and they left white cleaner residue on the area of the burner where the flame comes out. When we called to say something about it, Dean immediately got defensive, denied everything, and said that he has NEVER had a complaint in his 15 years of doing this. The baseboards were filthy, there were still cobwebs in the corners, the stove top looked better 2 weeks ago when I cleaned it before moving out, the blinds that I was charged an extra $100 to clean were still dusty. Even the carpet cleaning company that we hired commented on what a lousy job the company we hired to do a move out clean did. The landlord who came to do a pre-move out inspection even pointed things out that were blatantly obvious yet not done by the cleaning service. There was a sizeable area on one of the floor tiles in the bathroom that didn't get cleaned. I easily wiped it up with a damp paper towel, so I know it's not because it was stained or too hard to get up; it was missed, plain and simple. When I tried to get his business name he said he has multiple. When I asked for his tax ID # he asked for my address of employment. He hung up on me multiple times and has flat out refused to come to the house but has threatened that someone will be at my place of business on Monday. If you decide to go with this company, make sure to have your white gloves handy because if you don't do a thorough inspection before they leave, he won't take responsibility for it or come back and fix it.
