They informed us that the dog had multiple applicants, and that the adoption fee might decrease over time if interest remained low. We scheduled a meetup near a Petco in Hawthorne. They arrived a bit late in a large white van with multiple dogs in crates--some appeared anxious. The process felt a little hectic since other adopters were scheduled around the same time. The adoption fee was on the higher side and included vaccinations and spay/neuter services. However, our dog was too young to be fully vaccinated or neutered, so we had to schedule those appointments later. Unfortunately, we later learned--through a professional groomer--that the dog we adopted was not a poodle as advertised, but a labradoodle.

DO NOT USE THIS "foundation" if you care about the wellness of doggies out there especially with this cruel pandemic going on. She ended up texting an employee and every reply said we needed to send $150 to lock down the dog. All my wife wanted to do is ask a couple of questions. She then showed me what was happening and I told her to text our phone number to this lady so I could ask a couple of questions. After three long winded replies, every one mentioning the money, I told my wife to forget it. In the time this lady took to reply on text message, she could have called and answered our two questions. This rescue is all about the money ONLY! I know I have thanked you before for providing us with Bentley ( kennel name Red Baron) sadly last month he passed away after giving the honor of being him Mom and Dad for over 12 years. Red Baron was underweight with a hematoma on his tummy and thin wiry hair he was scared of men and rolled on his back or tried to hide when approached. Lots of love and care gave him the most beautiful thick wavy coat he filled out and we would get stopped all the time by people remarking 'what a handsome dog' ( so handsome we had DNA done he was yorkie cocker and pointer!) he never did anything wrong he came house-trained, he didn't lick or jump or beg only barked when someone was at the door and was gentle and calm, his best friend was the cat next door. I was reading the reviews on Perfect Pet Rescue and I had to add my two cents. I adopted an…read moreadorable 3.5lb chihuahua I named Peanut from Nancy back in 2005. They were upfront about the fact he had seizures and because he was older there was no way to know if he had epilepsy (you can find this out when they are puppies apparently) or if it was caused by something else. He also had a heart condition that could literally take him at any time. I think they were afraid I wouldn't adopt him with that kind of information but I'm not one of those people that will only adopt a "perfect dog". He was adorable and had such a gentle disposition that I fell in love immediately. When I met him he was at the animal hospital on Venice and they had little info on his previous life except to say he was found running on the 60 freeway. The rescue graciously said they would pay for any medication for his seizures and a few other things but I refused because they had done their part and I wanted them to put their money to other dogs in need. I committed to care for Peanut for the rest of his life, whatever that looked like. Many more health problems arose like skin cancer that required very delicate lifesaving surgery, neurological problems and the seizures got worse till medication was definitely required. (seizures were rare when I got him) Peanut lived to the ripe old age of 18 despite his health issues. I am so grateful for Perfect Pet and the fact they rescued an older dog with health issues that most would just put down. Peanut was such a gift and I was so lucky to be able to give him a comfortable, loving home till his final day. I only have one request for people wanting to adopt, please take a look at the older dogs, they are such loving creatures and its not fair they are overlooked because of their advanced age. When you are elderly I'm sure you'd want a loving place to be instead of being tossed away. In memory of Peanut. :)

I was told that Jax wasn't a good idea for my 10 year old dog that I have. How would Tamera know what is good for my dog. I don't think Tamera is interested in finding Jax a home. Then was told he was in Las Vegas. O.k. why is dachshund rescue of Los Angeles have dogs in Utah, Las Vegas and elsewhere? Wasn't available to meet Jax to even see him. I feel her dogs are not getting homes. 3 of the same dogs are still there a year later. Why?

Nope... because he was better suited with someone who had access to a yard which I admittedly didn't have at the time. Now I have a pair of seniors who are perfect in an apartment and absolutely the sweetest pair ever. The organization is a non profit. All volunteers give their time. Popular dogs can end up with 40+ applications. So you'll never be able to please everyone. But this team is amazing and they care so much about helping animals, so for me it helped heal my heart to get involved since I lost my original dachshund at 16 a few years back. However, after I requested specific details regarding the surgery and the pickup arrangements, I was informed that the foster arrangement had been abruptly revoked.
