I really like this market, they have just about everything I need. They carry a decent amount of organic produce just enough to get by. The meet selection is great the butchers know their stuff. I love this market! The staff is friendly and very helpful. The meat and deli department is my favorite part of Pacific Ranch. They recently added a sushi section! Sushi master, David, makes fresh restaurant quality sushi and rolls daily.....sooooo good! Prime cuts of beef! What a great little market! They have a great selection of dips (artichoke dip is mighty yummy), meats already prepared (we enjoyed the Carne Asada), the ground turkey is fresh and no pink slime in it - like some other markets. The prices are a lil bit higher, but you can't beat the quality of the meat, deli, and specialty items. They have a variety of various wines for the wine afficiando. The workers are extremely helpful with any questions or concerns you may have. We have purchased everything from Prime Rib to Seafood and everything was always of the utmost top quality you would expect from a store such as this. I think you need to review a place for what it is, enough for what you wish it were. I found the market a lot like a Whole Foods but without much of an organic selection. My guess is that they've chosen not to compete with Whole Foods. Their fresh seafoodis quite good, although it's small. Their meat section is pretty extensive, and includes some prepped foods like cane asada, already marinated. Melon fresh selections include some unusual brands, as well as standards. Prices for things like cereal, rice, and other packaged items were about what you'd find at Vons, with perhaps if you fewer savings opportunities. Califia Almond milk was substantially more expensive, at $6.29 per bottle compared to $4.29 per bottle at Fresh'n'Easy. There is a good cheese selection, fairly extensive with unusual varieties as well as Boars Head. . I particularly appreciated the tasting notes. read more

The best neighborhood market in Orange! The fresh meats and fish are premium grade and always fresh. It's difficult to find quality prime cuts of beef in Orange County. Pacific Ranch has a huge selection and everything is priced right. The produce and other departments are just as impressive. I often swing by for a quick lunch- deli sandwich or sushi. I have been going to this store for over 20 years. I purchased $60+ worth of groceries used coupons for 2 items yet when I gave the checkout lady the additional coupon to take $10 off my purchase she refused. She said I hadn't spent that amount. I was a bit taken aback by how rude she was and how she obviously didn't know how to tally the bill properly. She turned her back on me and proceeded to drink her coffee totally ignoring me. I guess Pacific Ranch Market puts up with an employee that should be counseled. If she does this to me she does it to others. Won't be back. read more

I've always liked Pacific Ranch Market, but I have to say in about the last year there have been very positive changes especially in the deli department. Their fresh vegetable salads are amazing! They have great meats and fish. Their management is deplorable!! I had a hike planned ay 815am and a brunch at 1030am. The fishmonger told me to pick up the wild salmon I ordered at 730am. My plan was to cook it by 815am and microwave it when we return from the hike. I show up at 730am and the manager tells me they are closed. Open at 8am. I tell him my predicament and tight timeline. Does he help me? No! Does he apologize? No! When I get upset, he lets his ego get in the way and gets defensive instead of helping me I am not upset about the mistake over the hours of operation - mistakes happen. It is deplorable that the manager of the store did nothing to facilitate a resolution to the problem his store created for me, the customer. I have spent so much money at their meat and fish counter. This once fabulous market, recently changed management and things have suffered. Although it looks cleaner and more open, the produce has gone down hill and they recently fired the best employee in the store who happened to work in the meat department. If making money is more important to you than having a knowledgeable and friendly employee, then you did the right thing. Brian was a HUGE asset to this store and one of the reasons I didn't mind paying extra to drive to shop here. Yes, you can replace him with someone who makes less money but they don't know how to trim a steak the way I want it. If I wanted smaller apples with bruises I can go to my local food chain market and get them. The people who work here are the reasons I shopped at Pacific Market - I will undoubtably shop someplace else now. Two of my favorite people have been let go - the owner made a big mistake. Two weeks ago I went to the Pacific Ranch Market to buy a steak. According to the person working the counter the steaks in the display case were grass fed and hormone free. I bought one and it was absolutely delicious. I returned today to buy another and when I asked to reconfirm what I was told during my last visit I was told the steaks in the display were neither of those things. I was directed to another cabinet where the grass fed and hormone free steaks were located. These steaks were cryovac packed with dates showing when they were packed and a sell by date. I found $50/lb filets that had excessive blood pooled in the bottom and pricey New Yorks that were 12 days beyond their sell by date. I find it hard to believe that no one on the staff saw these dates over the past twelve days. Perhaps the steaks would have been just fine, but you have to wonder why the packer had the sell by date if it didn't matter. At minimum the market should have lowered the price and made shoppers aware. I know had I purchased them and then discovered the dates just prior to cooking my dinner I would have been disappointed. We all know the Pacific Ranch Market is expensive, which is okay, but we should be able to expect outstanding quality for the premium. read more

An excellent independent grocery store. They have a great deli, with an excellent bread selection. Its the only place i can find squaw bread. The also have a most impressive liquor selection. The bakery is ok. The florist is very nice. They specialize in local produce and they have special and boutique items that i cannot find anyplace else. The best bacon ever! Hungarian imported possibly without all the issues we have with commercially USA feedlots. Try their bacon. I promise you will love it. I have been going to PRM since it first opened which has been more than 20 years and loved it! I love it even more know. It has been totally redone and it is absolutely amazing. You can find anything you can possible want. It is so beautiful, moved things around, hundreds of new products and the salad bar is know at the front of the store with 3 times as many things to pick from. I love the fact that you can ask any department manager to do a special order that may be unusual and they are so happy to do it. I love the home made dinners that are packaged up to take home with so much variety it is hard to pick. I have always felt that the employee's were all my new best friends.
