Today when I went to La Michoacana and it super crowded, it was incredible to see the line so long and slow... the person I've known since they opened the ice cream store was super rushed and the other one, it looks like she had no idea how things work there, I don't know if they changed owners or simply the owner wants to save $$ in hiring more personnel. This place is affordable, fun and novel. Been here MANY times over the years and it's my favorite. The aguas frescas are delicious, rotating in flavors from time to time. The ice creams (coco flavor!) are delicious and fresh. They sell popsicles too. A single scoop ($3-$3.50) is PLENTY. They are generous with scoops unlike other ice cream chains that rip you off. The mangonadas with their mango ice cream are delicious! I used to get them elsewhere, but they are the best here and aren't watery like some other places. They taste so good with chamoy and diced mango on top. Their paletas (popsicles) are also very delicious. My favorite are the watermelon, lemon and the mango ones. The tamales and esquites are also very good. I've always been greeted with great service and they're always so nice here. They even have a punch card for each visit and you get something free at the end. You can't go wrong with this place. They have a variety of snacks and everything is sure to hit the spot. read more

ZERO STARS. I went there today planning to get a lot of goodies ( paletas & ice cream ) for my family members at home. I turned back from the door as the person handling the ice cream wasn't wearing a mask. It seems like she was putting more ice cream in the containers or something as she had half her body leaning towards the ice cream counter. Very bad in these pandemic times. She saw I did not want to get inside and didn't even bother on putting a mask on when I was approaching the door. Very unsafe. People beware. This place definitely brings me back to Mexico! I've been to a handful of diff Michoacana's (they may be named the same, but they are different owners) & this one by far has been the best one. Also, there is a diff one closer to home, but I'll definitely drive a few more miles for this specific location. I ordered a double scoop of ice cream and dorinachos (Doritos, nacho cheese, queso fresco, jalapeño, corn, and lime). I don't think they have it on their menu, but this is exactly what I purchase in Mexico and they gladly made it for me. Also price is fair! This place has the best vanilla ice cream I've ever had. Their vanilla is very yellow compared to American brands and it has a much stronger and more delicious flavor. It is authentic Mexican vanilla. My boyfriend is from Michoacan and he said this place is very authentic to the same ice cream company that originated in Mexico. The interior is also very clean.
