Yesterday turned out not to be the best day to head over to Pacific Rim Food Park to chill out there and eat a meal from one of the myriads of food trucks there because it was windy and a little rainy. Nevertheless, that didn't dampen the experience. I got to see what the food park is all about when I walked up to Stackers Burger Company food truck to place an order. The park is part drive-thru, part grassy picnics, and picnic tables. Cuisines PRF Park offers are Japanese by Mobiyaki, Paraguayan and New Mexican by La Cocina de Ana, smashed burgers by Stackers Burger Co., coffee and espresso by Dawn Patrol Coffee, and Viet Flavor. Pacific Rim also hosts lots of events there. This coming Thursday (June 1), they will have live music by Andy Mason from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. PRF Park is family-friendly offering several family events like their Family Fun Day, 4-8 p.m., Sun., June 4. Check out their Father's Day Eat and Shop! 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., Sat., June 17. Sixty-plus vendors will be there. If you want to have a picnic but don't want to cook, head over there. Great new food truck park with several types of food trucks for a variety of offerings including coffee, vietnamese food, japanese food, mexican food, and flavorful american food. Each has quite a few items on their menu, so there's plenty of options for anyone's, regardless of what you feel like eating when you arrive. There's even a nice grass area in the center and seating surrounding that part to make it inviting to hang out for a bit after you get your food so that you can enjoy the weather instead of eating in your car. They recently started doing weekly events to liven up the offerings and make visits even more interesting. It even has electrical hookups for each truck so that there's no loud generators polluting the area with sound or fumes. There are additional spots for expansion or events. It's on the property of the nearby church and uses the parking of both the church and the recycling drop off area, so while it appears to be abnormal, I've not had issues parking yet. read more

Finally stopped by and wasn't disappointed! So delicious! I tried mobiyaki Japanese food truck with teriyaki fried rice bowl, it had lots of bacon and was delicious, I'd order it again! Also got a stackers smash burger that could have used more green chile but was good too! read more

Swing and a miss. It's really not the best location for a food truck park despite the residential area. The times are weird, and even when it's "open" not all of the trucks are operating. We went on a Saturday in late spring around 5pm. So it's light out, warm, you'd think it would be popular and everyone would be open, right? No. Only three trucks were open and it was pretty dead. You place your order, get charged sit-down restaurant prices, wait around for a while, and get...sub-par food. Well, actually, the Indian food truck is okay, and I made about 4 meals out of my biryani, so that was fine, but my husband got a burger and felt overall that the food wasn't worth the price, especially when he tried to order other things they offer (fries, tots, etc.) only to be told they couldn't do it either because they didn't have the food or the frier wasn't working. It's a cool idea, but ultimately I think it fell pretty flat. We won't be going back or recommending anyone to go. Also they changed their name to ABQ Food Park. A much better name than Pacific Rim Food Park, in my opinion. So there's that. read more

I was happy to find two of the food trucks open on a chilly winter night at sunset. I got from Viet Flavor. It's easy to order vegetarian there, as the fish sauce is separate from the other sauce. The person I ordered from was nice, as was the person at the burger place, who said they are trying to create a veggie burger for the menu. My vietnamese food is good. This would be a nice place to sit and eat on a warmer day or night. I was told about family movie nights put on by the church next door. I hope the food truck park will start offering some love music, movies, or other events for adults! read more

Don't believe the website when it says the Food Park is open - even if it takes your online order, your money, and sends you a text with your pickup time. Got there today after getting my email and subsequent text confirmation, and all the businesses were closed! And I was not the only disappointed and confused customer standing there in the closed park. To their credit, I received a "cancellation" and credit back to my card a few hours later. Obviously I can't comment on the food. I'll give them another chance some day, but not without calling first, since the website info is wrong and their online ordering system takes orders when they're closed. read more

One of my favorite places to hang out and eat! The outdoor seating is great for enjoying the beautiful Abq weather. Theres a great variety of food to choose from and all the trucks get orders our fairly quickly. I've also been here when they host movie nights and it's a great time for the family. This place is awesome. My wife and I tried it last Thursday, and went back with our son on Friday. The owners of the food trucks are incredibly friendly, and helpful. If you don't understand what a dish entails, they were all very happy to explain them. Once the weather gets a little warmer, this place will be awesome to spend an evening at. I've been following the evolution of this food park for months. It seems to have had a number of issues with hours of operation and what I consider high prices. I was pleasantly surprised today to find that most of the food trucks were open. After checking out the prices on most of the trucks I found that the majority had adjusted prices to a reasonable level. We sampled specialty's from Sharkey's and Rising Star 2. The Ceviche tostada from Sharkey's was excellent. We also tried the Chili Caribe, wonderful hot pepper wrapped in bacon stuffed with cream cheese and shrimp. We sampled the green onion with egg pancake from Rising Star 2, very flavorful, comes with a lovely hot sauce. Also enjoyed their popcorn shrimp with several side sauces. Both dishes are accompanied with fresh marinated carrot/ salad or marinated cucumbers. The folks preparing the food are really friendly and concerned about your experience. Highly recommend both of these locations! read more
