Since I am in New Mexico, I decided I would order street tacos from Flora. I had carne asada and grilled shrimp Both were delicious. I enjoyed those with a custom mix Old Fashioned from the....Old Fashioned purveyors. You pick the alcohol, sweetener and bitter. I chose Amador Tennessee Whiskey, maple syrup and black walnut bitters. Yummy! Service at both locations was friendly and efficient. We ate at Sawmill today. We started with a gluten-free crêpe from XO waffles. When I asked about cross contamination the gentleman taking our order told us that nothing else is made on the crêpe griddle except gluten-free crêpes, so there's no cross-contamination. My daughter got strawberries, Nutella, bananas, and whipped cream on it. It was really good for a gluten-free crêpe. I got tacos from Flora two shrimp tacos and a root veggie taco and they were all good. All three tacos were gluten-free. I also got loaded fries from Meso Grill they had feta and Greek olives. They don't fry anything but falafel and french fries in the fryer both gluten free so there was no risk of cross contamination. My daughter got pho from Kulantro, which was gluten-free and she loved it. My sister ordered ramen from Clay Pot, which was not gluten-free she loved it too. Overall, everything was good. read more

YOOO - this place hit the spot!. In what seems to be the heart of the Arts District in ABQ, is a huge industrial building turned food hall. The parking situation is crazy though. Roads are closed and access really is limited to how you get in and out- so just be ready! But aside from parking issues, the place itself is beautiful! I loved the industrial vibes and with how detailed each restaurant or stores area was. There is a ton of seating: indoor, upstairs, and outside. Lots of variety offered inside, but ultimately I ordered from Dr. Field Goods (burgers) and Outlaw Chicken from amazing rotisserie chicken. This is my go-to place to spend a couple of hours while my car is being serviced. The collection of food stands is novel and adventurous. Traditional comfort foods like hamburgers are scarce but you can get waffles, Asian, gluten-free, salads and international exotica. My only quibble is that the place now has loud, thumping music piped throughout -- which gives it an exciting vibe but is not condusive to a relaxing meal and conversation. Sawmill is always a good stop in with a large group when you don't know what to eat. That's why after my partners graduation we decided to stop in for a celebratory drink and some snacks. Typically when we come we always stop in for Neko Neko when we've come in the past. So this time we got noodles and my friend grabbed a pizza. It's very cute at the moment since there are trees decorated in different themes throughout fundraising for children's organizations plus holiday decorations throughout. I love coming to places like this! LOTS of food options and I never know where to eat at because everything ends up looking soo good! We ended up getting a drink from Paxton's, food from Kulantro, and dessert from Neko Neko. It was packed while we were there because of a homecoming, but we still had no issues with finding places to sit and enjoy our meal. Some of the food was expensive for what you get, but other places had giant portions that were worth the price! We were visiting from out of town and some family members suggested we head there. I was glad we did. I'm in the ABQ on business this week and my local colleagues from work organized an after work event at the Sawmill Market. What a cool place this is. It reminds of Eataly in Boston. It's a warehouse with different food vendors. Upstairs has ample space to accommodate large groups. On my walk around I saw Italian pasta, pizza, Mediterranean, Mexican, and then braked when I saw fish and chips! I ordered fish and chips which came with a side of cole slaw and a hush puppy! The fish was a large piece of cod fish with a golden brown batter. I thoroughly enjoyed the fish and the hush puppy. Cole slaw was just okay. FOOD OPTIONS It's a great food hall with lots of options for everyone. We ordered pasta and a pizza from two different vendors and both were very good. INDOOR & OUTDOOR SEATING There's outdoor seating that looked really nice, but it was way too hot and humid that day for us to sit outside. The inside of the food hall is very clean, spacious, and welcoming, and cool b/c of the AC. So we ate inside. The outside again looks really nice and can picture coming here w/friends in the evening to hang out. WATER ACCESS One thing they should improve is adding water stations throughout the food hall. It was harder than expected to get water cups from the vendors we ordered from. PARKING The parking situation is a bit ratchet, we ended up parking in the dirt, not even a real parking lot b/c the real one was full so the dirt was the overflow. This food court is a next level. As I was Albuquerque for a few days over the Memorial Day weekend, I couldn't stop thinking about my rapidly growing home city (Denver to be exact) that could utilize such a vast food hall to serve the growing population. I first walked around the entire place to see what it had. Spanish, Italian, British, Mexican, Japanese, Vietnamese, I mean you name it. If you want to eat a little bit from a few to several different restaurants you can do that as well. Let's not forget; there are more than a handful of places that offer sweets as well. Not to mention, a centralized bar and a few other places for alcohol which can enhance whatever meal you'll get. Seating is plenty both inside and outside. The patio space is quite nice where you'll be under an umbrella or something to be shielded from the sun. I went with Hiro Sushi thinking that I would get me a few items from them so I would later go to a different restaurant to get a few more things (as of this writing, I had just finished the three nigiris (salmon, yellowtail and tuna) and am still contemplating on getting more from a different restaurant. By the way, the nigiris were all solid. For a place like this, the quality of the fish was more than satisfactory. The female staff that assisted me at Hiro was quite friendly and welcoming. She said my food would be ready in 15 minutes and yet my buzzer buzzed way before that promised time. I applauded the promptness.) The only thing is that since this place is so huge, I am not sure if the staff are staying on top of cleaning the tables (one of the bar type seatings where I sat was clean but I later went to a different table where it had an outlet to charge my phone. We wanted that little Italian bistro here tonight. I had the Pomodoro meal. Unfortunately the curley, round, pumpkin shaped noodles were way undercooked. They were almost crunchy. The sauce was good, with the pistachio nuts, but I had a hard time wading through my dish with these almost inedible pasta bits. My companion had the meal with the cream green chile sauce. I'm surprised at how many vendors are in this wonderful indoor dining space. We ended up having Kulantro and I'm so thankful because it was exactly what my body was craving. The portions were generous, loaded with fresh veggies, authentic Vietnamese flavors. Seating is comfortable. The restrooms are nice but oddly only two hand dryers available for the women's restroom when there should be at least 4 hand dryers available. Private parking lot, free. To have this place located steps away from my hotel (Chaco) was such a treat and I stopped in 2-3 times per day, starting off with coffee from the delightful Little Bear. One evening I had vegan pizza from Hawt Pizza and another night I had Mediterranean food from Meso Grill. There's truly something for everyone here, poke bowls, pho, a botanical bar, a rosé bar, New Mexican food... I love the variety and it's the perfect place to go with your friends when you all have different tastes or dietary restrictions. There's also plenty of seating, both inside and on the front and back patios. I loved sitting outside in the evening, when the weather was not too hot. While it's more bustling in the evenings with families and groups of friends, I felt perfectly comfortable sitting by myself with my laptop. Another thing I noticed is that literally every staff person here is so incredibly nice and welcoming. Tables are all bussed immediately if people leave their stuff behind. Over the last year, I have visited Albuquerque twice, and during those two trips, I went to the Sawmill Market three times. Yes, that's right...more than one visit per trip to Albuquerque! That's because I absolutely loved my visits to a wonderful food hall with a bit of everything. With approximately 30 restaurants/vendors at the Sawmill Market, I enjoyed going to six of them over my three visits. The Sawmill Market is in the Sawmill District, which is home to wonderful hotels, restaurants, bars, shopping, live entertainment, and holistic wellness journeys. On my first visit, I enjoyed a flavored hard cider at Paxton's Taproom (it was ok), a cheeseburger and fries at Dr. Field Goods (delicious), and an Orange Dream at the Sweets Soda Fountain (delicious). On my second visit, I got pepperoni pizza from the Hawt Pizza Co. (delicious) and another Orange Dream at the Sweets Soda Fountain (delicious). On my third visit, I got a creamy lemon pasta at Tulipani Pasta (delicious), a Frose at The Rose Bar (not a fan, but then again, I should have known that as I'm not a Rose fan), and some candy from the Sweets Soda Fountain (to take home). The service at all six places was wonderful with free water stations around the floor. I was with work colleagues on all three visits. On the first visit, we reserved The Mill Room upstairs, which accommodates up to 100 people. Other reservable spaces include The Back Yard (outside) and The Flora Room (also upstairs). Our organization also arranged gift cards for each of us to use at however many restaurants we can go to within the amount of money on the gift card. You can order food online through https://www.sawmillmarket.com. Through the website, I learned that the Sawmill Market opens daily at 8 AM and stays open until 9 PM on Sundays through Thursdays and 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. They also host events such as football watch parties, family movie nights, and many holiday events. They also have a market-wide happy hour Mondays through Thursdays from 4-6 PM. Specials include discounted drinks and food items. This was certainly one of the highlights of my Albuquerque trips, and I look forward to going back to the Sawmill Market the next time I am in town. read more

While at the Sawmill market, I got the chance to try outlaw chicken. If you want to get more bang for your buck, I recommend the 1/4 chicken meal. Charbroiled chicken, charred broccolini and fries. Amazing taste and the amount of fries was enough to share with a group of 4. Service was great and cashier took his time to explain the different options. The Sawmill in general had a pleasant ambiance and there was many options for my sweet tooth! Located in Old Town Albuquerque area-this large beautiful building has parking on the street & both sides of the building. It has a great area for quick pick up orders also. With various seating areas and styles to multiple seating outdoors as well, this is a great meet up spot for friends and groups. We sat right in the middle as I loved the booth with the wood stump seat and wanted to be right in the middle of everything to people watch, see what restaurants, bars, desserts were busiest. It was a bit loud and a family sat in the bar seating behind our table so we had to be on good behavior. Just to say this is not really a private and intimate kind of place and more of social gathering. I loved all of the different kinds of spaces. When walking around you really have to check every nook and cranny to make sure you see all the market has to offer. We were there Friday night and noticed that some of the places do start selling out or closing before the 10pm closing time so make sure to plan for adequate time. Yummy eats! Here at the yard, it is very busy, but with the many options, we do not have to wait long to get our order in or to receive our food. This is a great place to people watch!
