One nice thing about an indoor market with food is the variety of offerings. We have been to the Sawmill Market before, but this time we tried two different establishments: Kulantro - Vietnamese street food and Tulipani Pasta. Excellent offerings at reasonable prices in an exciting atmosphere and ample indoor and outdoor seating. Service is quick. Want to see and hear about why we like the Sawmill Market so much? Just click on the following YouTube video link and enjoy watching us enjoy ourselves. https://youtu.be/ujtXGQPp5n0?si=bRfXLY5wptJMxYrr

YOOO - this place hit the spot!. In what seems to be the heart of the Arts District in ABQ, is a huge industrial building turned food hall. The parking situation is crazy though. Roads are closed and access really is limited to how you get in and out- so just be ready! But aside from parking issues, the place itself is beautiful! I loved the industrial vibes and with how detailed each restaurant or stores area was. There is a ton of seating: indoor, upstairs, and outside. Lots of variety offered inside, but ultimately I ordered from Dr. Field Goods (burgers) and Outlaw Chicken from amazing rotisserie chicken. The food was incredible and I highly recommend if you are in the ABQ!

Sawmill is always a good stop in with a large group when you don't know what to eat. That's why after my partners graduation we decided to stop in for a celebratory drink and some snacks. Typically when we come we always stop in for Neko Neko when we've come in the past. So this time we got noodles and my friend grabbed a pizza. It's very cute at the moment since there are trees decorated in different themes throughout fundraising for children's organizations plus holiday decorations throughout. Kulantro's dishes are always very refreshing just make sure to get there with time because closer to closing they have limited ingredients.

I love coming to places like this! LOTS of food options and I never know where to eat at because everything ends up looking soo good! We ended up getting a drink from Paxton's, food from Kulantro, and dessert from Neko Neko. It was packed while we were there because of a homecoming, but we still had no issues with finding places to sit and enjoy our meal. Some of the food was expensive for what you get, but other places had giant portions that were worth the price! It's the Yelp Elite in me that dies a little of happiness when I end up with multiple places to review in one visit!

Food choices are a variety!! We had the pizza from the pizza place there it was so good!! Got some macaroons from the sweet shop service is great in all places!! Love to stay across the street at El Chaco or Hotel Albuquerque so we can come hang out here at the Sawmill!! Some amazing friends turned us on to this place!!!

Sawmill Market literally has something for everyone whether you are heading there solo or with a group, you can't go wrong! We were visiting from out of town and some family members suggested we head there. I was glad we did. The options are almost overwhelming but once you take a couple of laps, it's easier to narrow down your choices. Some spots are a little on the spendy side, but the environment is really cool overall. We found the space to be fairly clean and it had an abundance of seating! I would definitely love to return in the future and try some additional fare!

I'm in the ABQ on business this week and my local colleagues from work organized an after work event at the Sawmill Market. What a cool place this is. It reminds of Eataly in Boston. It's a warehouse with different food vendors. Upstairs has ample space to accommodate large groups. On my walk around I saw Italian pasta, pizza, Mediterranean, Mexican, and then braked when I saw fish and chips! I ordered fish and chips which came with a side of cole slaw and a hush puppy! The fish was a large piece of cod fish with a golden brown batter. I thoroughly enjoyed the fish and the hush puppy. Cole slaw was just okay. When you order, they give you a pager so you can leave and be paged when your order is ready.

This food court is a next level. As I was Albuquerque for a few days over the Memorial Day weekend, I couldn't stop thinking about my rapidly growing home city (Denver to be exact) that could utilize such a vast food hall to serve the growing population. I first walked around the entire place to see what it had. Spanish, Italian, British, Mexican, Japanese, Vietnamese, I mean you name it. If you want to eat a little bit from a few to several different restaurants you can do that as well. Let's not forget; there are more than a handful of places that offer sweets as well. Not to mention, a centralized bar and a few other places for alcohol which can enhance whatever meal you'll get. Seating is plenty both inside and outside. The patio space is quite nice where you'll be under an umbrella or something to be shielded from the sun. I went with Hiro Sushi thinking that I would get me a few items from them so I would later go to a different restaurant to get a few more things (as of this writing, I had just finished the three nigiris (salmon, yellowtail and tuna) and am still contemplating on getting more from a different restaurant. By the way, the nigiris were all solid. For a place like this, the quality of the fish was more than satisfactory. The female staff that assisted me at Hiro was quite friendly and welcoming. She said my food would be ready in 15 minutes and yet my buzzer buzzed way before that promised time. I applauded the promptness.) The only thing is that since this place is so huge, I am not sure if the staff are staying on top of cleaning the tables (one of the bar type seatings where I sat was clean but I later went to a different table where it had an outlet to charge my phone. The table was quite filthy.)

Sawmill is always a good time. Theres plenty of local food vendors that offer a variety of cuisines.

The partially cooked noodles in the Pomodoro sauce. Please serve noodles that are cooked. They were not even al dente.
    Laura B.

We wanted that little Italian bistro here tonight. I had the Pomodoro meal. Unfortunately the curley, round, pumpkin shaped noodles were way undercooked. They were almost crunchy. The sauce was good, with the pistachio nuts, but I had a hard time wading through my dish with these almost inedible pasta bits. My companion had the meal with the cream green chile sauce. He is from California and did not know better, but he was hungry and ate his anyway. Ha!

From coffee to pastries, pasta, pizza, and ice cream. Sawmill Market has endless, endless options for snacks, breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. You can buy a pickle and pair with some fresh lemonade or a Greek salad. That's what I love about Sawmill Market - there's something for everyone, all the time. Just go check it out, walk around and choose something!

Kulantro pho. Piping hot, authentic homemade flavor, perfect.
    Trisha W.

I'm surprised at how many vendors are in this wonderful indoor dining space. We ended up having Kulantro and I'm so thankful because it was exactly what my body was craving. The portions were generous, loaded with fresh veggies, authentic Vietnamese flavors. Seating is comfortable. The restrooms are nice but oddly only two hand dryers available for the women's restroom when there should be at least 4 hand dryers available. Private parking lot, free. Plenty of street parking nearby.

Ask the Community - Sawmill Market

Are dogs allowed on the outdoor patio?

Only service dogs are allowed on the property in and outdoors.

    Can I bring my husky?

Unfortunately at Sawmill Market , only service dogs are allowed.

My friends and I visited the Sawmill Market when it first opened. At that time, no vegan options were available from any vendor, so we ended up leaving to have dinner elsewhere. Has that changed? Are vegan options available from each vendor, if any?

Yes, there are some vegan options. Not a ton, but some.

So I'm thinking "eggplant burger" sounds like something my hippie cousin would order while doing yoga in the desert, but NOPE. This purple beauty showed up looking like it graduated summa cum laude from Burger University. The sweet potato tots? Forget about it! They were so crispy and perfect, I'm pretty sure they were blessed by the sweet potato gods themselves. I may have made some questionable moaning sounds that scared the family at the next table, but no regrets. And can we talk about the Oktoberfest from Santa Fe Brewery? This beer was smoother than my dance moves after three margaritas (which is saying something because I dance like a caffeinated penguin). It paired with that eggplant burger like peanut butter and jelly, or like me and bad life decisions. The service was so good I wanted to adopt the entire staff. They were attentive without being clingy, friendly without being weird, and they didn't judge me when I asked for extra napkins because I eat like a toddler at a birthday party. Bottom line: If you don't come here, you're doing your taste buds a disservice that should probably be illegal. Seems this Sensational eatery used to be a bus but lost it's wheels and is now permanently parked in the #2 spot just off Central Ave on the sunny El Vado open air patio/plaza. Bein' a fool for a Cubano sandwich, I succumbed to the moral obligation to order these friendly folks' Spicy Cubano version with parmesan & truffle chips on the side. When I got home & opened the to-go box I was duly impressed at the generous size of the sandwich. The handful of homemade lookin' chips was adequate at filling its corner of the container. From the first bite, the spicy aspect was not inside the sandwich. While well flavored, the Scoville scale on that sammie was on the low end of heat, particularly for the Burqueño crowd. However, the large'ish pepperoncini spiked to the top of the sandwich was the nuclear blast bringin' a little scorched earth policy to the party. We're talking nasal clearing, eye watering, tongue shrivelling, throat chokin' thermal overload. It was so good!! The flat bread on the sammie was chewy & sturdy enough to corral the layers of beef, ham, cheese, and pickles without degradation or deteriorating. The red chile mayo was super sparse, to the point of almost non-existent, and left me wanting for more to jack up the heat a bit. The beef was okay to good, being subtly spiced which let the umami taste shine through. Ham was of the water added variety so offered decent texture & moistness to the filling. But the smoke note in the mix was a soft one, not intense with the acrid attack often found in dry cure hams. Pickles were okay to good. Cheese was likewise okay to good, though not as spicy as I would hope for from a pepper jack cheese. The parmesan & truffle fries were of the sturdy sort. The good news being that they were surprisingly non-greasy in spite of being mottled in a pinto pony pattern of oil saturated patches across their surfaces. My fingers remained delightfully free of napkin dabbing while devouring the chips. The bad news being that they tasted like pretty much standard home made potato chips found everywhere. I didn't pick up the parmesan funkiness or pungency on them at all. So the chips were sort of a 3 star affair & just okay being crunchy, fried, salty enough without overdoing it, and not greasy. With the Cubano & chips being about a 3.5 star situation, it's the friendly cashier lady & cook who make Street Food Sensations a solid 4 star affair. I found them to be friendly and welcoming and fun. So kudos to the staff for being a bright addition to the sunny atmosphere of the El Vado eating scene.
