    Katsu soba
    Heidi A.

At first I ordered off the secret menu, but the staff told me "it's actually a secret to me as well, I'm a new cook." He was so honest and I loved his energy so it wasn't too huge of a disappointment! I hope he has learned how to make it by now lol Instead, I ordered the Katsu soba. The katsu was perfectly crispy, and the yakisoba was perfectly seasoned as well. I love the food truck park because of the picnic benches and the grassy area, such a fun atmosphere!

Stopped by on the way back to Arizona. Looked good on the menu. Unfortunately it was not good, and I want to give a positive here. Noodles were mush. Vegetables were also way overcooked and mush. I was thinking the katsu would be beef, and even asked before ordering, but I didn't find any. I thought the sauce cup would be a teriyaki sauce, but it's just a chili sauce, and I was given sriracha hot sauce too?

What a cool place. Food trucks, grass area. The fried rice was unique and fresh. Excellent food.

Now you get it. This is that, but in a food truck! I got the NY strip steak, with chicken on the side for my 2 year daughter ($29). My partner got the tofu hibachi ($18). This came out to about $50 total. You may be thinking- WOW that's a lot of money. Let me tell you, they give you a TON of food. And not just any food, fresh good quality food. Each hibachi bowl comes with fresh veggies and your choice of white or fried rice-- and if you get fried rice expect that it's cooked fresh on that flame in their truck. They do it exactly as you would expect in a restaurant. So while it did take about 15 minutes to get our food (we were the 2nd folks in line for the day) it would take MUCH longer at a hibachi-style restaurant (hours if you think about it). There was so much food in my bowl I had a whole extra meal the next day that I warmed up in my wok. Now, my partner on the other hand doesn't get quality tofu, and he inhaled his whole plate while we were at the food-truck-park. The tofu was crispy, the rice was fuego, and the veggies were fresh! If you're looking for QUALITY food from a food truck, cuts of meat that are not the "scraps" but the whole prime cut, if you're looking for friendly ladies cooking you a meal that goes the distance than this IS the place. ... and there is a reason this sells out early every day. It's in high demand! I give this 11/10... above and beyond! Ps: I wish I had kept the pictures of the tofu and chicken, for my daughter it was a lot- we even shared with the dog when we got home... and for the tofu it was so supremely cooked. We all ate good!

I personally found that the price/value for the amount and quality of food Nomad's bbq provides is well worth it. I had a pulled pork sandwich (plus a bit of brisket and the 2 sides that I couldn't resist trying to save for my next meal) and thought the meat was smokey, jiving and so scrumptious...and this is coming from someone who normally doesn't eat so much meat like myself! Overall, I really like that Theo seems passionate about making the food that he serves. Plus, it doesn't hurt that this bbq type of food tastes so good..and is so rare to find ABQ, too.

It is not the biggest restaurant, and is popular, so I would recommend being prepared to wait during "popular busy time" but it is so worth the wait. So I also recommend waiting. The staff is always pretty friendly and accommodating. I shared an app, a roll and an order of salmon sashimi with a friend on both visits. The food is always fresh, and delicious! I never feel like I am being overcharged for what I get either. Going to eat for sushi can feel like that sometimes. The quality of the food is great and everything is always aesthetically pleasing as well. I had their avocado bomb on my last visit and I was delightfully surprised with it. I like avocado in most cases, but sometimes, it can be a lot at one. I thought this was going to be like that when I saw it, but I was wrong. I look forward to getting one of these on my next visit! On my last visit my friend and I saved room for a dessert, one that we saw rotating on their screens that they have in the restaurant showcasing some of the menu items. It was a take on a bananas foster. It looked delicious but alas, we'll see if we can manage to get it next time. Note to self, have dessert first on next visit?
