I came back to Bowl Thai Grill to try more new dishes and they did not disappoint. The Kai Yang, Pork Larb and Kai Kua were authentic, savory and delicious. The staff were fantastic and friendly. Ambiance was casual and comfortable.
I was looking for a place that offered healthy yet delicious food, and I was excited to give this restaurant a try. Thankfully, the food absolutely delivered. I ordered the Sakar grilled chicken with a salad, and it was outstanding. The chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful, while the salad was incredibly fresh and delicious. Every bite was enjoyable. My mother ordered the coconut shrimp soup, and she loved it as well. Unfortunately, what should have been a 5-star experience was significantly impacted by one staff member who was handling food orders and assisting at the front. After waiting quite some time and noticing that three groups who ordered after us had already received their food, I politely asked if he could check on the status of my order. My mother had nearly finished her soup by that point. His response was, "Well, if it was ready, you'd have it. It'll come when it's ready." The tone and delivery were unnecessarily rude and dismissive. Several nearby guests appeared surprised by the interaction as well. Throughout our visit, I also observed him interacting poorly with other staff members. He appeared impatient with the cashier, snatching items from her hands and speaking in a manner that came across as disrespectful. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere that stood in stark contrast to the excellent service provided by the rest of the team. I want to specifically recognize the cashier and another young lady working today, both of whom were friendly, professional, and even apologized for the situation despite it not being their fault. They were wonderful and helped. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed it enough that we even walked over to the sister dessert shop afterward for sticky rice. That's why this was so disappointing, the quality of the food and the kindness of the rest of the staff deserved a much higher rating. My only message to management is to please address this employee's customer service and professionalism. One negative interaction should not overshadow what is otherwise a fantastic dining experience.
From the outside this place looks pretty basic, but I ended up really enjoying the food here. You order at the counter and then find a seat vibe. The food came out very fast too! I got the beef satay with sticky rice and papaya salad, and everything went so well together. The beef was flavorful, the sticky rice was a great balance to the papaya salad, and they have unlimited vinegar available which made the meal even better. I kept going back for more because it paired perfectly with everything. We also got the mango sticky rice for dessert and it tasted very fresh. The mango was sweet and ripe, and the sticky rice had a nice texture. They also have both indoor and outdoor seating.

Food was good. Mango sticky rice beer was drinkable. Service was excellent; super friendly. The place was clean. Sweet Rice and this place are from the same owners. This place always has foot traffic when I have gone into Sweet Rice. It's a solid choice if Thai food is what you're craving. The beer being sold at $10 was overly priced.

Quick, delicious food in a self-serve set up. You order up front, grab your own plates, utensils, water, sauces, and seat yourself. Huge parking lot so you won't have trouble finding parking :) There is a $10 minimum if you want to use credit card. Super fast service; it felt like we got our food in just 10 minutes! All the grilled meat dishes come with a choice of salad and rice. Gai Yaang: 5/5. So good! The chicken was very juicy, tender, and had a delicious charred grill flavor. The sauce tasted like the Pantai sweet and sour sauce but watered down. Moo Ping: 4/5. Pretty good, just tasted a bit strange with the sauce that came with it. Thai Ribs: 1000/5. Wow, my favorite out of everything we ordered! Soooo flavorful, tender, and moist. Salty and sweet, just the way I like it! I'm salivating just thinking about it, this dish is a NEED!!!! Papaya salad: 3/5. Not good - it needs way more lime juice and is missing the spice, dried shrimp, and fish sauce! The peanuts were not crunchy at all as well, so they seemed a bit old. The green papaya tasted very fresh though! The portions for the grilled meat dishes are not the biggest I would say. Maybe good for 1.5 meals at most!
Dropped by to pick up some food to-go and I really enjoyed my crispy pork & chinese broccoli bowl that came with rice and a perfectly fried egg on top. Service was excellent and I did not have to wait too long for my order. I'd definitely come back to dine in and try more off the menu.
Got the Moo Ping plate! It came with papaya salad and white rice. The meat was good, but the sauce it came with was a bit strange. It was like a sour sauce with a lot of citric acid in it. The papaya salad didn't taste like much, just fresh papaya, could've done with some more lime. Overall, 6/10. Water, plates, utensils, and to go boxes are all self service here. The parking lot is big as well. Would definitely come again to grab some good Thai food!
Random find and I was very impressed. Starting with service...It's order at the counter. The menu's are nearby and and after a quick review of offerings, I was ready to order. An employee already came by and told us to ring the bell for service if no one was at the register. Easy and simple. Upon ringing the bell, an employee was in front of us within seconds. The food is affordable and at a great price point. Our meals were delicious. I loved the grilled chicken with peanut sauce (which was served on the side), paired with white rice and papaya salad. It was satisfying and flavorful! The other dish ordered by my husband was a fried rice. He enjoyed his as well, but next time would add more meat. Food came out fast, fresh and hot. I had left overs and it was easy to grab a box I needed from the counter. Employees were cleaning and very busy the entire time. The restaurant was clean, open and inviting. Plenty of parking in front as it is located in a large shopping center with multiple other food establishments, Tokyo central market, and more.
I think same owners as bowl Thai (closed), sweet rice and the Thai hot pot. Bowl Thai was prop the best/most authentic Thai spot in the South Bay so this is also on par. I tried their gai kua and got it medium spicy. Just a note they do Thai spice levels so medium is more like spicy. If you don't like spice get no spice or mild. The dish was similar to pad see ew but no soy sauce and it had shiitake mushrooms which I love. Tasted amazing but only complaint is that it was mostly noodles. Not too much chicken or mushrooms which were very thin.
I finally got to try out one of Bowl Thai Grill's grill entrees. I have had their sister restaurants Bowl Thai as well as Sweet Rice and have enjoyed dishes from both of those places very much. (I will admit though there was so hesitation of checking this sister restaurant out because I had a bad customer experience a few years back at Sweet Rice - one of the worse I've ever experienced ever. Nevertheless I still wanted to give this spot a chance and I am glad I did). I chose to get their Chicken Satay. For $18.99, it comes with choice of rice and salad. I got it with their sticky rice and papaya salad. I really enjoyed this entree. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The flavor was enhanced with a peanut sauce as well as a spicy green sauce. The chicken also paired well with the sticky rice and papaya salad. Overall it was quite fulfilling. I enjoyed my first visit to Bowl Thai Grill and hope to try their items in the future.
Very casual Thai spot with a walk up counter and seat-yourself setup. The restaurant is spacious with seating outside, but also tons of seating inside which is great for groups. I also saw another "sister" store with the same menu so there's definitely plenty of seating. We tried the tom yum soup with chicken (came with rice), the chicken with string beans, and the pad see ew. The chicken in the tom yum soup was really good and didn't feel overcooked. The chicken and string beans had a kick with a little spice, but not the painful kind. It was very flavorful and that was a surprise. The pad see ew was also cooked really well but I think the stars for us were the soup and the chicken & string beans! The food came out very fast - you bring the number to your table after ordering and they find you. It's also located in a plaza with free parking.
Bowl Thai Grill brought the heat! I ordered the Pad See Eew at spice level 9, and it had my nose running. Now I'm curious to see what a 10 tastes like! The pineapple curry fried rice was the perfect sweet balance to the heat. But the chicken Tom Kha stole the show. Ordered to-go for tonight's dinner. Food was great and portion was enough for the family. And THIS THING was found in LAAB. Don't know if its a good thing or a bad thing that I found it when the food was almost gone. Please be more careful when preparing and cleaning ingredients, especially vegetables that are grown in the ground. Finding dirt still on the food was really unpleasant and disappointing. read more

We love getting Thai food to go from here! The steak satay with sticky rice is sooo good and a small papaya salad on the side is chefs kiss. The chicken pad Thai is also very flavorful and a big portion enough for for leftovers! Service is quick and efficient about 10-15 minutes after you order. It's always crowded and such a feel good community Thai restaurant. read more

The employee gave me an accurate pickup time, and everything was ready as promised--smooth experience overall. Ambiance: When you walk in, it feels like a fast-casual Thai spot. You order at the counter first, then find a seat. The space is clean, though the lighting is very cool-toned; I prefer warmer lighting if I'm going to dine in. Food: Pineapple curry fried rice (3.5/5): Good flavor with chunks of pineapple and chicken. Generous portion size. Chicken satay (3.5/5): Flavor was okay, a little on the dry side, and they provided more dipping sauces than necessary. Beef pad see eew (3.5/5): Tasty overall, but better suited for dining in--the rice noodles stuck together and broke apart by the time I got home. Overall: Flavors were decent, proportions were fair, and service was efficient. Still, nothing really drew me in to come back regularly. read more

We came on a Saturday night around 6:30. We ordered at the front and found an empty table to sit down. Ambiance is simplistic white table and red chair. Service is minimal, as we need to get our own water, utensils and sauces. We even pour the plates back. So I have to say they have the audacity to ask for 15, 18, 20, 25% of tip. This tip culture is so over the top. Why did I paid Tip in the first place? Can I get a refund? We ordered pad wood sen with beef, Tom yum fried rice with shrimp, and chicken satay with rice. The pad wood sen noodle flavor is good, but the beef has no flavor , and there are very raw cabbage and raw green onions. As much as I love green onions, I don't want raw green thick onion in my dish. The tom yum fried rice and chicken satay taste not bad. Not sure if I will come back. read more
I rarely give out a 5 star but this place hit all the flavor spots and absolutely cured my thai food craving. We kept it simple and order Pad see ew and chicken satay , and let me tell ya ! The texture of the noodles in the pad see ew were perfect, the flavor was perfect. The chicken was so tender and the char was perfect. Everything was excellent. It has a chill atmosphere and the service was on point. The water and chilli sauces are self serve. I will be back asap! read more
Stumbled on this place as my husband and I were checking out what was in the plaza since we frequent one of the coffee and tea places here. And wow, I am glad we did! I got the basil stir fry with ground chicken. So flavorful, love the addition of the fried egg. Generous portion so come hungry, or be ready to take some home. Staff is very friendly and the food comes out quickly from the kitchen. Great lunch spot. read more
Writing this as I'm here, in the mirror side, second table to the window. This is the place you chill at, eat your food in peace and enjoy the ambiance and the food as if it was a delicacy. The service is great, helpful and giving me suggestions. I loved everything, the Thai tea was stellar and it's located in a plaza where everyone's looking for parking but you'll find a spot. The options for seating are limitless ! They got inside, inside with mirrors, and outside patio seating . If you ask me if I'm bringing my friends here, NO, because it's good, will I gate keep it, NO. People need to know! Hope everyone enjoys everything they have to offer. Been going to this place on and off for about a year, and the food has generally been great. Unfortunately, we found a fly in one of our dishes. The staff remade the meal, but no one apologized or acknowledged the issue. We appreciated the replacement, but the lack of concern left us disappointed and soured the experience. If you order a salad, I'd recommend giving it a quick look before eating. We'll be taking a break from coming here for a while. read more

Bowl Thai used to be one of my favorite spots, which makes this review disappointing to write. The quality has become inconsistent. Today we ordered a beef salad and found a hair in the food. My wife politely brought it up, and the server simply removed the hair and said they'd let the kitchen know. That was the extent of the response--no apology, no replacement, no real effort to make it right. Unfortunately, this wasn't an isolated incident. The last time we were here, there was a fly in the fried rice. At that point, it's hard to brush it off as bad luck. This place charges premium prices, and with that comes an expectation of basic food safety and quality control. It's a shame because the flavors are great when everything goes right--but paying top dollar while worrying about what might be in the food makes it difficult to justify coming back. Ambiance is awkward after you find a hair in your food and they don't really resolve it. I really hope they tighten things up, because Bowl Thai has the potential to be great again. For now, I'm on the fence about returning. read more

I ordered to go, can't speak much on dining in but I must say, I was very pleased with my order of Pad Thai Chicken! This has to be one of my favorite Pad Thais in Los Angeles outside of Thailand. Portion size was great. The dish was flavorful. Will be eating here more often. I can't wait to try other items. read more

I've had mixed experiences with the Pad Thai here. Some days it's great and other days it's so overcooked that it can be hard to eat. The service is quick though and the coffee is great. Great setting to get some work done when it's not busy. read more

Ordered a to-go laab from Bowl Thai Grill and found a metal staple/wire inside the food. My boyfriend bit into it and his mouth was bleeding. We contacted the restaurant immediately, but they did not accommodate us or offer a refund. Given the seriousness of a food safety issue like this, the response was very disappointing. This could have caused a much more serious injury. Because of this experience and how it was handled, we will not be returning. read more

It was my first time at this location. I had been in this plaza before, but never at Bowl Thai Grill. Service was great. Friendly and fast. Bowl Thai was my go to for Thai food!!! Their pad see eew was just so yummy!!! It's always something I order when I'm craving or want Thai food. I used to frequent the original location that is now closed and maybe this is just me but for some reason I think the pad see eew tasted better at the og location. It's good here, but I want to say I liked it better at the other location. Lots of parking spaces but I don't like the parking lot. If you know, you know. read more
We got the moo ping and a dirty thai tea here for lunch. For the moo peng I also chose sticky rice and a papaya salad for the order. It was good. The meat was cooked well but I found myself curious to know if their chicken was the better choice. Maybe I'll try it next time. The dirty thai tea got the job done if you were looking for a kick of caffeine. Ambiance is nice. It was pretty quiet. I've been here a few times but never left a review since I wasn't here for me, but for Hubbers and Mom. And then finally I got to try their food, so here I am typing away! My party of three opted for Thai food for dinner. Sweet Rice next door is my go-to, but Hubbers wanted stuff from here (since he really liked what he had the last time) and wanted to try something new. I called in an order (for pick up) and since I was gonna come through, made orders next door as well. "15 minutes," they said. No biggie, we weren't too far. Hubbers and I decided to come through and arrived maybe 5 minutes earlier. Order was good and ready to go! (So was my stuff next door, so the timing was perfect!) CRISPY PORK: The "something new" Hubbers wanted to try. Comes with Chinese broccoli, white rice and a perfectly friend sunny side up egg. The meat is seasoned so well, it needed nothing else. Chinese broccoli was also prepped nicely and the egg added texture to bites. BEEF SATAY: Seasoned to perfection and was great on its own! What made it even better was the chimichurri sauce - easily my top 3 and far better compared to the ones from some steakhouses I've been to. (Hubbers and I agree it's definitely way better than Fogo de Chao's!) A must-have dish! PAD KEE MOW: Hubber's main which he shared, of course. It's his go-to at any Thai eatery. He ordered it with beef and no alterations. The amount of noodles was perfectly portioned to the protein. Whoa, each bite had a bite! Definitely spicy but flavor is on point! He likes his food with a kick and this definitely hit the spot for him. FOOD: 5. SERVICE: 4. Little interaction but I like that our order is always ready within the time promised. VALUE: 3. Food is great, but for the price, portions are (and have gotten) a bit small(er.) But they make up for it in quality. PARKING: Shared with plenty, but tons of spots available. Not an issue. OVERALL: 4. FUN FACT: They are the same Bowl Thai previously located at the Tozai plaza. They only have half their original menu here - the other half is across the way at Sweet Rice. (Try them, their food is amazing, too!) Glad I finally got the chance to try them! There will be future visits! read more
