Then, AFTER he finished installing the new disposal, he told me I needed a new air gap (which was clearly obvious even to me before he came so he must have seen it then), but only LATER told me that needed replacing, $75, and he had to go to Home Depot to buy a new one. It took him almost 3 hours from start to finish. Cost was $760. Now, 1 week later, I woke up at 1 a.m. and found dirty water on my kitchen floor in front of the garbage disposal cabinets. I opened the cabinets and found my large plastic container that held supplies was FILLED WITH the DIRTY WATER to the RIM! I called SoCalPlumbing at 2am hoping they could send someone out to fix on an emergency. Joseph did call back, seemed undisturbed, no concern at all, and said they will try and have someone out 9a-10a, that it was a "quick fix". I already had problems with the extended time the installation took over what I was told in getting this installed, so was already very stressed, especially since I had to at least clean it up the outside floor myself, and am worried about the wood/pressboard base insidegetting ruined also.

It was sticking out about 5-6 inches and looked around to find a reputable plumber to help us out. I contacted a few and many of them told me they didn't do residential work or anything "small". Randomly I was on Nextdoor and asked if anyone knew any good plumbers and 12/20 responded with Graham Plumbing so I figured I'd give them a shot. Right away Reagan set me up with an appointment and even if we had to reschedule I really appreciate that she left multiple voicemails to get to me. On Monday I had Sean come look at the site and see what could be done and right away he told me what would be the best solution. He first checked the water pressure, smart meter and water heater to see that everything was running fine. He then noted a few problems and gave me different options for what he could do. It was nice to know that Sean was quick at pointing out things that our home inspector had told us to repair in our home report. So I knew that Sean was the real deal and wasn't just trying to get us to add more unnecessary projects to the gig. I appreciated the different cost effective options but I opted for the best one, which included everything that we planned to get repaired anyway. It was nice to just get it all done in one full swoop than to have to do it in parts. Sean was very pleasant and took the time to care for our appliances, cabinets and furniture. He also took the time to explain the process and steps as he went. He also showed me what I needed to do when the gas line shut off due to the earthquake shut-off valve and it was nice to know I could explain it to my husband afterwards. Our plumbing bills typically run between $20k and $30k per year. we started using Rob and Austin in Nov 2025 with seriously mixed results, ranging from on-time and fair, to complete failure to return calls and/or show up. most recently they charged us $425 to replace a new valve and a couple 3/4" nipples that feed a water heater. when asked why it was my fault that they did not have a standard 3/4" brass ball value on the truck, rather than a constructive dialog the conversation decivilized, ending with him accusing our on-site contractor of 20 year of lying. truly unbelievable. nobody needs that in their life. there are simply too many options to put up with folks that have a chip on their shoulder, and everything is somebody else's fault... nothing to see here. move on.

There were so many roots but they got them all out, even when it meant getting down and pulling out roots by brute strength.
