It's summer time and getting hotter as the weeks go by. Thought to myself that we should get the AC looked at since it hasn't been touched since 2021 when it was installed. After checking their reviews on Yelp, I called on a Fri afternoon for a quote on R22 refrigerant. I know R22 is expensive (thanks to overbearing CA regulations), but their pricing was very reasonable. They sent a tech out within an hour. After about an hour onsite, the tech completed the service. The gas co had been out and said we had a small leak and that we had to find a plumber to help.... ugh Right??? We found Brea/OC Plumbing in West Yorba Linda Neighbors and scheduled to come out right away. David was the lead technician and Omar was assisting. They were unbelievable. Above and beyond. Worst case scenario was spending a ton of money to fix an underground POTENTIAL leak - that was not something we wanted to do, of course. David helped me do some sleuthing and he found the likely problem. I just called the gas company and they re-tested and found we are all clear. David saved us so much aggravation and stress!!! Our A/C went out on 9/5 in the evening, so we called Brea/Orange county plumbing, heating and A/C the next morning at 7:30. Technicians arrived that same day at 3:00 and within an hour the unit was repaired. They showed us the problem and explained everything that was going to be done. The response time was great considering the heat wave this week. The technicians were very polite and efficient. We used this same company last year when our water heater broke. When it comes time to replace the A/C unit we will certainly give this company the business. read more

Called and someone came out within 30 minutes. They supposedly fixed the problem, said it was due to roots. Now, one week later to the day, same issue. No water nor a working toilet. No emergency work due to short staffing apparently. Even though it says on their website that it states that their specialty is that they are committed to prompt and reliable services anytime, day or night. I guess except if you have an emergency. I've used Brea/OC services a few times during last 7-8 years for our own house and a rental property we have and we've always been very happy with their services. We've bought a new water heater, fixing our own furnace and most recently asking them to fix the AC at our rental property a few days ago. The scheduling lady is very patient and helpful. Also, the technician, Tony, was very professional and knowledgeable and was able to diagnose the problem and fix it very quickly. The next day after the service, I had a question about the charges and called their office. The lady told me that she'll look into it and talk to the manager and will get back to me, and she exactly did that in about an hour or so. We recently had a slab leak in our house which was really stressful. We initially had a different plumber come out and were shocked with how much it was going to cost to fix the issue. I am so thankful we had Brea Plumbing come out for a second opinion on the advice of a trusted friend as they came in at half the cost of the original plumbers cost and we were then able to repipe the entire house vs. just bypassing the leak. I have unfortunately had mixed results with this company. Several years ago I had them replace a pipe from the bathroom going into the garage. Two years later, the leak was much worse. When they came out, the pipe they had installed was clearly broken and glued together. I paid $600 to have it replaced again. Recently, I had them come out to repair a toilet. The charge was $270 for 2 parts. The toilet ran all night after the repair. When they came back, we were told that another part that was rusted and needed replacement couldn't be ordered. They did get it working again, but I wish they had just said "It would be less expensive to replace the toilet than repair it", as that is what we are going to have to do anyway. read more

Arrived late- took 3 hours to diagnose my thermostat - was banging away in my attic. Left debris on the floor by the attic hatch. My dog found the yellow cap and started choking on it this morning. He was supposed to change the filter in my hallway, looked at it this morning. He took the filter out and never replaced it. Well, that seemed like a simple task. It appears that Brea/Orange County Plumbing does not charge based on the work done but as much as they can based on your situation, such as, if you are in a bind, have repair/replacement service, live in a nice neighborhood, etc. A couple of weeks ago my water heater started to leak so I called my repair/replacement service, HomeServe. A little later I got a call from Brea/Orange County Plumbing and they scheduled to come out between 3 and 4 pm but showed up 1:30 pm when I was still at work. Luckily someone was home and they let them in the garage where the heater is. Had I been home I would not have agreed to the deal because I know a thing or two about these things. I have even installed a heater twice over the years but I am no longer up to the task because of my age. And that's why I had purchased repair/replacement service which turned out to be a bad deal. Brea Plumbing replaced the 50 gallon heater for $1750 which is around $400 more than it should have been for a basic heater. According to the technician (and online pricing) the heater costs around $800 and Brea's labor rate is $124/hr in their own words. It took them 2.5 hours to replace the heater including travel time. The supplies' cost was around $100. The heater they installed is a basic heater with only 6 year warranty. Water heaters typically come with 6, 9 or 12 year warranty. It's slimmer than the previous heater because it doesn't have has much insulation which means higher gas bills. Initially when I got the repair/replacement service the benefit was full cost of the repair/replacement. But some time later HomeServe reduced the benefit to $1000 max. I had paid HomeServe $750 dollars over the last 7 years and now I paid Brea Plumbing another $750. So my out of pocket total cost is $1500. In hind sight there was no benefit in having the repair/replacement service because one can get a 50 gallon water heater replaced for less than $1500. Obviously Brea Plumbing doesn't believe in repeat business! read more

Oh, my gosh. I E-MAILED my problem to Brea/Orange County Plumbing, describing it as accurately as I could. (I often prefer e-mails over phone calls.) Within minutes after I sent the e-mail, I received a phone call. It was, indeed, Brea/ Orange County Plumbing. I confirmed the problem and let them know I was available any time, including now, to set up an appointment to have someone take a look at it. Dominic was sent out and arrived about 30 minutes later... AND FIXED THE PROBLEM in TEN MINUTES! My shower had very little water pressure because the bottom faucet below busted a piece at the base of it. (Or something like that.) It turned out he had a replacement piece in his truck and literally less than ten minutes after he arrived my problem was solved and I was good to go.
