First they need to come see it and I told Katie, I needed a new remote because the owner died and there was no remote. She wrote an estimate for 2 guys for 1.5 hrs @ $310/hr And a new remote. They decided the motor didn't work so they ordered a new one, but did not leave the remote. Then when they came back, they brought the new motor but no REMOTE! But did remove the old motor and took it and the new one with them, since they didn't have a REMOTE! When I called Katie, she called me a liar, said I never ordered a remote, even though I can prove it was on the invoice. Then Jeff called to say I hurt her feelings...it's great that he stands by his employees, but not when they are dead wrong, and I can prove it! My general contractor Christian Construction, who did all the renovations on the home, came back after the job was done, and made recommendations. I felt two general contractors were better than one. I often do this with my projects. Taryn returned and corrected the issues. It was very easy to contact Jeff, who is related to the founder. It also helps to have two civil engineers in the family! Colmenares Lath & Plaster did the stucco work on my home in 2016. A few years in, I started…read morenoticing visible problems -- and now, nearly 8 years later, I'm dealing with over 100 nail pops at exterior corners and severe cracking in multiple areas. They came out once after I contacted them, but only patched a few of the lower areas and missed most of the damage. Later, through CSLB mediation, they offered to come back and patch everything again for $7,500 -- without addressing what I believe was the root cause: improper corner bead fastening, based on industry standards (ASTM C1063). The workmanship clearly didn't hold up, and I've been left with a major repair bill and no accountability. I've also filed a BBB complaint and am sharing this here to help other homeowners ask the right questions up front. If you're considering this company, be sure to ask specifically about their installation methods, fastener spacing, and how they handle issues that appear years later. I wouldn't hire them again.
