That said, they randomly closed almost a week ago and told us nothing. There's a paper sign on the door and a generic FB message citing "circumstances beyond their control." Have written to them, called multiple times... no response. I get it, things happen sometimes... but many of us are on recurring monthly memberships and pay a decent chunk of $ for a service we cannot use. I've disputed the 1/2 month charge that I'm out because of the sudden closure, and have reported to my CC company that no other charges should be allowed BUT I shouldn't have to do this. Someone should tell us something. There's a loyal customer base waiting for answers. Guess we have to take our business elsewhere...

I love Palm Beach Tan because they are open 7am-10pm every day. So, great hours! You can also go in whenever you want, no appointment necessary. So as soon as I got in, I appreciated that everything was super clean and open with plenty of sitting area if you are waiting PLUS they sell drinks like water/soda! This is really cool to me because I know there's times where you gotta wait for a tanning bed. As soon as I walked up to the desk, a friendly tanning consultant immediately greeted me when I came in. I loved how helpful and nice she was! She upsold me on getting the highest level diamond package which gets you unlimited spray tans & bed tans for $110 WITH 30% off products at sign up. She helped me find all the products I needed to get some beautiful color back to my skin. She helped me get both a face lotion, body tanning lotion, and a tan extender. Be prepared to spend about $60-$150 on a bottle of tanning bronzing lotion. It is definitely worth it though if you are able to afford it. You get what you pay for. She also helped me on figuring out which beds she recommended for my skin type/how long to be in them, etc. I really got the full package experience here. I didn't catch her name but the tanning consultant offered great advice and helpful information to refresh me on things. I just had to give her and palm beach tan a shout on this! The tanning lotion I bought at another location that I purchased on sale for $150 and she said it's okay brand, but I have this one for like $200. I just got tired of her not leaving me alone and trying to upgrade my package and products like a damn used car salesman. This was supposed to be my time to unwind and relax for the 8 minutes! LOL I chose to get a gym membership at Planet fitness for $25 unlimited tan and the beds are pretty high tech. I don't get harassed every time I walk in. And the package I got at Palm Beach was the most expensive for $149.99/month. I get the same tan for $25 and can take a friend everytime I tan or work out.

I specifically prefer supporting small, independently owned tanning salons over the big chains like Palm Beach, and I was hopeful I had finally found a hidden gem. Unfortunately, this was not the experience I was hoping for. From the moment I walked in, the service felt cold and dismissive. I purchased a single session with the intention of exploring a membership, and was simply told "it's $14", no introduction to the bed besides letting me know I may not see as much color, no walk through, nothing. I had to ask questions about which beds were mainly UVA and UVB and felt like I was bothering her. To top it off, there was lotion on the wall in the room I went into, which is a pretty basic cleaning standard that shouldn't be overlooked. When I finished my session and asked about membership options, I was told "it's on our website." That's it. I understand that information lives online these days, but a simple brochure with pricing or friendly conversation goes a long way. Referring a potential new member to a website instead of taking 60 seconds to engage with them is not good customer service...and I say that as someone who managed a tanning salon for five years. I know what the standard looks like, and this wasn't it. Wasted time and money. It's genuinely disappointing because I want to support businesses like this one and my mother in law was even going to come back with me so we could both get memberships, but I probably won't be returning unless they improve customer service. I was looking forward to buying a one time session, lotion, and monthly membership and instead left the salon feeling like I was potentially being profiled or wasn't a client they wanted.
