I just used Pacific West Tree Care for the 3rd time in the last 9 months. First for 2 palm trees trimming, then removal of a fig tree, and major shrub/hedge trimming with my neighbor, and yesterday, major back yard trimming of trees and hedges. After 50 years in this home, using maybe 8-10 different companies, this is the best ever. Fair price, owner,Alex did the estimate himself, and work was done the next day . Alex, owner, showed up on time, very important to me, and gave me a terrific quote. Andrew and Fernando, showed up today on time, again apprecieted. 2 Palm trees, planted in 1954, trimed to my requirements very quickly. They were gone in less than 45 minutes, and cleaned up so nicely, you can't belive anyone was here. I'm 80 years old, and after 49 years here, I don't think my wife and I are going anywhere. I brought Alex, the company arborist, out to investigate a diseased 30-year-old pine tree. Sure enough, it was the victim of the bark beetle and had to be chopped down. But this tree was nearly 30-years-old and located up a steep slope in the corner of my backyard - only accessible from the front street and up some 30 steps! I was on pins-and-needles trying to figure out how they were going to cut the pine tree down. But they did - quickly and effortlessly - and at a very reasonable price! We had six estimates for the removal of two large trees, deep roots, and leveling the lawn to lay sod. Alex and his son gave us a good estimate, not the lowest, but his expertise showed the concern of the tough part, the extensive roots system. His team was very professional and knew what they were doing. They took out the two trees very expertly being attentive to power lines, and neighbors roses. They had to bring in a tractor and router to get the stumps and roots out, then removed layers of dirt to level out the lawn. They accidentally nicked one brick and immediately called and had a mason repair it! I have been using Pacific West Tree Care for over 17 years and do not know why I haven't written a review earlier! Over the years, I have had several services completed by this remarkable company. Alex, is an ISA Certified Arborist that is vastly knowledgeable, experienced and an expert in his profession. Alex provided a competitive estimate, presented me with options for tree care needs and answered questions. He is patient, accommodating and provides his professional opinion. Alex identified that 2 of the Birch trees in my yard had has insects that were causing damage to the trees. Alex, provided Tree Health Care Maintenance to keep the trees in good health. The crew has removed a large Palm Tree and a Carrotwood Tree in my yard. Both trees were removed complete with stumps in one visit. Both trees were located nearby to the pool and pool fence, brick planters around the perimeter of tree trunks and electrical landscape lighting fixtures. They did great work and there was no damage to fence, pool, bricks, lighting fixtures or any of the surrounding plants. The crew took care to remove all debris off the lawn and remove any debris from the pool. The Carrotwood Tree removal was necessary, as the roots were causing cracks on the pool deck and issues with pool plumbing. Also, Pacific West Tree Care has trimmed and maintained a massive Ash Tree at my father's home that was about 80 to 100 feet tall. The artistic trimming technique created a beautiful canopy that allowed light to move down through the crown to the lower limbs. Not to mention, ease our mind over winter weather that may have caused issues if the tree had not been properly maintained. The crews are skilled, extremely efficient, trained and equipped to work safely and plainly display safety as a top priority. One item to be mindful of is as with most service providers, arrival times may vary a bit as a result of the job before yours. Over the years I have only had one slight delay in the arrival time of the work crew. It was a non-issue for such great work with a high level of professionalism focused on customer satisfaction. read more

Alex an arborist you got to be kidding.needed oak tress and other trees removed, Alex says no problem. a month or two later he comes on sight to clear trees, starts work then tells me I need to call city to confirm that he can remove trees, keep in mine I'm in county and I told him this when we first talked, I get on hold with county and wait. now hold on is this my job or his as and arborist? so I stay on hold, finally they tell me go ahead take the oak trees out there on my property. But no verbal is not good for Alex and he did'nt tell me to get it in writing at first, back to hold with county to get in writing, county sends A statement that I can remove trees on private property.But no this is not good enough for Alex. he want's it to say clearly can remove Oak Trees, back on hold again and Just guess what they said this time? NO!!!! and your arborist should know this. if I knew there was going to be a problem up front I could have taken care of it with county witch I did and had another company take care removing Oak Trees. Based on the other glowing reviews on this site you would think that they are good at what they do. I have had nothing but issues with Alex and his office. I called several weeks ago to book an appt. At first it was great. The office said that they would be out that day. I waited at home all day for him to show up. As I was about to call and find out what happened I got an email from the office saying that they gave me an appt for the next day. I called the office back and said no...I can't be home the next day we agreed on today. I can only be home on Monday's. So we booked for the next Monday at the same time...noon. At 9:00am I ran out to get something at the store which took 10 minutes. I was surprised when I got home to find that Alex had come and left his card. No phone call to see if I was in the shower or something. Nothing. No warning and they didn't send the confirmation email I had received the week earlier. When I called the office to say I had only been gone 10 minutes AND that the appt was for later in the day they pretty much said "oh well". Why someone didn't call my phone is ridiculous. So they had me wait all day to see if he could get time in his schedule to come back. I waited and waited past the times they said he would come only to find out he isn't coming at all. They wanted to see if I wanted him to come in another week. No! Absolutely not. I will call someone else who actually wants my business. read more
