I was disappointed that my steak that I asked for rare came out medium. I feel like a steakhouse should be able to get the temperature correct on the first try and the jump from very rare to medium isn't a subtle one. The caviar flight was nice but not very beautifully plated. The crabcake was fresh, but again not very beautifully presented. Overall the food was pretty good. The view was extraordinary, but I honestly went in with higher expectations especially at that price point. read more

Ambience is nice - located inside the Ritz Carlton - all the way pass the pool. The hotel itself is amazing . Food is good. I would say - not above any high end steak house. We ordered a bunch of various starters and sides. The beef tartare was good and the oyster were the medium sized pacific coast oysters- were ok - not raving about it. The Wagyu steak were cooked to perfection. The sides were meehhh... the truffle fries was soggy and no truffles on it - just truffle oil. The mushrooms were plain Jane - just regular button mushrooms. The broccolini was just grilled wit salt and pepper. Our waitress was nice - but definitely needs to be oriented a bit more. Service was great. Only thing I will say is that I booked pretty far in advance and asked for a windows seat and was not accommodated, sadly... and we were staying at the hotel. The views are amazing I will say so that's why we wanted a closer seat to the windows. Once seated we were given bourbon samples and we ended up ordering Manhattans. Drinks are good. We ordered the 16oz ribeye and scallops for main dishes. They accommodated out requests and were mindful of our allergies. We ordered a great starters as well, notable were the tiger prawns. They've meaty and tasty. A little tough though. The ribeye was very tasty although bot the best I've had, my favorite ribeye hands down is form Mastros. Not even close. The carrots and potato puree for sides were my favorite. Overall service was great, but don't think I'll ve back to the steakhouse. We can get way better for the price point and experience. Overall, I'm very torn about my review for The Edge. On one hand, we had really excellent service the entire night. We came for our family Christmas dinner and they were packed. The staff did a good job at keeping us comfortable despite long waits for food. The atmosphere and views are also really excellent. However, I must say I didn't love all of the food. They had a Prix Fix menu for Christmas and it just wasn't my kind of food. The steak, a Japanese Wagyu, was one of my favorite things ever, but the other 3 courses just weren't that exciting. I had a crab soup that was good, but not mind blowing, an artichoke heart dish that was just ok, and a flan for dessert that was just average. The cocktails were excellent (the old fashioned and manhattan were standouts) and the wine list was equally so. We found the menu to be pretty standard steakhouse fare done uncommonly well. The A5 Wagyu beef and the USDA prime ribeye were absolutely top notch. The only sad thing about the food menu was that they were out of the Spanish octopus, but hey, gotta save something for next time right? Upon entering, we were greeted by an incredibly kind host, and the service throughout the night matched. Everybody down to the folks who refilled water were prompt, kind, and personal. The ambiance of The Edge was a bit of a surprise. While I picture it being lux and polished, I was surprised by the intimate footprint and the gorgeous views. As evidenced by the number of birthdays and anniversaries, Edge is best suited for special events and date nights. Drinks at Edge were phenomenal. They are one of the few restaurants I have been to which provided a "first taste" of two of their popular drinks. After, I enjoyed my own old fashioned and my wife enjoyed a nonalcoholic mocktail. The Edge generally had excellent food. My wife and I had the wagyu filet which was phenomenal and one of the more memorable steaks I have had. The sides were good, but the under-seasoned mushrooms were not memorable. Further the amuse bouche was forgettable. With that said, our baked Alaska was amazing and, frankly, hard to find at steakhouses. Now, a warning, even by steakhouse standards, the Edge is pretty pricey. I assume its location in the middle of Palm Springs drives some higher procurement costs. As such expect $200pp. All on, I highly recommend the Edge steakhouse. Came here recently for a Friday night meal. Pros: Service was impeccable and fast, all the staff was extremely attentive. Drinks were very good. The view is well known and was definitely a highlight. The bread roll they bring out is stellar and was a true highlight of the meal. Con: The pricing here is extremely high for what ended up as average steaks. $95 for a 6 ounce filet and $165 for a ribeye is high and I expected to be wowed...I was not wowed. Far from it. The steaks are advertised as Prime and maybe I just had a sub par cut but I would have felt over charged paying $65 for this steak, much less $100 more. Everyone in our group agreed the food was "ok" but after spending close to $1000 for dinner for 4, it's hard to just feel "ok" about the meal. Without some kind of significant revamp to the menu or pricing I would 100% not come back when there are so many other options. read more

Firstly at $250 per person you would think they would know how to cook a steak. Starting with the $28 salad - no dressing except a a few drops. Goat cheese, another teaspoon all on top of dry lettuce. Basically an awful dry salad. The steak ordered medium rare came blue red cold in the middle. Then, when returned to the kitchen it came back on a 500 degree plate and cooked well done. All this for only $150 per steak with no sides, no vegetable, nothing. I don't mind the price but they can't cook a steak to save their lives. Staff offered to replace either another enter after everyone was finished with their dinner. They are complete idiots and the kitchen is incompetent. Absolutely horrible. The service was good but a little too chatty and intrusive. Why would anybody eat here? Avoid at all costs. read more

We got the Manhattan, Smokey Bee, and Wren. The prices are high and that's to be expected considering the location. I don't mark points off for that as long as the food and service are commensurate to the cost. The problem here is that the food was below expectations. The medium rare steak came out medium. We sent it back and it came back closer to rare than medium rare. Keep in mind either steak would have been acceptable if it were not for the fact that it was over 100 bucks for a NON dry aged USDA prime steak. The scallops were fishier than expected and that to me says it's not as fresh as I should be The salmon was not bad The pork chop was suppose to be medium but came out well done which i prefer anyways so I guess that worked out. I should have read the reviews before I went. We chose this place since it was close to a concert venue we were attending after dinner. The view was wonderful as was the service we received the entire time. Unfortunately, while the food was presented beautifully and it tasted great (mostly), the prices were outrageous! For a tiny 6 ounce filet I paid $95. It was okay. Not bad, but not amazing. And for $95 it should have been amazing! My hubby ordered a ribeye and it was sad and tough and cost $165. All sides were extra. Not to mention the basic drinks that were $28 each. Soooo needless to say, we will never go back. Especially when I know of many far more delicious places in the same (and surrounding) areas that are waaay more affordable. The only thing that made this place get three stars instead of one, was the friendly, inviting, attentive and wonderful staff. read more

Scott was an excellent server, and we really appreciated his knowledge of the local indigenous tribes and their influence on the menu (ask about the bread, made with mesquite flour!). He recommended the crab cake and the octopus, both of which exceeded our expectations (we are picky about crab cakes being majority crab, and octopus being cooked correctly - Scott was too), and the stunner of the meal was the seafood tower. Everything was delicious! We requested an outside table - it was 100+ degrees during the day, but once the sun set and there was a light breeze, it felt like private dining because everyone else was indoors. What a splendid experience from start to end. The host was so pleasant and made our night by seating us with a view. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary. She made a note of me being pregnant and told the waiter, reason being they greet you with sample cocktails -after being seated. The waiter Eric was amazing as was his cowaitress Mia. They were very attentive and polite. The food was really great! The steak was cooked to perfection, the sautéed mushrooms were phenomenal as were the beef fat truffle fries. They provided us with a celebratory slice of chocolate cake and some chocolate truffles and jelly- which were also very very tasty. I highly recommend a dine out here! The service was outstanding, the dining room is beautiful, and the views of the valley below are fantastic. My one and only complaint, there should be a dress code. Most people came in dressed appropriately for a high end dining experience. I know it's not a 3 star Michelin restaurant, but come on, how hard is it to put on something decent. Because there apparently is no dress code, all I could do was laugh at some slob who came in wearing a grungy looking long sleeve shirt, a bathing suit, calf high tube socks with stripes at the top, and sandals that looked like converted army boots. I'm sure he thought he looked like he some cool influencer, but really he just looked ridiculous. At least his date made some effort to dress appropriately. They were super salty and over cooked and didn't even taste like scallops! Went here last week over Thanksgiving weekend, and still thinking about it. I wanted to go to a nice classy restaurant, that served steaks, had great service, and just a good overall ambiance, because it was my wife's birthday as well. I did a search using Grok with this criteria, and this was one of the five restaurants that was recommended. I then went to Yelp and looked at photographs of the interior, and quickly eliminated 3 of the 5. The other restaurant was located on the strip in Downtown Palm Springs, where our hotel was located. Initially we were leaning toward that restaurant so we wouldn't have to drive, but we hadn't driven our whole stay, so we opted to drive 20 minutes to this fine establishment, and I'm glad we did. Upon arrival we were taken care of promptly. We were seated, not at the window, but just a row over and it was just as nice. Our waiter brought us complimentary old fashions. The drinks were brought over on a small cake dish, and when he removed the dome, all the smoke came out, and yes the drinks were nice and smoky. We then proceeded to order drinks on our own and had some bread to go with it. My wife opted for a glass of champagne, and I had a cocktail. The drink I ordered was the "Smoke N Berries", a Mezcal based cocktail. When the drink was brought out, it had a large bubble encompassing the top of the glass. I could see the bubble was holding smoke inside the glass, which I really appreciated, because Mezcal is supposed to be smoky compared to Tequila. The waiter placed a small plate next to me with a rigid garnish, that I was to use to pop the bubble, than stir the drink with. Such a great small detail, I was so impressed like a little kid. What a treat, I just wanted to enjoy looking at it before I popped it and sipped. Of course I had to do it, and I was curious if it was as good as it looked, and YES it was. I ended up ordering second glass later on during the night. For dinner we started out with caviar. I'm not a huge fan of caviar, but my wife wanted it, and after all we were there for her birthday. The eggs were brought out on ice, along with several types of dipping sauces. They brought us little two inch in diameter bread, to be used to eat the caviar with. In the past I've eaten caviar with crackers, so this was different for me. For the main course my wife ordered salmon, and I ordered the 16oz Ribeye medium well. We ordered two sides, that our waiter recommended. One of the sides was mushrooms, and I'm drawing a blank on the second one right now. Everything was so delicious, however, we were stuffed and knew we weren't going to look at the dessert menu. We had made our reservation through Open Table, and indicated that we were celebrating a birthday. The waiter brought out a nice dessert with a candle on it. Sadly this was the only picture I took of the night, so I'm unable to share any pictures of the rest of the experience.
