Amazing views, absolute terrible service. We spent the last 45 minutes chatting and making small talk. Is there a reason why it would take that long for clam chowder to come out? Similar to other reviews, the plate was pipping hot which means its been sitting underneath a heat lamp. This place is upscale, very classy looking but its very clear that internally, this place is a mess. This food was not worth the wait. It's mediocre at best. You only get two stars for the view. You need to train your wait staff better. **also, can you guys explain why a table who sat next to us, way after we ordered, received their food within 15 mins?** To the general manager, lets cut the crap with the "thank you for your feedback, we will share your comments with the staff to improve for the future" Obviously, you guys didnt learn or "improve" from the other views left here from the past. I find it incredibly insulting that every POC has to wait 45+ mins for their order and food while everyone else is getting it in a very timely manner. Can't believe the view! Pacific Edge is the perfect name, you literally feel like you're on top of the world! I had the crab cake sandwich with fries and was happy with the large portion size! The main reason you want to come here is because of the ambiance and the view. It has an amazing view overseeing a cliff with the ocean waves hitting the coast. Pictures doesn't do it justice to be honest with you. Onto to the food, we got the blackened halibut sandwich with fries and the lobster ravioli. The blackened halibut sandwich was delicious and not too overpowering fishy. The lobster ravioli was a bit too salty, creamy and rich for our liking. The French fries were way too salty to eat. We got the sorbet for desserts which really helped saved the day because it was very refreshing and cleansed our palate from the fattiness and saltiness of the previous dishes. The flavor was great, and it wasn't too salty and I always have trouble with the consistency of the soup, but this was just right. The shrimp was a little bit too salty for my taste and a little overbearing. The Mussels were sooo good. This was definitely very light, refreshing and flavorful. I should've ordered double the plate. And finally, Crab cake burger ! Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with the crab cake because I felt like it needed a little bit more flavor. Worst experience with super rude staff! We made sure to make reservation online and on the phone requesting window seats as we were celebrating very special occasion. When we walked in, the lady who was sitting guests was all smiling at the group before us and when she was us, all smile was gone and she rudely asked us about the reservation and took us to very small table. I told her we made request for window sitting and can wait but she was like oh that gonna take veeery long time. We sat down at totally different table but saw only few minutes later people coming in and sitting next to the windows (like 3-4 tables suddenly came available) Food is nothing special it was below average. Service is horrible, we were left as soon as the food was served until we finished our dinner and needed to wait for the bill for 20min. Everyone got water with lemon and whatnot but we were just given plain water even when we asked for lemon water. Will not recommend and will not come back read more

We have dined at Pacific's Edge over the years but never for dinner! We are renting a home nearby and needed a quick dinner reservation but wanted to avoid golf tournament traffic in Pebble Beach. We arrived, parked easily and were seated although early for our reservation. We dined also with our 4 month old in his carseat. Dining with a baby can bring various reactions but every staff we encountered were welcoming and happy to see us with a baby (who luckily was quiet throughout our meal). We enjoyed cocktails, shared the beet salad and calamari to start then the mushroom risotto and Cioppino. Service was attentive but casual. Our server Chris really made our experience memorable. Honestly we were excited to come here, the front staff was super polite and accommodating me and my family, the views and ambiance of the restaurant were amazing and we all were happy. That is until our condescending waiter showed up. From the onset Tony rushed us for ordering, treated us like we couldn't afford to eat there by arrogantly stating that garlic fries were an additional charge with my steak frites. He never checked on our table , I was the only one out of four who received a refill on my Pepsi then he had the audacity to circle a tip option on our receipt. When you make a reservation at a restaurant you generally know what you're going to spend. Sit shouldn't matter if you have high end designer clothes or speak Italian. We drove 3 hours for a family day and decided to spend our lunch time here after seeing great reviews. Our food and drinks were amazing but our server was NOT. I believe his name was Tony, he was an older man. He was a lot nicer to those others around us when interacting. When my husband asked for garlic fries for his stake and Frits he immediately said "that's a $4 charge" in a condensing tone. When I looked over and said "okay" he immediately left. He hardly came to check on us but continuously checked on the table next to us, which I realized was because they looked more "high end". The only thing giving Pacific Edge any stars is the stunning view. The restaurant is right in the edge of the coast with unobstructed view of the ocean. So beautiful! The food on the other hand...pretty bad. The worst offender was the clam chowder. It has the consistency of mashed potatoes, far from what a chowder should be. The calamari was average. We were excited for the Point Lobos Benedict with avocado and Dungeness crab. Huge bummer that the poached eggs were more like hard boiled eggs. The berry salad was essentially a bag of spinach with fruit thrown on top - nothing special. I actually enjoyed the halibut sandwich. The fish was heavily seasoned with good toppings and sauce. That would be the only dish I would order again. Staff were laid back and friendly. Mostly left us alone which occasionally made it hard to get anyone's attention. I wouldn't recommend Pacific Edge to anyone. We all felt a little queasy after lunch - yikes. Instead just stop by the hotel for an incredible view and maybe a quick drink. read more

I think the view itself is gold. Most of the table got amazing ocean view. The menu has very limited and traditional items, but every single one is perfectly prepared. The latte is served in a European way and love the presentation, this really makes my smile for a morning coffee. The mushroom risotto is also very delicious, and the truffle oil is just the right amount the lift the whole package. I think the restaurant is a little pricy but does provide decent food and drink. An amazing place to stop for brunch along the 17 mile drive! It's a trek to get to but the views are so worth it! Highly suggest snagging a table outside on a sunny day. They take reservations so you should be able to request outdoors if you want to plan ahead. I don't know how this place doesn't have 5 stars but the waiters were incredibly kind and accommodating to our larger party of 6. It's of course pricey, but my scramble was delicious. What an amazing meal. We started with the Lobster Bisque (special) and it was the best soup I have ever had in my life. The Braised Short Rib main was so tender it just fell apart when your fork touched it. The best short rib I've ever had and the potato puree and pickled onions added so much texture and flavour my mouth was quivering. The server told me its been on their menu for over 20 years and it makes a-lot of sense. The wine selection is vast with lots of good options in any price range. OMG....YOU DO NOT MESS WITH ANCHOVIES. I'm a HUGE anchovy fan, especially with my Caesar salad. Hubby and I came here for lunch from a friends recommendation, I immediately saw on the menu "Caesar salad" and you that the salad would include anchovies. We were seated within a reasonable amount of time and as soon as we sat down, it took several minutes before somebody took our drink order. I was very surprised because two servers came by and made eye contact with me and yet neither of them made an effort to take my drink order. We finally found out who our server was after a couple of minutes he took our drink order and as soon as he came back took our food order. Within minutes, we got our salad and looked very appetizing. I took one bite of the anchovy and oh my God, they pickled the anchovy. I could taste the vinegar on the anchovy. What the hell!!! you do not mess with anchovies. They have their own distinctive taste and flavor. it was so pale it looks like slugs. if anyone knows about "schoolhouse rock" in the 80s, "don't drown your food"... They literally drowned the salad with dressing. we ordered crab meat along with our salad... ($20 per person crab meat with a portion of 2 tablespoons). It was a good choice though. It changes the flavor of the Caesar salad. But everything else pretty much thumbs down. Not to mention, one of their staff member kept using a binocular looking out to the ocean while in uniform instead of working. Which was interesting. I felt a little odd also that a couple of their server kept watching me like a hawk, like I was about to steal something. Will we return? Definitely not! The Ambiance is the the star of the show. This is the most beautiful restaurant I have ever ate at to date. The food wasn't great and service was okay but the view made up for it 100%. I will say their calamari was really good but our entrees took about 40 minutes to come out. You can see the sun was out when we got there and ordered and the food didn't come out until sundown. Watching the sunset from our table though was spectacular though so I just have a lot of mixed feelings. The pairing of the halibut and polenta just wasn't to our liking. The polenta's excessive creaminess really takes away from the halibut which could've been better seasoned and lacked flavor. The ribeye was a complete let down for $65. The piece of steak I got was that super hard to eat chewy fatty part, but it felt like the entire steak was that way. It also didn't help that the knife was too dull to cut through it. The best thing I ate here was the calamari and the mash potato side on the ribeye plate which is sad for such a beautiful restaurant. The fries were not worth the price don't get them. Again like all my reviews, to each their own. Maybe the chefs just weren't having a great night and things got backed up. Server was okay, nothing special or extraordinary, and did leave us alone for a while. The bussers and the food runners did make sure our waters were refilled very often though so kudos to them. Overall, come for the views.. maybe grab a drink (I was going to drive 3 hours home so I didn't) but don't spend too much on the food it isn't worth the price. read more

We had dinner here. I have to say that everything we had was prepared perfectly. Started with the street corn appetizer. It was prepared so that the topping was crispy but not burnt. The taste was amazing. The flavor of the corn came through in each bite and you could tell the difference between the charred and creamed corn inside. For the entree, my wife had a mushroom risotto. If the mushrooms are not cooked correctly they can become rubbery. These were perfect without the flavor being overwhelming. I had the halibut. I am very picky about my fish and have had halibut at many restaurants. This preparation was one of the best I have ever had. My wife had a Bailey's and coffee that was perfect for her. They even brought more whipped cream when she asked for it. I had a spicy mezcal margarita that was the perfect blend of spicy and not overpowering. Now for the service. Our server Fredric (I may have misspelled his name and the receipt only said T7) was very attentive to our needs.
