On Friday, I booked a move for today 10/19, 1-3 PM. At 12:16 PM Melvin called stating a driver would be reaching out to me soon. Melvin called back at 2:46 and said "yeah our guys are just backed up right now and won't be able to get to you until some hours, can you take a priority move for tomorrow?". After I said I could not, Melvin stated he was going to reach out to his "sister company" to get additional assistance. At 2:52 Edward called and casually stated "This is Edward, we'll be there in an hour". At 4:31 I called Melvin back and asked him what was the update with the sister company. He stated "let me call them and see". He called back less than 2 minutes later and casually said "yea our guys had an emergency on the way to you nobody is going to be able to move you today." This company treated me as if I was the problem when I paid for a service they were not able to render. Melvin knew at 2:46 PM they were not going to provide services, yet kept me waiting hoping I would settle for a "priority move" Monday. They were not apologetic about inconveniencing me, letting me know they do not think they are replaceable. read more

This moving company is great. First they'll come at least 1-2 hours late then they will begin complaining that the furniture is too heavy and they may not be able to lift it up to the next location. Next they'll will break your furniture in front of you and tell you that the it was previously broken and they will document it. Then they'll give up on dismantling furniture and make their customer help them with dismantling the furniture. I think this company is great at doing half ass jobs so keep that in mind when you hire this company if you are brave enough. At first, I gave this company a three star review, however, now I am updating this review to give them 1 star. Anthony J, presumably the owner/manager, is the least professional person I have ever encountered. I just got off the phone with him because he asked to speak to me on the phone after I requested a final electronic invoice. Not only did he tell me that there is no such thing as an electronic invoice, but he, refused to send me anything. He then, literally, called me a "liar" multiple times because of the review that I wrote. I told him that everything I wrote was truthful and the quote was much less than what was requested at the end of the move and that was not a lie. I also reminded him that the company had and still has issues with professionalism, which him not providing an invoice and calling me a "liar" on the phone, was a "case in point". He then said he didn't care and was "calling me out for being a liar". Then he hung up on me. I feel bad for Anthony. He clearly doesn't know how to run a business in a professional manner, to the detriment of his reputation, company, and employees. What he should do is do everything possible to make an electronic invoice, apologize, and then maybe get some training on how to be professional and run a business. It shouldn't be a surprise to Anthony though, he has multiple bad reviews now. If I could give zero stars I would. -hours late -numerous hidden fees -rude dispatcher -charged basically $500 for 3 hours of work and zero set up. This was a 1 bedroom apartment move. Couch, bed, and dresser. Less than 8 medium sized boxes My time frame was set from 1-3pm. At 1pm, I received a call that they would be late due to rain. Cool, no problem. My second time from was 2-4. 4pm hits and I haven't heard or seen anyone. I call and speak to the dispatcher. He says he gave my request to the drivers and he would call to see where they're at. At 4:07pm I receive a call from the driver. He asked me how many boxes I had and what exactly needed to be moved. I thought this was weird as I already told this information when I booked the move but whatever. He says he'll be 30 minutes. 5pm comes around and no one is here. I call the dispatch again who is very rude, tries to insult my intelligence, and just all around sucky. 5:17 the workers arrive. They ask if I want my furniture wrapped. I say yes. They tell me there's additional fees for wrapping and tapping which is ridiculously weird because the dispatcher told me that wrapping was included. I call the dispatcher again and he is ridiculous saying that at no point did he say supplies were included and just all around has a rude attitude. At this point , I'm like ok whatever just wrap it and let's go. I remind the workers that my couch is going to a separate location that is 20 minutes away. The drivers have no idea about this even though when spoke to Henry (not sure if owner or dispatcher) and booked the service, he said it would be no issue it'll just be added on with the hourly charge. The workers start to mention an additional fee and I tell them the conversation I had with Henry. They wrap the couch and continue working. As they're packing and moving my items, the driver gets into the vehicle with the back open and dishes inside and stacked on top of each other and begins to adjust the truck. Dishes were not strapped down. Luckily the boxes didn't fall. At about 7:11, We finally get to my next apartment wish is literally six minutes away and the driver starts to go over my charges. He tells me at 7:18, the third hour is charged. Supplies come to an additional $69. This includes blankets, tape, and wrap. He then proceeds to tell me that the time does not stop until they get back to the office. At this point I'm 3 hours into the move and he's estimating an additional 2 hours to drop the couch (23 minutes away) and his drive back to the office. Mind you I only have a bedroom set and the couch. I have a mattress, bed frame, and a dresser. Nothing else aside from the couch. My total is over $500 at this point with no items put back together. This +$500 is for labor, supplies, drive time including their drive back to the office, and taxes. For three hours of work. Zero set up. I tell them to just leave the couch at my place and I'll put the bed together myself since I'm well over my budget. My final bill is $467 I believe. I paid cash since they charge an additional fee for cards. I paid $467 for them to move a couch, a bed, a dresser and a few boxes up the street. My bed is not put back together nor was my couch was not delivered to it's intended destination. The workers were fine. The company is horrible. I will never in life book with them again or recommend them. I spent basically $500 for absolutely nothing. read more

First ofthis company does not care about corona the movers did not wear their mask they kept it around their chin every chance they got. They milked the clock and had us pay nearly 800 dollars for a two bedroom apartment. For perspective the workers arrived and instantly went and used my restroom for like 30 mins and they didn't move a single thing to the truck for the first hour. The movers even hit our mail and drove off when I spoke to pack it movers about it the manager blew it off said they were looking into it but stopped responding to my texts or answering calls. I am not one to leave reviews, especially bad ones, but the customer service I received was so terrible I would never want anyone to experience what I did. I hired this company thinking it would make my life easier when instead it made it worse. They broke my tv and when I called them to let them know the owner, or whoever the guy that handled everything, said there was nothing he could do because I don't have proof that they broke it when I literally saw how the movers broke it and explained it to him. He said he'd "send it to their insurance but they most likely won't do anything about it". He didn't even care or ask for a picture of it or NOTHING. Unfortunately, I hired the movers to move all my stuff into storage so who knows what else they broke. I'm honestly extremely nervous for when I move all my stuff out of storage to see any other damage. I had a decent experience with the company the first time around which is why I made the mistake of using them again. My second experience with them explains their F rating with the BBB website. They called around 11AM to confirm my move and explained they would arrive at 1PM. I told them my appointment was at 3PM and they confirmed. After waking up early and driving 4 hours from Dallas to arrive on time, they were nowhere to be found. In fact, they arrived over 3 hrs late.They were so late that the apartment office closed and I had to have my roommate pick up my keys and packages ahead of time. When I called to get compensated for a breech of agreement, the manager merely said, "that's business". Seriously? All that aside, I wouldn't have bothered to write this review if he was more professional in his demeanor. After a short conversation with him, he threatened to take all my possessions and demanded immediate cash payment. Must not be the first time something like this has happened... I can't even imagine all the contested charges he must have encountered in the past. That alone should raise red flags. DO NOT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THIS! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! They supposed to be there between 8-10 am. Received a text at 9:30 stating the were on their way and the driver would call. Minutes later got a call from Marvin stating there was an emergency with one of the drivers and it would be around noon. I had removed food from the two fridges for the "by 10am" arrival into coolers only to now take all of the coolers to my new house and buy ice to ice them down. After 12 pm we were told they would be arriving between 1:30 and 2:00 pm. At 2:15 pm I got a call from a driver stating he was finishing their job and would be on their way. I said from where? Cypress, I said that will take you two hours from there. Very frustrated, I said go ahead and start this way but I'll be calling your boss, the driver said he was just told about this job. The owner blamed the driver and said he had my profile for a while, said he was putting me on hold and hung up on me. At 2:30 pm he called back and said the driver would be there before 3:30 pm. At 3:35 pm they showed up. The three movers were excellent and very understanding as to why we were angry. I said tell your boss about the $200 plus worth of food that is ruined, plus the 6 extra hours we were put out by waiting. Right before the truck was empty, they wanted me to pays - he called my credit card in to the guy would had been calling me all day and I said I can't believe this company does business this way and no I am sorry from the owner and provided a discount for the food that ruined by the 6 hour wait, the driver said he didn't charge you the travel fee of $150, I am like from cypress when I was the first move of the day and that fee was not on my quote, only the $79 dollar fee for a trip charge. I said no worries, this is what reviews are for. I probably have more ruined meat but put it in the fridge and will see later. Please never use Pack It Movers. The moving guys were very professional and accommodating, high praise for them but the guy running it, if not the boss, should be canned. read more

I waited all day for them to show up just for them to inform me hours after the time frame scheduled was passed that they had to cancel due to rain, when it was not even raining. Tried to reschedule for the next day but they said they do not work past 4. Went with another company as I could not trust they would actually show up this time. Anthony Johnson who is apparently the owner is highly unprofessional and refuses to give me back my deposit when they never showed for the job. I booked it over a month in advance and also called to confirm the day before. I emailed him multiple times to try to get my deposit back and I talked to him on the phone as well. I don't know how many cross-country trips I had to make in the military and my items arrived at its destination in the same condition it left. All these guys had to do was move my belongings less than a mile in the same town. First, they were a little over an hour late. My bedroom furniture was scratched most likely because they cut corners in properly disassembling it (see picture) But is what really upset me was the condition of my 6-month-old bed (see picture) Maybe had they not been high on pot, a little more consideration would have been taken to the common-sense notion that you don't take a white mattress and shove it in a filthy moving truck without plastic or blankets. To have rejected them for this reason would have cost me a lot of money. This was very preventable. If they didn't have the proper equipment to move it, I had blankets and a mattress cover I could have placed on it. Bedding is a lot easier to clean than a mattress. When I contacted the manager, Joe, he said I signed the receipt that declined the insurance. Sure did, it was offered AFTER the move and this had nothing to do with insurance. Insurance insures ACCIDENTS. This wasn't an accident, it was total negligence on the part of his movers and he offered no compensation. Strangely, they wouldn't touch my 55" TV, yet my bed was far more expensive. Lesson learned, inspect your belongings before movers leave or have someone babysit them. Shouldn't have to because that's not the service we pay for, but unfortunately, that's the only way to protect yourself. read more

Ive dealt with this company a total of 2 times. My first experience was out of this world (the 2movers are the only reason.for the 2 stars) the mover I distinctly remember his name was Marquis- however I cannot recall the second movers name :( both were extremely professional, efficient, fast and worked very well in conjunction with my husband to get my house packed and put into storage. My second experience was this past weekend. They call 15 minutes before they are supposed to show up to tell me that one of the three guys cannot make it. Furthermore the two guys I do show up start the day off by complaining that this is going to take way too long... I struggled to keep their attitude from interfering with my excitement about moving. It was evident in their attitude to the we're working slower as well and so I did tell them after 4 hours to stop because I wanted to get home at a decent hour. Then they waste an hour trying to Bill me before they unload.... and while unloading none of the boxes are put the correct rooms(in a 1200sq ft apartment) even though I spent an hour color coding them. My complaints were handled with a crass attitude and the question "what do you want me to do about it" I agree that movers can be a bit of a mixed bag but the customer service was just as bad as my second experience with this company I wouldn't recommend anybody else using it either. read more

Absolutely do not use their services. The manager, Joe, will guarantee you one price just to get your business then try to increase the price by at least $50. Once you arrive at your destination, 10 minutes of Your time will be wasted while the driver speaks with the manager about BS. You will also be told that it takes longer to unload a truck than it does to load one so you can be charged extra. OH! Please don't try to call the manager out on his BS or he will charge half an hour extra because he feels like it. If you call for a quote, the manager will take your card information over the phone to charge the hold fee (standard), WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT YOUR DESTINATION, YOU WILL BE TOLD THEY CAN'T CHARGE YOUR CARD VIA PHONE LIKE THEY DID THE FIRST TIME, INSTEAD, THEY NEED TO MAKE AN IMPRINT OF YOUR CARD... If you want professionalism and transparency, do not do business with this company. We paid the $50 deposit, we received no acknowledgement of payment or a receipt. The deposit has not been returned and we had to pay and extra fee of $40 to have our large items wrapped. Still, some of our items were dinged and scuffed - the dryer has a new dent and mover scuffed the sofas trying to force them through the door, boxes marked "Fragile" still had heavy boxes stacked on top of them. Wait, I have gotten ahead of myself, did I mention that the appointment was for 10 am? I called the manager to get an eta,"let me check your appointment was closer to 10 am," sorry the understanding was that the appointment was for 10 am on the dot, not 12:33 pm. We have 4 TVs, we were not told prior to booking the service that they do not move TVs. I would not have booked this service if I had known that I would have to move all my TVs myself. I cannot say it is $400 dollars down the drain, most of my goods were moved and mostly undamaged so I would say $350 down the drain. Please pay attention to the reviews, I disregard the negative reviews to my own detriment. I cannot in good conscience recommend Pack It Movers. read more

We had a great experience with these movers! Nyck, Isaiah, and Iassac were very careful with all of our belongings and wrapped up everything nice and neat. The crew also took care of the detail work such as putting our furniture together and even arranging our living room better than what we could do. I would highly recommend them. read more

This company is horrible. I'm so surprised by the ratings on here based off of my experience. Not only did they damage the walls in my old unit and existing unit but they also caused hundreds of dollars worth of damage to the ceiling in my high rise building. In addition to this they damage multiple expensive furniture pieces and were caught lounging around taking phone calls and leisurely texting consistently throughout my move. They also dish t even bring the tools to take my bed apart even though I told them it would be needed. I live in a one bedroom apartment and was simply moving to a different unit but it still took them 6 hours which was ridiculous and speaks to the causal breaks they consistently took to communicate leisurely on their phones. I reported this to the manager and it was NEVER resolved. I will be reporting them to the BBB as the result of the issues never being resolved. Not even a discount for my services. read more

I chose these movers at the last minute, and yes they showed up, but during the move the movers broke my black and white dining marble table, I had to call over and over for one of the managers to respond to me, they were making false promises saying they would call back and never did, finally one of the managers said that they would offer me $90.00 from there insurance claim, for a table that originally cost $2500.00, I would even take a use marble dining table like mine, but to keep getting the run around from these guy is not right, I know they are planning not to pay at all, but that is what the law is for, neither one of them has call to this day to even apologize for the incident that they own worker's has did, Be careful choosing this moving company, if they break something they will not want to replace it. read more

Was moving from pearland to austin. Had Pack it movers scheduled to load my uhaul. Needed them there by 8 am so I could be on road to meet other movers for unloading. They were very unorganized and when I called at 8:30 to check on arrival time they informed me that someone had not shown up and they were calling around find someone and that it would take over an hour before someone could get there. So ended up loading my own truck. Terrible customer service, very unorganized and don't seem to really care. Call anyone else besides these guys. read more

Despite the bad reviews, we decided to give pack-it movers a chance. My husband set up everything. It was $79/hr with a 2 hour minimum plus a $50 moving fee. We were told our moving time will be from 1pm-4pm. Movers did not arrive till 9:05pm, I understand things happen but I also believe in making things right as well. We had made babysitting plans to pick up the kids after the move which we thought would be no later than 7, not 10:30pm. The delay messed up our other plans as well, from 1pm we were just waiting at the apartment waiting as we could not do anything without a truck. As soon as 4pm came around my husband called and they said there was a delay. We had to keep calling to get updates, first they said another hour, next call said another hour after that, when the last call took place, they said they would arrive in 45 minutes but it took more than double the time to arrive. The phone calls were all with Henry the manager. Once the movers arrived, we were ready to be done with this move at this late time so me and my husband helped out tremendously. From the time it took to load everything from my 1 bedroom apartment to unload everything at the house that was 17 minutes away, it took a total of 1 hour and 5 minutes. Mind you there is a 2 hour minimum. The movers were polite, efficient, and hard strong working so no complaints there. Once the move was complete, the mover called the manager who was aware of the complete situation, told him the start and end time, manager gave him a total price, we were charged the entire total $177 which included taxes, that did not include the $50 fee I previously paid to set up the reservation. "Things happen" way too much at this company. Will never use them again. Please save your time and money and take your business somewhere else to save the headache. read more

*This is the location that scheduled us and provided service. Don't remove this review!* The moving date was set for 17 November 2016. I had taken vacation days to ensure that no delays were on my part, and I wanted to clean the same day and turn keys in. I was expecting the movers at 9am, but they did not arrive on time; apparently the move the day before was still unfinished. After a session of back and forth via text messages, they tried to arrive at 8:30pm. This was not going to happen; unacceptable because we live in an apartment complex. The driver told us that they have people scheduled for the next day who have already paid deposits and they could not reschedule. In my mind, I thought, we paid a deposit, had an appointment, and you still were a no show. After haggling with the driver, we were rescheduled for the next morning 18 November at 9am. JOE said he would waive the $50.00 trip fee for the inconvenience of not showing up to a scheduled move. We should have just call a different moving company, but we wanted to give them a chance to make right a wronged situation. The movers did not arrive until after 10:30 and did not start moving us until about 11:00 am. After a very slow moving process, with a three man moving crew, the driver realized the truck was too full, and they could not load our remaining property. So we had to add a trip. This was around 4pm; I had no choice but to agree. After sitting still for at least an hour, I went to inquire why the truck was not gone to unload. The driver said the truck would not start, and they were waiting for another truck to deliver a battery (what they thought was wrong). This went on until around 8pm (4hrs total), the waiting, until the next driver showed up with a battery. Now we have four men standing around a dead truck with all of our belongings. One of the men attempted to fix the truck, but was unsuccessful multiple times, as he was not a mechanic. We asked a few times if they could just load the stuff either from the garage or just out of the dead truck into the new truck, to try and make it to the storage unit before 9pm. We did not want to have our things overnight in a truck we had no control over. This went on until midnight. When they finally decided they could not fix the truck, they now had to load all of our property out of broken truck into the new truck, because the dead truck could not be towed with property inside. With it being so late when they finally finished (2am), they would be unable to load our things into the storage unit we rented for that purpose. So now they had to keep our belongings in their truck, on their property, overnight. We were not given a time that the mover would continue to move us the next day, as they still had half our property in their truck and the other half in the garage we had with our apartment. After haggling with JOE on the phone for a time the next morning, the mover arrived at around 2pm or later the next day. Important: JOE did not call us, we had to call him the next day. So a move that should have been 3-6 hours took 36 hrs. JOE decided that another $50 dollars was all the complete and utter disaster of 36hrs was worth. He was not budging on that, we thought it was worth more, but we are just consumers. Right? No!!!!! JOE had his crew hold our belongings hostage until we showed them the CASH; he would not take a credit card, before they would continue to unload our property from the truck. When we finally moved into our new home, we noticed that multiple items were damaged. Two wooden dressers and a twin sized bed had gashes so deep, the wood was falling off. The dryer, we had just purchased, has scratches across the front, as if someone drug something across it. We have moved at least 6 times in the last 15 years being a military family. Our property has been packed into storage crates and shipped across oceans, and we have never had an experience like this or had any damages. JOE has not called to apologize for the inconvenience and unprofessionalism. It's a shame this type of thing can receive no compassion from a company that strives on referrals. read more

JOE AT PACK IT MOVERS IS HORRIBLE TO DO BUSINESS WITH! We moved to a beautiful new home and our flat screen was destroyed. It was packed and moved incorrectly. The movers did not use a"tv box," wrapping our flatscreen in blue blankets instead. Joe at pack it movers told me it was my fault and that they are not responsible. He told me the receipt of payment I signed also basically states i should have checked every single appliance. Moving is this guys business and he is taking advantage of the fact that 90% of our property is still in boxes. He knows this and banks a business on this fact. We spent over $600 cash on the move alone,I even tipped an extra $50! Joe even dodged my calls and told me his employees said everything was fine. We did not have cable service set up yet but the moment the tv was unwrapped he was notified of the damage. The movers never unwrapped the tv, this company is a scam. Horrible movers! Three guys showed up to move us and they were arguing with each other the entire time. One of them spent so much time trying to get us to pay them extra money under the table for things like wrapping our furniture in plastic before moving it ( which he said was an extra charge that the company does not tell customers about). He said that he could "hook us up" and wrap the furniture if we give him some money on the side. When we said no, he seemed to have an attitude and attempted to convince us that he was just looking out for us. The same guy kept telling us that he heard glass in one box and that they are not responsible for anything that breaks, meanwhile as he was talking, he let the boxes fall off of the dolly twice right in front of us. Then, they moved all the boxes into the house, but said they would take them to the different rooms where they belonged at the end to "save us time". We got toward the end of the move and they told us we should go ahead and pay. When we questioned the fact that they still needed to put the beds together and move the boxes, they told us it was ok and that we should pay anyway. Next thing we know, they tried to say they were done but they had not moved the boxes as they said they would. I made a big deal about it and they acted like they were doing us a favor by going ahead and moving the boxes. Once they left, we discovered that they left our nightstand upside down and in the middle of the floor and they didn't even put one bed or the fridge back together. After they left, a manager called to say that they forgot to give us a receipt and that he would e-mail it to me. I never got that email. He also asked how his crew did and I told him they put 3 chips in the wood in my brand new front door. He said to e-mail the photos so that the company can take care of it, but since I never got the email and he didn't respond to my text saying I never got it, I can't send him any photos of damage.
