We came for breakfast and had a great waitress. Food was delicious. Great little old fashioned restaurant.

The one saving grace about this place is that the service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant looks like it was designed around 1972 and hasn't been updated since. It feels tired. The food was meh AT BEST. My partner had fried cod and onion rings. When he was done, his comment was "I'm sure glad that I got the 3-piece order. I wouldn't have wanted to eat more than that. Three was bad enough." As for me, I tried to get two things listed on the menu, only to be told that they were out of those. I refused to play the "guess what we might have today" game and elected instead to eat nothing at all. In hindsight, that seems to have been a very wise decision on my part. read more

The bottom line: can't recommend it. See the pic? The dark brown puddles on my omelet are dirty griddle grease. The hashbrowns, starchless and un-crispy, seemed to be roped with it too. I ate half my omelet out of hating to waste food, but I feel like they wasted it, not me. The eggs were paper-thin and dry, with the sliced American cheese and cubed ham adding a ton of salt. I prefer well seasoned food, but this was too much. Three stars also might seem like too much, but the bacon was exquisite in quality and preparation, my husband's sunny-side-up eggs were perfect, the coffee was good and hot (even if the service was a bit chilly) and the people watching was excellent. NB: I don't "people watch" with contempt; I care about people. I particularly like to see regular visitors enjoying themselves. That morning we had two older gentlemen meeting for breakfast and Bible study; a quiet interaction between people engaged in sobriety support; a young family trying to wrangle little ones and mostly succeeding; and what appeared to be a trucker taking a late breakfast before hitting the road. All of these could have been regulars from my childhood and I enjoyed the ambiance very much. My family used to go to the Nite Owl in the late 70s / early 80s for rare restaurant dinners. Their Chef's Salad was my favorite treat at the time, and I really savored it. Before moving away from the Valley a few years later, I started ordering breakfasts and they were also grand: fluffy omelets rich with cheese, crispy hash browns...a real treat. Our server was very attentive and very nice. It was the food that was the problem. Both the soup and the sandwich were heavily salted. I know that some people like salty food. I, however, do not. What is a diner to do when, with other diners, their meal is served and it is way over salty? Send it back and hope that the pot of soup and sandwich ingredients are not already heavily salted? That could work if you have the time to wait for a new meal. Perhaps it would not be a good choice if you did not want to appear overly fussy/picky to the other diners. A diner can always add more salt to their food, but they cannot take it out of their meal. This food was too salty for me. Thus my rating of "Could've been better." PS: I thought it was kind of funny that a basket of saltine crackers was also served. read more

Delicious! While it was odd I orders trout and fries with gravy. The trout was grilled with garlic to perfection. Loved it. Had a crisp green salad on side as well. Friends loved their burger and the veggie omelette. Service was really friendly as we were definitely only the tourists! Thanks!! read more

Delicious! Food was well worth the visit. Sadly staff does not connect with diners very well but they do connect with each other very well. They enjoy working together - lots of fun play. My water and coffee stayed full but for any verbal check-ins or just conversation it was mute point. Food was outstanding - cheers to chefs! read more

I came here a few times in the past, but this morning when I went in for breakfast, let's just say the biscuits and gravy was not very good, and I normally don't say this often enough about the food that I enjoy to have once in a while. The so-called biscuits if you want to call them biscuits was cold. The gravy, you can actually see the grease on part of it, but I think that has to do with the sausage patties that they put in the biscuits before adding the gravy. The server had an attitude and didn't seem all that friendly at first. Then she eventually warmed up and became friendly. The atmosphere at the restaurant was nice as usual, but I won't be returning. read more

Had breakfast there this morning. arrived @ 8:50am. At 9:30am I asked the server where the food was and he rudely responded "it's cooking" 10 minutes later he brought my plate of garbage. Eggs ordered over medium were over hard (the menu gives several options on doneness and defines each one). The Ranch bacon could have had a new career as shoe soles. Hash browns were like all the other items---cold, cold, cold. They did get the toast ok. To add insult to injury you now have to pay at the register where everyone else can see the screen. The server hovers over you and points out the tip screen for you to choose a tip. After that they charge you 3% service fee for a credit card. I have eaten at this place many times but not in awhile and I certainly won't return. read more

I feel like the locals are going to be upset that I'm exposing this place, but this place is fantastic. Our server, Dee, was just the kindest and sweetest person ever. Not to mention she was efficient and brought me iced tea refills without being asked. Dee was continuously thoughtful and aware. We ended up sharing a salad, the hot roast beef sandwich and a slice of rhubarb pie. She brought us extra plates without being asked. We even heard her repeat all the sides to another table, over and over again. She's a real winner. We meant to come for the ribs and stuff but that doesn't start until 4pm . Been here about 4 times now and decided it was time to review. Once for breakfast and the others for lunch. Breakfast was awesome I had biscuits and gravy hubby had your bacon and eggs with hash brown's. Everything was cooked to perfection and hot. Service is always good. On the last visit my details are more vivid. I had the rueben sandwich with fries and it was very good, the usual corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing on toasted rye bread. Fries were crispy and tasty. Hubby had the chili burger which technically was a chili size in others terms an open faced burger covered in chili cheese and onions. No side since it's a plate full of food. We had the grandsons one had the French dip and it looked amazing he gobbled it up and being 14 it was his first and he said it was delicious. The 12 year old had a bacon burger and was very pleased. Burgers are 1/4 lb with an option of a double but the 1/4 was enough. Service has always been fast and efficient. read more

May 18, 2024 The fried bread I once loved changed & now tasted like dull white bread. The sauce on the ribs, tho tasty, was obviously squeezed from a bottle and not made in house as in the past. The restaurant food was as dull as cafeteria food and I no longer will recommend. read more

So good and reasonably priced that we ate there three days in a row when we were in the Flathead for the weekend.

Had lunch, I mean breakfast at lunchtime here yesterday. Yes they serve breakfast all day long. I find it hard to past up a good ham and cheese omelette. ...and for those who know me, I find it hard to pass up a good meal. This place has counter seating so I decided to sit there. The service was spot on and the waitress kept the water glass full. That in itself is my indicator for of excellent service! I ordered the omelet and shortly there after the meal arrived. The omelet had plenty of meat and cheese and was clearly a large 3-egg. Good flavor and the value for what you received was very good. I elected the sour dough bread option for the toast. They also offered the usual white or wheat. Funny thing...the family sitting next to me at the counter all ordered ham and cheese omelets. How about that! They rated them high as well. The hash browns were the only thing holding back the 5-star on this place. Taste and consistency not there. Overall good place to eat. read more

I recommend this restaurant. This is your all American diner inside warm and welcoming, our server was Teresa, and her service was very good but the best part about this diner is the food. I have been here twice now with friends, and it was outstanding every time. You can tell the owners take pride in the quality of their cooking. Absolutely wonderful. read more

Reheat frozen food on plate. It was very disappointed restaurant. We went to the restaurant based on Yelp review and I ordered the fried chicken steak of which a waitress suggested. Honestly, it was definitely a frozen bread crump chicken and retried it. The inside was still cold and it was very greasy. The vegetable was also 100% from a bag. If the owner is reading this review you should be embarrassed enough to call yourself a restaurant. I don't think anything was freshly cooked. The most authentic was water. I know it's too much to say but if you are looking for a local restaurant in this town, this will not give you what you are looking for. However, if you are looking for a cheap food and don't care much about taste at all. It's fine. The service was okay. The waiter and waitress were nice. The place was not crowded (not a surprise). We've been going here for breakfast for many years. It is not the same any more. The ham and cheese omelet was all milk, no egg, low quality ham, hashbrowns no flavor...Go to Cislo's for a really great omelet)! Service was not good. Also takes forever. Only one worker was slightly friendly, a gal that has been working there for many years. We will not be back. Leaving this place for the tourists and people with no taste buds. Admittedly we came in here late in the evening (about an hour before close), and at first the staff seemed okay, but once my wife asked for some hot coffee (it was lukewarm at best), they hardly looked at us the rest of the night. Like having to make a pot of coffee was messing up their night. (And maybe it did, because that coffee machine took forever to brew a new pot, we could see it from our seats). We stopped here on our way out of town from Glacier, looking for a good breakfast. We were not disappointed. My wife ordered the 2 pancakes, and they were huge. I got eggs, ham, hashbrowns and toast. The food was home-made quality and tasted great. Like many businesses out there, they were incredibly short-staffed, and the staff working that morning were very stressed out and over-worked. Good selection of toast offerings (YES to Sourdough!!!), coffee was good, and service was friendly and quick. It was an uncomfortable dining experience. The restaurant definitely sent a lot of mixed messages 1) there was a sign that people can take their own seats but there was actually a wait list. Take the sign down if that is not true ! 2) not following the covid guidelines. A lot of patrons walking around or sitting for their tablet were not wearing masks. Even though there was a sign saying that seating capacity has been reduced to 50%, that is definitely not true as all the tables were close to one another and they were all full. 3) our server had a face shield but not a mask. The food was disappointing as well. My eggs were cold and the hashbrowns were sitting in a puddle of oil, which was really disgusting.
