I didn't realize it was connected to a church so driving up I was a little confused as to where the cafe is but I quickly found it was on the left side of the building.

Introduction:…read more Baguette Bakery and Café, honestly the last time I was here was about ten years ago, when I was still in college at Riverside and living at Stonehaven. I remember always getting their Cajun shrimp sandwich and getting it on the go as I head to my next class or law fraternity meeting. After all these years I decide to get their Cajun shrimp as always but this time as a wrap. Food: Cajun Shrimp Wrap: The first bite transports me back ten years ago: the flavors and texture are exactly as I remember it. Their execution and quality haven't changed at all: in fact, it got better since the last time I've eaten here. The spices and flavors of the shrimps are what draws me to this sandwich/wrap; it's good to see that the flavors haven't changed. The shrimps are fresh and lightly sweet. Despite me not being a vegetable person, the vegetables inside the wrap are fresh, crisp, and refreshing: one can taste the vegetables' quality with each bite. Cookies: First time trying their cookies that's included in the combo and frankly I regard the cookies here as the best I've eaten in Los Angeles. Unlike conventional cookies, the ones at Baguette Bakery and Café are not too sweet; it is tame in its sweetness and suits the Asian palates better than conventional cookies that's served at other eateries. The texture is not too soft or too hard and dry, but instead it's smooth and has the right balance as one bites into and chews on the cookie. For those who has a sweet tooth, I recommend giving the cookies here a try: you won't regret it. Ambiance: Casual Price: Reasonable Service: The staffs here are accommodating and polite. Overall: When it comes to the eating establishments at Riverside, Baguette Bakery and Café is without a doubt premium eating in terms of their price, their culinary execution, and the freshness of the ingredients that are used. Other surrounding eateries do not come close to the level of quality that's offered here.

This review is a cumulative review of about five total trips:…read more Food/Drink: There are plenty of pastries offered but i've only tried the coffee cake they once offered. It was fair priced, a large slice, good presentation, good amount of crumble, not dry, and not too sweet. My mom enjoyed hers as well. As for the coffee, it is amazing. I tried the iced oat milk meteorite latte and it was absolutely amazing. I usually ask for half sweet, but the drinks here are, as the owner said, "balanced." That is my go to drink. My mom loves their matcha. I've had it as well and it is just as amazing. They had a strawberry matcha with strawberry sauce at the bottom and strawberry cold foam on top. However, the sauce was too sweet for us so we did plain matcha and strawberry foam and it was 10/10. I wish they brought this one back. They now have like a triple matcha that is also really good. It is matcha with matcha foam and a matcha dust. Really great. Service: The service is really great. The employees are welcoming, patient, and kind. I also really appreciate that the cafe accepts reusable cups. That says a lot about their environmental conscious. This is actually one of the reasons I return. I do not need a discount on the coffee for using my own reusable cup, however this might incentivize others to bring their own and return. A rewards program would also be good. Ambiance: Plenty of seating -- plenty. There is a bus inside with plants for sale. There are a lot of retro and vintage trinkets with a hint of plants and space. I enjoy that there are couches as well as tables and chairs. There are outlets available but I think there could be more. One reason why I do not tend to work here though is because it gets so hot there in the summer. They do have fans but, I like a nice cool environment. There is plenty of parking as well. (I do not have pics of my drinks because I use my reusable purple hydroflask tumbler so, not much to show)
