My second try for the Reuben......Bread was hard/stale and over toasted not grilled. Corned Beef was cooked on griddle and tough but only 4-5 slices. Fries were cold and soggy. I do not recommend!

A great little Irish bar and restaurant located in the back of a strip mall. Bartenders were awesome, good crowd, but younger. I had to get the Guinness and the bartender poured it perfectly. They also let my wife try a couple drafts before she settle on one. We didn't get food, but the food menu has some great options

Only enjoyed drinks. Friendly staff. If you love Irish bars/food, this is your place! Clean, new place, nicely decorated sports bar. Four person band played pleasant Irish music.

Great burgers and fun trivia night. Try Irish music on Sundays 11am-1 pm. The portions are large.

I consistently find the staff friendly, hard working, and as attentive as you can expect during very busy game days. My wife and I have mostly enjoyed appetizers, like burger sliders and appetizer platters which include items like shrimp, motzerella sticks and buffalo wings. We find this type of bar food pretty good and would no hesitate to return. While my wife is British and also enjoys both British and Irish foods, she hasn't tried some of their signature dishes yet. While our experience has been mostly positive, I don't know that we would come back again on a game day. They consistently have audio/video challenges were the screens on one half of the restaurant are around 7 seconds delayed compared tot he other half, which translates into regular auward moments where people start cheering (or booing) and others don't know why until 7....6...5...4....3....2....1... ahhh now I know why. And when seated at a table with people on one side are facing different screens than those on the other side it challenging to be engaged with your friends. Similarly, while it's perfectly normal to have elevated sound to amp up the energy during a game, the sound is so loud it makes any conversation very challenging and even triggers louse noise alerts on my watch. Many seats sit directly below a speaker, and the sound is so loud it really hinders the experience. Therefore, I'd recommend this place without hesitation on a typical day, but would suggestion staying away during football, soccer or other sports events.

We were ordered some happy hour priced appetizers such as the Celtic knots, hummus and sausage rolls. All were tasty but I have to admit the knots were my favorite as I love hot pretzels. Bar tenders kept walking past a guy and paid no attention to him. I think 4 ppl bar tenders walked past him to go to tables and ignored him. He tried to get someone's attention with no luck. He put his wallet and credit card out, but that didn't help. Finally, our bartender came back near us finally and asked if we wanted another round but completely ignored him. I said, yes we need drinks, but he would like something, take care of him first. We ordered food and the guy put our food literally on top of our cards while in the middle of playing and trying to dab the cards. Why he didn't put it next to us was beyond me. Overall, I love the place but def some off moments. However, I'm excited to see the new build out and how big it will be.

The group was lively and loud and we ended up sitting at the bar with great service from Amanda, the bartender who was hustling. The bar was full most of the time we were there and people were ordering lots of drinks, so the staff was busy. Service was pretty good for how busy it was! We decided to get some snacks - we ordered two of the stuffed onion rings (onion ring stuffed with jalapeno cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon and scallions) and the grouper basket to share. Our food came out quickly with the onion rings first. I've never seen this before but imagine if a loaded potato skin and an onion ring had a baby. The onion ring had a layer of crisp cheese on the bottom to form a little bowl of the onion ring that held more cheese, bacon, and scallions. They were delicious and I'm glad we got to try them. The grouper basket was also very tasty, with tender chunks of grouper fried crispy with fries and coleslaw. I'm glad we got to have fun at Brooks Bar & Grill and probably would come back for a meal or more drinks. Shoutout to Amanda!

We made a reservation ahead of time, which is a very good idea in-season. We asked for a table with a nice view of the sunset and we were given a front row seat to a beautiful sky as we dined - - the sunset colors changed all throughout. Jaklyn was our server and she really couldn't have been nicer and more efficent. She really helped us with our meal selections and is a pro server! She kept my husband's ice tea glass filled all throughout the evening, which is no easy-feat. I enjoyed the wings and a caesar salad while my husband had a salad with fried scallops which I tasted -- they were delicious. The menu is pretty robust - -i needed a little break from seafood that night! And to top off our meal, we had a very yummy slice of their key lime pie - - you really dont get key lime pie very often in NJ, so we took advantage and had to do taste tests during our vacation. This one was pretty close to the top! So if you're looking for a nice casual restaurant with a great sunset every evening, CJ's By The Bay is a winner. Get there early as the parking lot really fills up around sunset time. You can eat inside or out, depending on your mood.
