My friends and I went into Paddy Murphy's to enjoy dinner on a Sunday evening after seeing a show around the corner at the Marco Arts Center Theater. We were able to get a table right away for our group of 6, which was awesome. We sat inside and because Masters golf was on TV, the live music that was scheduled to play that night was delayed. I have heard that when the music is going at Paddy Murphy's, it becomes impossible to have a conversation so it was not a bad thing that we were able to have dinner and talk to each other. Though we will have to return one night for the live music. Our server was awesome, very helpful. There were a few things on the cocktail menu that were not available but he guided us to other options. We started with the Mac & Cheese Bites which were delicious. Though I really wish they had some potato skins and mozzarella sticks on the menu, too. When I think about fall football at the local pub, those are the snacks I most enjoy. For dinner I had the fish & chips which was awesome. It looked like a heavy batter, but it was so light. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the batter crunched so nicely. The French fries were wide steak fries, which were good and crispy. I usually like my fries a little overdone and skinny, but these fit the meal very well. A great little Irish bar and restaurant located in the back of a strip mall. Bartenders were awesome, good crowd, but younger. I had to get the Guinness and the bartender poured it perfectly. Ambiance: very good. Noisy and friendly like a pub should be. Service: Good. Friendly bar servers. Attentive. Food: in an Irish pub food may not be the big draw however it can't be bad as to making people not want to be there. The kitchen at Patty Murphy's has just opened within the last few weeks, and I will give them the benefit of the doubt that they don't have their act together yet. Your menu is not extensive and that's not bad. But you must make sure that what's on the menu is good and memorable. I thought I couldn't miss by ordering the fish and chips but, alas, I was wrong. Here's where I'm assuming that they'll get their act together pretty soon. Good fish and chips are not soggy and should be crisp with a crunch to the bike. Unfortunately, the fish didn't have the quality to it although it was a quality piece of fish just not with the better and frying done to standard so far. As for the chips/french fries They were awful. They tasted like Millie mashed potatoes formed like a chip and lightly brown with no detectable flavor or seasoning and in general the worst I've ever had. I hate to say this I really want this place to do well, but I don't want them to assume that they're done yet. While I haven't tried anything else, I would assume that if one of the crown and entrées of the menu is what they should be proud about is not something I would brag about, then we need to let them know that there's improvement here. All in all I enjoy the place and hopefully they will get their kitchen up to par and be able to sustain themselves. One thing I've learned in Marco Island over a period of 25 years. Went to Paddy Murph's for dinner and trivia. The day shift was nice and friendly. The other people at the bar were friendly and polite. The guy next to us recommended the Rueben or corned beef sandwich. Both were great choices. Then we decided we were staying for trivia. Had a good time the first couple of rounds. Then a couple sets of drunk locals (regulars) came in and were being excessively loud and disruptive. A few customers had to ask the trivia guy to repeat questions. The drunk locals decided that was a cue to get louder. The bartender/manager jokingly asked them to not call out answers. That made the drunken locals get even louder. Several people playing trivia said something to the trivia host. The trivia host said talk to the bartender/manager. The bartender/manager again joking asked the drunken locals to not call out answers. After the event had concluded I asked the bartender/manager to step outside to talk to him. I told him of my disappointment with the events during his bartending/management shift. All he could say, "Is they are locals and they are here every night. They pay the bills." This was said with a smirk on his face. That tells me he doesn't care about the general customer. We came here based on a recommendation from our hotel. We will make sure that the entire Marriott Corporation never recommends Paddy Murphy's Marco Island ever again. read more

Went this evening with some friends. We thought it would be early enough to avoid the wait time but this place was happening and had to wait 30 minutes. We ordered the nachos, fish and chips, and Smashburger, and for dessert we had the ice cream sundae. Everything was delicious! Was not disappointed SERVICE was fine.
