I highly recommend Paddy's Loft for dinners and/or medium-to-large parties. We recently had a memorial luncheon there for our brother. We were a large crowd and the staff accommodated us very well. They also allowed us to have my brother's New York State Courts Pipe & Drum band play within the restaurant. Came upon this place through a restaurant week. Turns out they have a pre-fixed menu everyday and it wasn't bad. Not from the area, so when we plugged It into the GPS, it sent us the wrong way. We found it eventually. The place itself seemed Like it's been there forever. We didn't go into the bar, so I can't comment on that. The dining room was simple And it looked like there was a private room on the side. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, my companions had the strip steak, which was cooked perfectly medium rare, The seafood pasta and marinara sauce. I had the catch of the day which was crispy salmon covered in black and white sesame seeds and topped with Thai chili sauce. When I say crispy, I mean crispy! It was the best salmon that I've ever had in my many years. As for dessert, we had apple pie and bread pudding, both served piping hot and delicious. We had a near perfect dining experience except for the fact that our server neglected to give us Utensils and napkins. I had to ask the bus boy for them. Nice local restaurant with Irish specialties. They have a wonderful bread basket with Irish soda bread. Most entrees come with a delicious house salad with mixed greens. Good food friendly bar tenders and waitstaff too sometimes they can be a bit slow but the food was worth it

The only reason I am giving this one star is the food was delish. This was a horrible and stressful birthday dinner celebration for my son, there were so many mishaps. We chose Paddy Loft to have my son's 27th birthday dinner. First, we had a handicap friend with us who has Parkinson's. When my son and our handicapped friend arrived they had to wait 10 minutes before the hostess acknowledged them. It was clear our friend was handicapped. She was very impatient waiting for him to get down the steps. We all sat to have dinner there were 7 of us. Our waiter seemed liked he was on the newer side, he took our order and said I just wanna make sure I have everyone's order. He repeated our order and had a few things wrong. He was also wrong about an appetizer we ordered as far as how many it would serve so we ordered two and it was way too much. He corrected what he said was wrong with our order. The food arrived with our salads which is never done and we actually had to eat our salads hanging partially off the table because of lack of room on the table. Our main meal was getting cold while we finished our salad. Second, when they did bring the food a few things came wrong. My sister in law never received her salad which she substituted for the French fries and was charged. My sister in law had gotten the corned beef sandwich. The bread on the sandwich was hard possibly stale. She asked for another piece of bread, they took the whole sandwich back and replaced the bread but it was still hard. The waiter said she could get something else but would be charged for the sandwich and the new entree. We called the hostess over and I may add she was not friendly. They replaced her sandwich with another entree which took a while. As everyone was finished with their meal her new entree came. The hostess said we would not be charged for both. Third, it was now time for desert. We had brought in our own birthday cake. The waiter asked if we wanted coffee but never took our coffee order. The waiter then proceeded to give us the check without asking if we were ready for it. Almost as if saying here is your check now leave. Third, we received the check and we were charged for the sandwich and the replacement meal, they also charged us 28.00 for two salad wedges which should have been 5.00 each salad for the upgrade to the salad. Lastly, and a most horrible situation, as we were standing waiting to leave with our handicapped friend a waitress came by and could not wait and while he was trying to move to leave 8ithe restaurant using his cane she squeezed by. Looked to the dining room on right and nobody...walked into the bar side and not a hello, can I help you or nada!! Went here during restaurant week and was underwhelmed and thought it was a bit overpriced for what I received. Every part of the meal was missing something and for $44/person I wasn't impressed. For my appetizer I had the cajun pretzel bites which were absolutely amazing and I would come back for these alone. They are supposed to be served with a beer cheese dipping sauce and a mustard dipping sauce, however I only received beer cheese. I like beer cheese and the sauce was great, probably would have preferred it over the mustard had I received it. For my entree I got the skirt steak which comes with mashed potatoes, asparagus and chimichurri. When my meal came, it was served with cooked carrots instead of asparagus. At first I assumed maybe they ran out of asparagus but then recalled the waitress read off a filet mignon special that included a side of asparagus so I don't know, maybe a mixup in the kitchen. Never in my life have I received chimichurri in a tiny cup on the side but that's how it was served here and it was more olive oil than anything. It was completely separated and definitely not enough parsley. The steak itself was cooked alright but it was completely tasteless and bland. No marinade at all and I don't think they seasoned it with salt or pepper, just slapped the steak on the grill as-is. Lastly for dessert I got the warm brownie and it didn't have any chocolate sauce on it, as it's advertised on the menu. Overall it wasn't BAD (though I was definitely disappointed in the steak and would not recommend). I would come back here for bar food, especially those pretzels, but probably not for another sit down meal. read more

Irish outpost in Massapequa. I've been passing this place for some time but last night presented an opportunity to stop in. The place is part bar, part sit down restaurant. The bar half on the left side is jamming - not a seat was to be had and the few small tables around the walls were all taken up - so we opted for the dining side. The building is split roughly 60/40 with the larger side being the dining area. We could have used reservations as the dining area was pretty busy as well but the hostess worked us in quickly. The help is outstanding there by the way - from the hostess down, everyone was helpful and happy. The food was pretty good- I was torn between 3 and 4 stars if only because I think they try too hard. Let's call it 3.5 stars then. The portions are massive- the "seafood portobello" appetizer was enough for 2-3 people to share. The roasted stuffed chicken with a mushroom sauce was tasty but had a little too much going on inside- a load of cheese, broccoli, more mushrooms etc. Some of the other meals that went by were just as huge and looked pretty good. Excellent selection of tap beers and decent wines by the glass. Prices are a little on the high side, but then again you get a load of food. Smallish parking lot. read more

I love this place.... it's always good.. but be forwarned... this is a long episode of dragged out dining.... No one feels rushed.. but I usually like to skip in and out..... not possible here... What I do is rush my guest to order asap....... before more people come in and sit, and order which could add a half hour ... then I enjoy a great dinner... but when the check is not at the table and people are slumping down in the seat.. I catch the eye of the waitress, signal over and do that annoying fake scribble on my hand gesture with a friendly smile -when they get there.. and try to leave to quickly.... I already have the card out....saying "here" .. sending it back with them -- lest they not return for 10 minutes ..... you have to be on, or else patient...... plus it is a drinking place... they prefer you to stay and swig down beers... so if you have any other plans whatsoever forget it... if you do have other plans.. just order light at the bar.. but the restaurant is a slower pace with great food. The food is just great... dinner, lunch or even an old fashioned Irish brunch.. with bangers and blood pudding... eggs, ham / Irish bacon and beer.. just kidding.. but go there and have this brunch... For dinner, get the fish, get the baked potato soup, enjoy the salads, and the prime rib is unbelievable.. let them bring you a pint of tap beer.. and enjoy the best darned Irish Soda bread anywhere... why? It has rye seeds in it.. is a smidge darker than most.. and has a sugary top... need I say more? The coffee is always good, the deserts always fresh, the food is really traditional and super. Chillean sea bass with tomatoes, capers.. that is just so good... So go and sit a spell.. it's who you go with that makes this the right place or too long a wait... so choose your guest wisely. read more

Was here a few weeks ago. I was with my parents actually and we were planning on eating and drinking, heavily. We got a few appetizers and entrees and everything was delicious. I want to give this place a 4th star, but i'll wait for a revisit of the establishment. I went here a few nights ago with my parents, after not going for maybe 10 years. We were sat down by a friendly host/manager, and our waitress was very nice as well. I got a draft of Toasted Lager, which was one of the better taps i've had. We started with the Pub Sampler which has mozz sticks, wings, chicken fingers, potato skins, calamari, and 1/2 rack ribs. Nothing on the plate really stood out as great, and like most places, the mozz sticks were meh, and the calamari was too breaded. For the price though, it was a decent deal. For main course, one meal was the chicken pot pie, chicken princess, and fish and chips. The chicken pot pie was pretty good, and extremely hot, big chunks of chicken instead of most places that give you tiny shreds of it. The chicken princess was good, but probably wouldn't order it again, wasn't really what I was expecting, even though it was pretty much exactly described on the menu. And the fish and chips I didn't taste. The ambience of the place is nice and calm and cozy, but i'm sure it can get rowdy. It's nice that the bar and restaurant are located in separate areas of the building. Will I go back, yes, and i'll try different things, i've heard great things about their french onion soup. read more

I've come here several times in the past, but figured I was due to give my review after coming here on a whim for a weekend lunch with my wife. They gave us the option to sit in the restaurant or bar area. We sat at a table in the bar. The menu was a decent size and there were lunch specials. Our waitress greeted us with fresh Irish soda bread. We loved it so much. It had a bit of sweetness and was very fresh. She said we could even purchase some to take home which I regret not doing. Original plans for the night were upset by the weather (snow yet again on Long Island) so a last minute suggestion was made to go to an Irish pub. Granted my want of a pint of Guinness had a great deal to do with it but that's beside the point. Paddy's Loft had several positive reviews & it was close by so off we went. Appetizer - Get the Irish Eggrolls. They are fantastic. Corned Beef and Cabbage deep fried in a wonton wrapper. Could have made a meal out of them. Soup was a Beef Barley that was delicious. The vegetables were soft but not mushy. Good flavor with no one thing overpowering another. Entree was the Beef Stew. The beef was tender and no grizzle to be found. The gravy was flavorful and the red potatoes and veggies were cooked to perfection. Didn't get a standard dessert but did finish with a Jameson's Coffee. Coffee was brewed fresh and strong enough to stand up to the Jameson's which came through balanced nicely with the light amount of cream on top. Now even though there was a miserable amount if weather goung on outside (2 inches of snow from the time we arrived till we left) the door just kept opening and more and more people kept coming in. It is a warm and friendly place. Met some nice people (one who we discovered lived around the corner from me back in the day) had a lot of laughs and left full and happy. This past Saturday my husband and I had met out friends there for Dinner. We were seated in the downstairs dining room which at times can be very noisy. As a waiter was walking by I said "excuse me, can we get some butter". With that the owner Noel comes and throws the butter on the table and says "here's your butter, with a definite attitude...at which point I said excuse me? He replied my server didn't like they way you ordered the butter! Well how did he say I ordered the butter and he said very nastily you yelled HEY to him...I told him several times that I never said Hey to the server and that I never would! Having 2 daughters in the food industry I know you NEVER say hey to a server...I tried to explain that to him and he's wasn't having it and was getting nastier by the minute. At this point the conversation got very heated between myself and our friends husband and the owner Noel..He demanded we get out of his restaurant and threw the bill on the table and said if we didn't leave he was going to call the police... I will Never go back to Paddy's Loft or his other restaurant Smuggler Jacks.. I have heard this from other people who have had a problem with Noel, and also from servers and bartenders who have worked for him in the past and say he is horrible to his employees and customers... read more

i've only eaten here a few times and every time i come i order the same thing and it tastes different every time and i also always get put in a room in the back which is crowded with no windows or central air, which is not good especially during covid. the room is also all the way in the back so every time i have to use the bathroom i have to walk through peoples private parties,baby showers etc. ALSO my main concern i have a couple friends who have worked here and the management is absolutely disgusting and vile. very rude,unprofessional, and unforgiving to their staff. I placed the order the before St Patrick's for a 5:00 pickup.when I got there a mob of people were waiting outside in the rain. I figured I was just picking up an order. Restaurant was packed to the gills inside and numerous others inside the door were also just picking up. One fellow had a large pre-order for 4pm and was still waiting. It took 30 minutes to get someone to take my name. The other guy got his at around 5:45. I got mine around 6:30! Regular customer and ultimately a fan of food. Would recommend almost always, but have noticed now they are understaffed, and quality isn't what it used to be. My last experience was really a bad one in regards of service. The manager took our order and seemed in a rush. Of course got the meals wrong, and waited 20 minutes only to flag down a waitress, the only waitress, and was told my manager was only helping me out. I'm your waitress she replys, and not only acts rude, takes my empty cup and doesn't return or ask if I want another. Completely turned off, the manager with the Irish accent was a disaster as was the waitress who came in for relief. Will not be going for awhile. read more

Dined @ Paddy's Loft 9/03/23. Ordered a Full Irish Breakfast. Had not dined here for a year or more. Quality of products; tomatoes especially poor, sausages, Irish style bacon all in quite apparent decline versus previous visit. Food preparation also most definitely on the decline. I seriously doubt that the cook, (Not chef) is even remotely Irish, though that is often prevalent in the food services. To add insult, it appears that they are trying to get one over on their paying customers by adding a credit card convenience fee And sales tax. (All Before suggesting percentile gratuities) This is Not correct; but then again many diners might Not notice this attempted fraud. I did and left a lower gratuity than was falsely recommended. ---Gratuities are supposed to be based upon the pre-tax or any other charge menu price of the food--- Since I do not blame the service / dining room staff for this 'mistake', I did leave a gratuity, but not the minimum 20-25 percent or more suggested. I did take my leftovers home, but I've decided to discard them to avoid possible illness. A shame really, since this was once a very good choice for Irish fare... No more, apparently. Do not risk getting ill @ any price! Save your money and your time. read more

What a great place. Parking is difficult when it's packed and there having private parties. It's so worth the walking distance since there is a shopping center next to it. I love Irish food. My dad is Irish and I can't get enough of corn beef. It was my first time to have a Hot Toddy and it made all cozy, warm inside. Janine was a great bartender and very friendly. She made it feel like a relaxing place, like home. We ordered as an appetizer the Irish spring rolls which was phenomenal. My love ordered the steak sandwich and I ordered the shepherds pie. We live around the corner so naturally we're frequent patrons. The moderately priced food is always tasty, hot, and delivered by an attentive serving staff. A standout among said staff is Dawn. She is a server who never fails to delight with her friendly demeanor and overall great attitude. This reviewer realizes that his criticisms of late have been rather harsh and is posting this as an update. I have elevated my overall rating to four stars being the culmination of all my enjoyable dining experience here. The burgers are sublime however you order them. Wonderful steaks. Happy St Patrick's Day at Paddy's Loft. Was there tonight with 5 other friends. Arrived a little after 6:00 for drinks (wondering how many people would be out dining on the first Saturday of the Coronavirus scare) and the place was quiet. Got seated around 6:45 and there were 4 tables filled. Then the crowds arrived! If you didn't have a reservation you couldn't get seated for 30 minutes! By the time we left at 8:30, the place was full. Every table taken. They were super conscious of cleaning ... the tables, the menus, everything! Great going Paddy! read more

Another one of my favorite "go too's"! It's so tucked away place, with dynamic food, and a friendly staff. The menu has some clever items, and their is something for everyone. Tasty food. Sometimes the wait to get the food can be long, but it's worth it. The bar is open till 4 AM with a small Food menu. Wanna impress somebody? Take them To this little nugget.
