I too have been buying pizzas religiously for over three years at the south store and used to make and bake them for Pietro's for years back in the 80s, so I know great pizza. Paddington's IS going downhill and fast. What happened?!!!! It's only just in the past few months too! We've noticed that the crust is ALWAYS flat, no rise in the dough when cooked. Dried out dough!! Also, why are you now cutting the pizzas into 16 micro pieces perfect for small children, but infuriatingly too small for a hungry adult? Is this to compensate for your smaller larges? Don't think that this has gone unnoticed. Please, please, please return to the Paddington's of 2019. Don't make us drive the extra 2 miles to Donatello's Pizzaria for old fashioned Paddington'sesque style pizza. I'll pay more and receive a lot less ingredients, but the sizes will be bigger and the crust won't be dry and flat. We're very disappointed in you Paddington's. Bad pizzeria!!! read more

Came here today for a large family gathering. Service was very good, very friendly and helpful staff. A couple of the 6 or 7 pizzas we ordered got messed up and these folks without missing a beat, immediately made us new pizzas and gave us the ruined ones for free. Business seems steady, pizza line in the kitchen is pizza after pizza, so don't be mad if it takes some time to get your food. The pizza was pretty tasty, in my opinion. No gripes about the price, because EVERYTHING is expensive these days. You just have to deal with it. My only gripes are that they actually DO have gluten free, in small, medium and large (extremely hard to find a large gluten free pizza anywhere), but it says this literally NOWHERE on the menu!!! I had to ask two different employees before I got gluten free confirmed, that shouldn't happen; it should be advertised! I have a serious wheat allergy, but I love pizza and so do many people out there who I'm certain would love to know where they can get some... Also, there was no way for me to give a tip with my debit card? That is awful. It's 2023, nobody carries cash anymore. Those employees work hard and they earn those tips. They probably go home from work every day wondering what they did wrong. I would very much appreciate some communication from ownership or management that this issue will be addressed going forward. read more

I visit Salem occasionally from Oregon, and Padington's is an absolutely required stop every time. Their pizza is the BEST!!! The thin, crispy crust is so unique and tasty, and the toppings are fresh and generous. Definitely one of my top favorite pizzas in the world, and pizza is my life. read more

There was many things that didn't go well with my experience at this restaurant. First of all, when I went to order I noticed that where they prepare and make the pizzas was a complete mess. They were also sweeping and there was a mountain of garbage on the ground. Then, I ordered a salad and when I was eating I noticed that there was hair in it. I took it to the counter to let the workers know and when I did so the worker didn't even say sorry nor anything near an apology. There was not one table cleared, all of them had the garbage of previous people while there were multiple workers in the back doing nothing. Still a unique and tasty pizza! They still struggle to operate efficiently and effectively. Their estimates for times are very erroneous.

The food was super good and the service was excellent. They also gave us a FREE 2 liter bottle of soda. Definitely recommend!

We used to really love Padington's, but service and taste has changed significantly over the last few visits. Tonight the pizza was terrible as in we threw it away. They did refund us for the inedible pizza that had what smelled like spoiled meat on it, but that did not make up for a blown pizza and movie night. It is a shame, they were definitely our favorite pizza place for years, but we are done and wanted others to be aware. So if you feel like it's not what it used to be, you are not alone. On the menu "Don't have what you're looking for? Customize it yourself!" .... awesome! Get up there to order... They do not allow you to ask for thicker crust, cannot fathom putting the sauce on top of the cheese because they use a brush to put it on despite a suggestion that they use a ladle or spoon, the workers are rather depressing, unenthusiastic and slow, Slow, SLOW. I understand that we should not abuse emotional labor and overtly energetic people are rather annoying, but there is a difference between quality service and apathetic melancholy. The ONLY redeeming factor that this place has is their cute to-go boxes. It was pretty nice pizza. Not the best. Not so much worth the wait, which was quite long. read more

What a joke! Very good pizza actually. But they are trading on the idea that the service can absolutely be slow and rude because they believe their pizza is best around. I counted 8 slow moving people making pizza in their kitchen while waiting 45 minutes for two pizzas. 8 pizza chefs in a restaurant that size? They could crank out pizza fast enough for Super Bowl halftime and quality wouldn't suffer. We have been going to Padington's since 2008 and in 9 years the only real complaint is when order pizza whether it's in person or over the phone the wait time is around 45 minutes sometimes an hour. We order take out primarily so it's not a huge deal, you just show up at the time they tell you pay and leave. Takes 5 minutes at most. Because of what I experienced last night December 26th 2017 We will never waste our money on this business again. Ordered our pizzas, they tell me they'll be ready by 6:15pm I show up at 6:20pm There is a line OUT THE DOOR on a 32 degree night, never seen a line out the door, I walk in because I'm just picking up a pizza I'm not dining in and I'm not standing outside in the fuckin cold. I walk in and I see why the line They have ONE PERSON WORKING THE REGISTER One They have a pizza prep person who slices and boxes or puts on the tray for people dining in. They have about 8 people making pizzas and one bartender. So I stand to the left of the register, like I've done in the past and usually SOMEBODY helps me. It is usually the pizza cutting person. Tonight NOBODY FUCKIN ACKNOWLEDGED ME I stood there in that spot from 6:20pm until 7:15pm The exact spot, didn't move Got ignored the entire time I've included pictures of the clock as proof that I'm not making this up Why would I lie about a business that I've given money to for 9 years. At some point 2 people stood behind me who were dining in, they got ignored too So here's the facts and the reason as to why I will never WASTE MONEY HERE AGAIN. One, the owners/managers KNOW how busy they get STAFF YOUR FUCKIN BUSINESS Train your employees to NOT IGNORE PEOPLE If there was only one line then ask me what I need and TELL ME you want one line. We have eaten here for years! It's been our favorite pizza in Salem and always recommending to friends. Unfortunately no more. Over the last several months it is our least favorite pizza place. It went from toppings so heavy we almost had to remove some, to scarcely having any at all. The wait is long and the pizza expensive, it was worth it before. Now it IS NOT! We can't eat bad pizza at this price. We have several tries thinking maybe it was a bad night. I feel they have changed permanently for profit. Sad to see this happen. I have always had a great experience at both Padington's; however, recently I tried ordering through Yelp our favorite pizza (The Humdinger). The app was seamless and even asked, like they do at the restaurant, if I wanted canned or fresh mushrooms. I clicked Canned and also wrote that in the special comments. (BTW, canned mushrooms on this pizza are amazing...gotta try it). The pizza arrived much colder than I expected, but the worst thing was it had fresh mushrooms. I wrote to Padington's and basically they said they aren't affiliated with any delivery service so it isn't their problem. If their response wasn't so blatantly dismissive, I wouldn't be writing this review. I will still go to Padington's in the future, but I may concentrate with the North Pine Street location instead. read more

I give them a 3 because their food is amazing but their service SUCKS! The last 5 or 6 time I've come here they say 20 mins. 45 mins later I get my pizza. Last time I was here we waited for 45 mins just to find out they "lost" our order. We finally got out food after being there for an hour and a half.... Then there is today, I order two lunch specials over the phone, they said it will be 20 mins. I get there 20 mins later and they haven't even made the pizzas yet... lady had a smart ass response when I said "you told me 20 mins..?" If it wasn't for the food this place wouldn't get a single star. Also CLEAN YOUR SEATING AREA!! This use to be the best place to go in town but now.. They were extremely busy and let us know the wait would be long. That is about the only plus. We had a huge party and spent quite a lot of money, 10 pizzas, soda and beer. Toppings were good, crust was cardboard. It was my grandsons 18th birthday and we just asked them to announce in the intercom "Happy Birthday" The response from management was "that's not our policy". If that's not their policy fine, I didn't ask them to sing or dance, just say happy birthday. Our new policy is no more Paddingtons. read more

Once was one of our favorite places, not any more. Worst customer service ever. Phoned in a pizza to go with a three hour lead time. Arrived just after the scheduled time and pizza wasn't ready. They hadn't taken my credit card information when I ordered so I was then told I needed to go wait in the line of people ordering to pay after they had just allowed another phone in order to pay without waiting in line. The reason I phoned in the order was so I didn't have to wait in the Friday night rush. Once we got the pizza home the quality was no where near what we have come to associate with Padington's. The crust, which was burned, tasted like it was a pre packaged version and the toppings were super salty. You can tell the ownership has changed. Not sure what the terms of the sale were but the product does not live up to the brand at this location anymore. Will be dedicating my business to original Padington's in the future. read more

My father ordered a Humdinger with no mushrooms (deathly allergic step mother) a side salad and a side of sliced tomatoes. Order was set for 6:35 PM I arrived early ( @6:17) and waited until 6:45 PM before I became concerned that they had forgotten my order. I asked. They said I was up next, my pizza and a large bag was given to me at 6:57 PM I left angrily muttering about how stupid this all was and upon returning home discover that my sliced tomatoes are missing. Checked at the shop for mushrooms and thankfully we didnt have any! Lost money and time, regret getting this food. Was told "Thanks." A "Sorry" would have gone farther. My wife and I have been eating at Padington's since they first opened on Commercial in Salem. The restaurant literally has not changed, ever. The pizza still tastes the same and is really good, especially if you like thin crust with loads of toppings...................but it is priced way too high. I only go here because my wife loves the pizza. Service is very slow, too. I'm honestly surprised that they are still in business. read more

Overall pizza is OK. Problem is they can't estimate time and they have a real problem with handling phone orders. On three separate occasions I have been put on indefinite hold. Actually drove 20min and the phone was still on hold. They really need to update to a modern system. They charge enough for the pizzas to cover the cost of a real point of sale system. Today I was told a 50 minute wait. I showed up about 20min early, there were only two orders on the rail and our pizza was made, but just sitting on the counter. They put it in the oven when I paid. RIP Paddingtons. After 25 years of getting great pizza, third time in a row its been terrible. This time it was take out only with a 2 hour wait (I get it...pandemic, short staffing, and all the problems small businesses have had). When I got there it was still another 15 minutes. Still, I'm trying to be patient. When I get home the topping are just a fraction of what they were just a year ago and the pizza is cold. We were so excited when we pulled up to the front of the restaurant! We were told that this is the place to go for old school pizza parlor pizza. The pizza was really good, expensive but really good.. However the whole pizza parlor experience was lacking, they don't have any games and the decor is slightly drab. So much potential but the atmosphere really fell short for us. Waiting nearly an hour for a pizza was a lot longer than expected. We would definitely order pizza to go but we will keep searching for a fun pizza parlor. read more
