Walery's is a nice pizza spot. They have a small arcade section for the kids and plenty of seating inside. It's the only pizza place I've visited that puts slices of tomatoes and green peppers on the pizza haha. The pizza was really tasty. read more

Everyone has raved about this place so I thought I would try it. They have a personal sized pizza so that's what me and my friend purchased. The price wasn't bad around $8. I'm allergic to tomatoes so I normally have a different base rather than the traditional American red sauce. That's the only they offer. So, I ordered it without sauce. Pretty dry. Also, I'm curious what kitchen doesn't have olive oil in it. But then, I digress. The pizza I ordered had mushrooms (from a can), olives (these were not sliced but whole olives) and bell pepper. Not a great pizza but as some say even bad pizza is good pizza. If you are looking for an artisan style this is not your place. However, if you have kids and want to have pizza and a Coors lite while they play arcade games then this is your place. Service is order at the counter and pick up at the counter which is fine but the order line can get congested causing a back up for those picking up. All in all an ok place as long as expectations aren't super high. I might return with children but until then I will investigate other avenues. read more

I heard they have a good reputation ,but it's obvious they're slipping super grease fries gross. We had a family reunion . Sad we wasn't able to reserve the back room crowded table what with the bars all over looks nice but it's hard move around . Plus on top of that one of our family members order a pizza that they burnt shit out of . Took forever to get out new pizza ! They got one job to do for real ! It's not rocket science, no one offered to make it right customer service sucks. I feel like they should made it priority or offered to pay for it . Plus seeing them with no pizza while rest all finished eating !! The place is run by kids, with a couple over 21 for serving beer. Quality of ingredients have gone down with the new owners. The person who answered the phone was not very professional. 20 years ago, this was the go-to place, not anymore. I will make the trip to Paddington's. what happened to Wallerys's ? We've been getting pizza at since I was a kid I couldn't always count on the same perfect pizza. Until now I would've given five star however after our last two visits I have to give them one star. The pizza is overcooked. This last time I went in I showed a picture and said please do not overcook my pizza again, but they did. Well this is the place to be on the weekend. The place was packed and full of party celebrations but we were able to get a table as walk-ins. The pizza is not so great. Meh. But the service is nice. Good crust, bad sauce which has some weird spice I can't identify. Good fresh mushrooms, BAD fresh tomatoes which are unripe and just should not be offered. Counter service, large restaurant, most of the tables are connected and set up for groups. It has an arcade atmosphere with some favorite coin-play games like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong Asteroids. Walery's has been a staple of the neighborhood for decades. The pizza is consistently excellent with thin crisp crust and crunchy pepperoni edges. All the pizza options are good from veggie to Canadian bacon. It's mostly local kids working here so service is hit or miss but they have lots of help available so what ever you need will eventually get taken care of. It's a kid friendly pizza place so it's usually loud and raucous with kids running around having fun. If you are not into that just get your pizza to go. read more

Came here to meet up with family for dinner. It's a good place for group gatherings. Lots of seating. The pizza was pretty good. I liked the crust. Not a big fan of the mushrooms or olives. It was time for a new location for our annual pizza gathering with friends and this was the winner. We have been here before but it had been a number of years. Going to eat in a restaurant during a pandemic is a little stressful but they seemed to be enforcing the mask mandates for the most part. I really do not understand the reviews with more than 3 stars (or the awards?). The pizza was barely better than a frozen pizza. The crust was tasteless, and the sauce needed more seasoning. The crust to sauce ratio could have been better. The best part of the pizza was the pepperoni. It was very flavorful, spicy, and curled up like a cup of yum. The environment was like stepping back in time, including the website. Eating that pizza made me rethink what Oregonians think of tasty food. This place was the place to be 20 years ago on a Friday night after a local sporting event!!! the whole family could come enjoy the pizza and the kids could play in the arcade for hours spending quarter after quarter on the games while the parents and adults enjoyed pitchers of beers and conversations. now it's the complete opposite!!! you can't even go to a local JV basketball game and make it in in time to have a pizza and a beer because they close at 8:00pm every night!!! who ever is managing this place now should be disgusted with themselves. there is so much money being lost by this place it's disgusting. the owner must not have any connections to his business. 8:00pm on a Friday night and your kicking customers out the door. hell varsity basketball games aren't even at halftime yet and your closing the doors. this place used to be my favorite and my last 3 visits were increasingly more and more disappointing. It's good in a pinch, and the best pizza option in West Salem. Their wings are really good but not your typical wing, as they are huge and breaded. I prefer more of an Italian style pizza, and Walery's makes a great Oregonian style pie (not a bad thing). They are consistent, and the service has always been prompt. My Grandmother and I stoppee in for lunch today sometime after 1pm. All we ordered was a small Taco Pizza and was told it would be about 15-20 mins. Well it took longer than that because we found out a young lady there admitted that she put our ticket order in the wrong place and so the cooks never got our order in the first place. Accidents happen yes but she shoule of made sure the cooks got it right away. Maybe she is new. She apologized and we got our Pizza finally. Went here with the kid and her friend. This place seems to be a legend in West Salem, but this was my first visit. When you come in it is quite a large place , which aids with social distancing. All the staff wee masked. It's very old school ..the decor is of a musical bent. Mainly 60s and 70s, lots of 45s hanging from ceiling. Some beautiful guitars on the wall etc. You go up to the counter to order. Got the large pepperoni and it was not that large. They use those tiny cocktail pepperonis. They are kinda dry. Pizza had loads of cheese..so was very greasy. But it was acceptable. I love that they still have Alaskan Amber on tap. That beer makes even bad pizza good! So just average sadly. read more

I first learned about Walery's from Jessica, as she was lucky enough to go there years before we met. We will stop here every time we are in the Salem area, and a lot of times will buy a couple of pizzas and bring them home (about an hour away) and have pizza for a couple of days. If you are looking for a nice crispy crust with cornmeal and quality toppings, this is the place for you. The pricing is quite reasonable, the atmosphere is fun and friendly, and the pizza is great. We've gotten two pizzas (to-go) from here since moving down from the Portland area last month. 1) Their prices are competitive with any local pizza restaurant we've gone to. Sure, it's more expensive than any of the chains but the quality is much higher and you're supporting a local business. 2) They do not skimp on toppings! We got the veggie pizza the first time and it was heavy on the mushrooms. The second time we ordered a 1 topping olive pizza and it was PACKED with olives 3) Nice crisp crust 4) Only wish is that there was more sauce! Excited to dine in in person when things are safer.
