BEST PIZZA in SALEM hands down!!!! I will not eat at any other pizza place in the city because they just don't stand up to the delicious that Pietro's delivers. They have been around since 1957 and you can taste it that old school thin crust style. We love the Pietros Combo the best but you gotta try the Taco Pizza which is killer and change it up with the Mediterranean pizza. Decided to give Pietro's another try, it had been a couple years since our last visit. This visit was so much better than the last time. The pizza was great, we ordered a large combination & a half BBQ chicken half Italian ( can't remember the name). Crispy crust and lots of toppings. I got the salad bar, it was really clean this time and had lots of different things to choose from. We also ordered the Mac & Cheese off the kids menu, she liked it. Pizza, big no. Unless you like Willamette pizza, which consists of premade crusts covered with very little sauce and way too much chewy soft cheese. I understand our allegiance to childhood comfort food. But anyone who has been outside of OR has experienced real pizza. This is the pizza Bites version. Our mission was to go to three pizza houses as we were in Corvallis for the NCAA regionals...which OSU won. Pietro's was a bit disappointing as it was just ok. I had the BBQ Chicken and the sauce had too much of a "kick" in it. Why not serve something sweet or just good old Sweet Baby Rays? The crust was different than I recall from before. I had a party scheduled 2 weeks from when I called to add people to my reservation & they did not even have the right time down we agreed on. On top of that they told me I cannot add more people even though the person I booked the party with said to call if I need to change anything. when I asked how we can fix this since my invites already went out with the time we agreed on they said nothing and I can take it or leave it and were not apologetic for this huge inconvenience they just put on my husband and I. With how much money we were going to spend on pizza for our party its sad they were not more helpful. Had the absolute worst pizza I've ever had. It was supposed to be a chicken taco pizza. When it came out we were all a little grossed out. I'm not a fan of cheetos Mac and cheese or any kind of chips in food especially if it is crumbled. It's just not my thing. Anyway, we gave it a chance and tried it and it was absolutely gross. The chicken tasted old and rubbery. The beans were cold, and well Doritos don't stay crunchy for very long on top of lettuce and tomatoes. Out of three adults, the photo shows how much was eaten. Waste of money. We got the kids personal size pizzas and they weren't too pleased either. One kid actually said it was "gross". Half of the games were broken or out of order.
